Kate | 8205 comments You're supposed to hate the farm Rae. (Well, I hope you are, or Orwell really messed up) It's pure allegory. It's amazing how close Animal Farm is to what happened with the Russian Revolution. That's why 1984 is so good too–his view of the future is really accurate.

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Hahah, just making sure that I'm not the only one. I'll have to read that at some point- I don't think its required reading, so I'll read it when I can. :)

Rae, that is exactly what you are supposed to be feeling :)
And Snowball & Napoleon are actually based on real people. Kate's right, after reading through some websites on the topic, ANIMAL FARM is amazingly close to what happened in Russia all those years ago...

message 1510: by Leigh (new)

Leigh (bookss) Reading Book of Spells by Kate Brian. I think the cover is pretty!

message 1511: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Jess: Good. ;) I'll probably finish it tomorrow- then I have a paper to write, but I won't get the specifics on the paper until after break- on Tuesday.

natalie | 5047 comments I need help... Should I read Crescendo or The Power of Six? 100 more pages of Ashes...

message 1513: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments I liekd Crescendo, but i didn't think it was as good as Hush,Hush. But i haven't read The Power of Six, so i can't help you there.

message 1514: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Crescendo it is. I doubt many people have read The Power Of Six yet, though, haha.

message 1515: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments No, not many have. How'd you get a copy?

message 1516: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments My mom. Works for bookfair. I'd say 75% of my books are ARC's.

message 1517: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Ah. Makes sense.

message 1518: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Yup. Ashes is an ARC, too.

I think it's been more like 2-3 other topics. Lol.

message 1522: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Hahah, true. But when things come up in conversations, you're liable to mention something like that several times.

message 1523: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I agree with all three of you Jess, Amelia, and Rae. (Wow! So agreeable!)

I have definitely heard it before. Multiple times. But hey, it is pretty awesome, and I did ask her. When something comes up in conversation, repetition is ok. (Or at least, it better be or I have long surpassed to bounds of ok)

message 1524: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) Well, too much repetition can sound a little on the immature side. Or the pretentious side. Like the Oracle at Delphi says, "Nothing too much."

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out what to read right now. I'm about to finish The Ask and the Answer and have no idea what to do next!! Arrghhh.

message 1525: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I hate when I have that problem. Do you know what type of book you're in the mood for?

message 1526: by Suhuur (new)

Suhuur (SueBeiber) | 60 comments I'm currently reading Perfect Chemistry and i love it soo much! I would recommend to someone who likes teen romance and some action :P i can barely even put it down!!

anything that's not dystopian. My friend is currently boycotting paranormal romance and I think I might have to do a dystopian "boycott." Lol.
But I am flipping through The Hourglass Door again, about to start the sequel The Golden Spiral

I shoulda put a disclaimer "Not counting the CHAOS WALKING series"! It spanks the heck out of THE HUNGER GAMES, lol, even though I sometimes wish Todd was as brave and matter-of-fact as Katniss

Power Play was good, but I definatly want the series to end. It's obvious there's going to be another one. Pearson should've just stopped it after the third.

Finished Crescendo, now reading The Power Of Six. Then... The Summer Of Firsts and Last, or Wither.

message 1533: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) I just started The Goddess Test yesterday. And it's pretty good!
The gods are really different, though. Kinda weird!

What the Librarian Did
Thank the internet gods for Awful Library Books; if they weren't around, I would have not known about this gloriously lol-filled book.

Ingo
Marked

And I just finished Shiver <=Great Book!

message 1536: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Pittacus Lore.

I want to read Shiver but my mom won't let me... Yet I've read Prep and Forbidden.

Yeah that's why I was asking.

message 1543: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Oh, haha.

City of Glass...

message 1544: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments FOR ALL: In my opinion, The Power of Six was better than I Am Number Four, so if you didn't like it that much, you should at least give the second one a chance :)

♫♫☺Allie☺♫♫ (alliwicious) | 1115 comments How did you even get it? It doesn't come out until August.

message 1546: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments It's in many other discussions, as some have said, but I will repeat myself because I was asked... My mom works for a book company and I get all my books and ARC's for free. The Power of Six is an ARC.

message 1547: by Brian (new)

Brian Woods (brianwoods) | 1 comments I am reading my own book again making sure there are no plot holes for the next. Once I finish that I will be working on the last 2 chapters of writing the next book. I have just finished writing the entire first draft of an entire new series by myself and Roy C Booth.
