What Are You Reading Right Now?

Yes, Nat, it makes sense. In a strange, convoluted way.

I loved that book. It was the first of John Green's that I read, and quite possibly my favorite. My mom got it for me for my birthday last year, just because of the name, and I thought it was really funny. (I was wondering if you were reading that Rae, after I saw your post in 123456...0 about Katherines)
I take it you don't like John Green, Amelia?
bllluuuueeeegghhhhh (imagine a bulldog shaking its jowls - that's what I'm doing right now). Not the biggest fan of the guy, that's for sure.
(My aunt's worse, though. She found a copy of Looking for Alaska in my cousin's room and *literally* burned it. 'Course pyromania kinda runs in the family. Each year we have a smores fest when we make a bonfire in a trashcan and roast them over it, and she was waving it around, going "I TOLD you not to read this!" and she kinda dropped it. :P)
haha, why is that Amelia?
Ive never read any of his work, but I need to read Looking for Alaska sometime.

Looking for Alaska was not my favorite. As I said, it was probably an Abundance of Katherines,(I particularly liked the wordplay) although I also really liked paper towns.

I guess he annoys me because he seems grossly unaware that teens exist in the universe who don't 1) drink, 2) have sex, or 3)...nope, that's pretty much it. And it's in every book of his: Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines (that one had some weird stuff with (view spoiler)), and Paper Towns. Every single one.
*annoyed*
I love John Green so much! (Any nerdfighters on here?)It's true that he does get into some more adult stuff like drinking, having sex, etc. and not everybody does that, but the writing is excellent and (in my case at least) the books make you think. They're also funny and quirky, which made them more enjoyable for me.
I just finished reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon for the second time. I read it in March 2009, and now again for school (year 10 english). I adore that book, five stars.
The teacher said we had to be up to page 56 by Monday (tommorow), but I kinda read ahead. Im sure Im not the only one.
Now Im reading my first graphic novel: The Comical Tragedy or Tragical Comedy of Mr. Punch by the wonderful Neil Gaiman.

Forever by Maggie Stiefvater.I liked Katherines a lot, actually. :) It did have bit of drinking and sex and such, but realistically, most YA books have that now, so I've grown used to seeing it in the books I read. I realize that it may not be realistic, but it's there so I go along with it for the book.
And see, that's just a tragedy, that teens have to grow used to it. I can't help but think, "if it's not shocking anymore, it can't be that big of a deal to them"...and if it's not a big deal, it may start to influence teens... *shrugs*. personally, I never want to get to the place where that kind of stuff doesn't bother me
Good, it makes sense. :) I haven't had time to do ANYTHING these last few days, so I'm still reading Breaking Dawn, and then my mom is forcing me to read a few books.I was cleaning and looking through old boxes last night, and I found some good books! Including The Forest of Hands and Teeth, which I really want to read, so I will once I'm done with the forced books and Breaking dawn.
I just finished reading If I Stay, and it only took me about three hours. I couldn't put it down!Has anyone else read it?
I liked the Forest of Hands and Teeth series very much! My favorite was the second one, The Dead Tossed Waves

I read it last year, and I liked the story but I didn't enjoy the writing style too much. It was a while ago though, so maybe I should re-read it as well
Anna wrote: "I liked the Forest of Hands and Teeth series very much! My favorite was the second one, The Dead Tossed Waves"
Oh, Natalie & Anna, I ADORE 'The Forest of Hands & Teeth' trilogy. My favorite was definitely the third one: The Dark and Hollow Places, but I enjoyed them all.
Im currently re-reading The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. So far its better than I remember!

I personally loved it. :) I'm on it's sequel, Where She Went
I can't wait to read the sequel, I've heard it's even better than the first one.I have so many books I want to read though, I can't decide what to read next! :)
I loved If I Stay. I finished both the books in a matter of hours. Jess & Anna- well then I'm glad i found it!

I borrowed The Graveyard book from the library a few months ago, and I LOVED it.
I finished Bury My Heart At Wounded knee a few weeks ago. I started Last Lecture by Randy Pauch and need to start the Fifties....
Rae*Potterhead*StarKid*Whovian* wrote: "I just finished Where She Went. I loved it. It was brilliant. How Hufflepuff of you, Nat. ^_^"
Except for the fact that I can't FIND my P.E. shirt!
I thought the first three were very good, and the fourth was okay. You have to know when to drop it, and I think she's gone too far. Clockwork Angel was good too, though.
Yeah, I've heard that about the fourth one. I hate when authors don't knkow when to stop, you know?I'm reading the second one, and it's not the best series I've ever read but it's still enjoyable.

*sighs* that's just sad. ^_^
I enjoy MI 1-3 as a guilty pleasure. Nothing great, but still fun. I'm not going anywhere near the fourth book, though, and I really disliked Clockwork Angel. A lot. I was sending my friend chapter summaries as I finished them, until I was like, "This book is stupid," and kind of stopped....I've been planning on rereading the original trilogy sometime soon...but...it's not going to happen unless the series finds its way into my college book box.
Natalie wrote: "Found it :)And I'm reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone."
ohh I'm starting that one too! We'll have to swap opinions, haha :P

We will! I like it :) How'd you get an ARC?
And I'm now reading a book for 8th grade Pre-AP English that I read in fourth grade.... :S

They are too me, yes. Although, this time I found some things that don't make sense, but the book itself also makes more sense... Does that make sense? (i did not mean that... ^_^)
