What Are You Reading Right Now?
I used to be all set up in my studies to essentially be a Jane Austen scholar, but that changed when I added a Psych major.
What about double majoring? Or analyzing the psychology in Jane Austen. (Not really. Not sure how well that would work)
Well, I won't say it, but I'm thinking it. :)Lolz. nicee, Kate.
btw, has your school officially registered for the Nat. History Bowl? Cause we have. ;)

I already am double majoring (English Literature [concentration: Brit Lit] & Psychology) and have done a couple of papers that have been focused on psychoanalysing different characters from Austen's work. :) I still have to take classes where Austen is mentioned, if not the featured author; but my end goal is different.

Well, it's better than nothing, I guess, when it comes to Austen. The majors sound really good though.Rebekah Faith*Gnome Poet* wrote: "Well, I won't say it, but I'm thinking it. :)

I don't know. I really hope so! But I don't think we have yet. Of course, knowing my teacher, we will sign up, we will just do it at the last possible moment. We have signed up for MACCs/WACKOs after the deadline multiple times, I believe.
Cool. You can go Here: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/forums/view... to find out. Further down on the page it has a list of the schools that have registered and then a little ways after that the schools that will likely register.
Well, we're on the list of possible registerers, for JV and Varsity. I hope we become official registerers, but then, only five schools have.
I know. It's great, isn't it? ahahah. If you think about past convos, then you'll be able to figure out which one of them I go to.
Reading Burn right now.
Not the best Ted Dekker novel out there. To me it doesn't seem to have an engaging plot... I'd give it four stars, still.

Kate wrote: "Oh......I realized I've mentioned the school's namesake multiple times. Wow, I'm dumb."Well I didn't remember that, but your school is the only NY one that's in both JV and Varsity.
Allie: I couldn't really get into it, but that's just me.
Is it? I didn't notice although it makes sense, given that the nearby schools' JV teams would have been beaten out by our two, and then most teams would end up winning one or the other.
Impressive detective work, Watson. Or maybe I should say Gnomey. I like the new nickname, by the way.
Thanks. Scout in the group artemis's hunters started calling me it since i first put Gnome in my name. so i just decided to put it in this time around
Currently reading: Twilight by Erin Hunter
And I'm highlighting more DSM-IV-TR information for my case study. (due in 9 days for board review... nervous much.)

Thanks, loves. This class is super important for my current degree and future degree choices, so I'm really hoping I ace this case study and review.
Oooh, Jane Eyre! Haven't had to read that in ages. :) Happy reading, Taylor.
I've had that happen to me with some of the books I own, too. It'll also happen where I'll buy them, forget that I own them, check them out from work, and then realise oh, I've owned a copy for years now. XD
Haha! The same thing happened when I read Pride and Prejudice! But when reading it for a class it's just easier to use the edition the teacher gives (unless by some bizarre chance they're the same edition, which has never happened to me) in case the teacher says, "On page 159, something happens to someone." And you'd be looking at your copy going, "Page 159? That SO does not happen on page 159."
That's why I've been annoyed with a couple of my profs recently. The edition of the textbook wasn't specified, so I would end up with the wrong edition. :/ V. annoying.
My ENGL205 - Intro to Mythology was really bad about it. I grabbed the edition of the textbook the school had, but she meant (and by meant, I mean we were supposed to be psychic) the edition after that. It made a HUGE difference, since most of the work she assigned was not in the textbook the school offered! Dx But I got a 4.0 in that class, so I cannot complain.
Oh that's terrible... Good job on the 4.0 though, I suppose that sort of makes up for the irritating lack of the correct book.
Im reading The Last Days by Scott Westerfeld
Next I'll pick up The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

Right now I'm reading Graceling by Kristin Cashore! It's really, really good!! I'm almost done with it, though. Next I'm reading Vampire Academy! (:
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is really good, Jess. I'd hurry with the other book. ;)
I'm reading Childhood's End by Arthur C Clarke. So far I am uber digging it. Currently it's an examination of religion and spiritual belief set to the backdrop of aliens bringing peace to earth. But Clarke is a bro, so he never goes crazy with the philosophy, instead sneaking it in during awesome...other stuff.
