i wasn't the happiest with the ending either. hahaa. but the Last Song is amazing! (both book and movie- now that's a rare finding. the book and movie are amazing.)
good 4 you. it's my fave Nicholas Sparks (of course, I've only read Dear John and The Last Song, but.........)
nice. my friend said she thought her mom had a bunch of Nicholas Sparks books, so I might borrow them offa her. lolz :)
mine is too- at times. sometimes i wish they would get more new books, cause i go through all the good ones so quickly. lolz
I haven't posted here is quite a while...Anyways, I just finished reading Unwind, which was very good. For me, it was one of those couldn't-put-down books. :D
And I just started Their Eyes Were Watching God for school today. I'm finding it rather confusing at the moment, which is really annoying. :P

May 7th?
I'm taking AP (Advanced Placement) European History this year, and May 7 is my big-gigantic-I-get-college-credit-if-I-pass-it test for AP Euro. So I've basically been studying during my normal reading time so I pass. I really wanna pass. If nothing else, I want to prove to this year's juniors that it IS possible to pass.
That sounds like alot of work! I'm sure it's worth it though.I'm reading Israels Hope and Expectation for school. It's a historical fiction about the life of one of the shepards that the angels come to at the time of Christ's birth.
True, but he has a personality I would kind of like better than Peeta I think (even though Peeta is really sweet)... xD
TEAM PEETA ALL THE WAY GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
though i have to say- although the hunger games are pretty good, i reckong their still a rip-off of the awesome battle royale
- japanese movie (SO GOOD) that the americans are currently re-making T_T
AND i can't buy the orginal from most stores because they've FREAKEN STOPED SELLING IT!!!!!!!!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

As an American, I'm not offended by that. Hollywood also seems incapable of making a decent adaptation of a book...
The Warrior Heir, by Cinda Williams Chima, has a similar premise..."teenagers having to fight each other and there's one left standing."

The Warrior Heir? Yeah, I liked it. A bit hard to get into, though. My brother had them for months before I read them...he still hasn't.
really- battle royale is quite old and was a book before a movie.
I'm SOOOOOO PISSED OFF!!!
i've been trying to track down the movie for EVA but everyone always has only had the second one.
then... finally- i went into order it at jb-hi-fi
and they said the actual production of the dvd had stopped
T_T
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
but i can just get it off the internet or so :D
oh oh oh-
but battle royale is a manga, a movie and a book ;D
so good... then hollywood found it

really- come on.
If you were making a furtune off a book, and you had stolen the idea from a japense movie but recreated it for teenagers...
do you really think you would tell the world you that????
but naa- stealing ideas is what authors do...
i should no ;)

Jillian -always aspiring- wrote: "(Also -- you should really read The Hunger Games, if only just the first one to see how you may like it. ;) ) "Yes, I know :)
I'm waiting for my library to get it back. Then I have to go to the library. Or buy it...
But, it is on my must-read-very-soon list.
this is the book im reading but i have less and less time to read coze exam block is around the bend *sigh*

That is really intresting and cool, thanks! I have never heard that before, but now I can see the resemblance you are talking about with history and Mythology.
Amber wrote: "I'm reading a lot of things-which is totally unlike me. But whatever. LIES COMES OUT SOON!!!"Check your local Barnes and Noble! Some (maybe all...I'm not sure how many) have released it early! I just got it yesterday. :D
I've tried to get my family members to read books, including the Hunger Games. No luck. My dad is the only one, besides me, who reads, and he likes murder mysteries and court books, not YA novels. :P I have gotten one of my friends to read Gone, and both she and her mom loved it! Now, I'm getting her to read Hunger Games. :D
Amber wrote: "I'm reading a lot of things-which is totally unlike me."So am I! Except, it is like me :)
Haha, same... I'm reading 2 library books that're due in 2 weeks, but I also have my AP test a week from today... Luckily I have 2 6-hour car rides before they're due.
That's a lot of hours in a car...why?I picked up The Count of Monte Cristo again. It's way overdue...
I'm also rereading The Fellowship of the Rings and getting ready to reread The Two Towers...
I'm driving to Los Angeles from AZ for my uncle's wedding... 6 hours there, 6 hours back. Lots of reading time.I finally got Hitchhiker's Guide, and I have to finish Becoming Jane Austen.
YAY CoMC!!! Wondrous book, that.
