However, if Alex Pettyfer is cast as Jace I will be very unhappy, and if he is cast as Peeta I will cry. From sadness."

Peeta from the Hunger Games? I think he could pull off Gale if anything.

Yeah-hes more Gale.

I dont hate him-I just dont love him either. It just annoys me when people want him cast as every blonde male lead in a book-film adaption, when he clearly isnt suited for the role.

message 1004: by cindy (last edited Jan 27, 2011 05:01PM) (new)

cindy (cinlin) OK then, I have to admit that it was Alex's appearance that dictates most of my opinion of him. I know, shame on me... So superficial...

message 1005: by Basma (new)

Basma (basmakaid) | 347 comments Done with Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott now im on A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb

♫♫☺Allie☺♫♫ (alliwicious) | 1115 comments I looked Alex up. He seems more Gale-ish (if you color his hair black) and I didn't know there was an Alex Rider movie! I just read the book!

message 1007: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments There's an Alex Rider movie?

message 1008: by Mandie (new)

Mandie | 355 comments I remember watching that when I was nine or something with my brother. I haven't read the books though.

♫♫☺Allie☺♫♫ (alliwicious) | 1115 comments Kate wrote: "There's an Alex Rider movie?"

Yeah and apparently Alex Pettyfer was in it.

message 1010: by cindy (new)

cindy (cinlin) I feel pretty clueless, since I have no idea what Alex Rider is... This is where Google comes in.

message 1011: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) Kind of gave up on Matched - or at least, putting it on hold for awhile. It's a wee bit boring.

Just started Jenna & Jonah's Fauxmance :D

message 1012: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (meowchelle7) | 150 comments I just finished Halo by Alexandra Adornetto. It was VERY unoriginal, she ripped off Twilight soooo much (His eyes were vivid green yesterday, I swear, but today they were coal black), (There are 2 things I am sure about) *rolls eyes* Although I have to admit I loved the book, even though it was extremely uncreative! :l

I am starting to read Dicey's Song, which is Book #2 in the Tillerman series. It is about 4 kids who get abandoned by their mother since she was so depressed. It'd kinda sad. :\ They are all homeless and stuff. But it was really interesting to read the Homecoming, the first book. So I bought the second book, yay. ^^;

Next I plan to read Wicked Lovely. I actually started reading it 2 summers ago but I only got to page 7 and forgot about it, right before I was going on the plane to Taiwan. Haha. That'll be interesting, especially since Darkest Mercy, #5 to the series, comes out next month (I think!). :)

message 1013: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I think I read Dicey's song before Homecoming. It was a few years ago, so I don't remember. (or maybe I never read homecoming at all?) Either way, it's good.

message 1014: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (meowchelle7) | 150 comments Yes, it's very good! I kinda thought the Homecoming had a very slow storyline. Dicey's Song seems to be more interesting and straightforward. I'm currently on Chapter 2. :]

message 1015: by Pandy (last edited Jan 29, 2011 03:04PM) (new)

Pandy | 185 comments I just finished Wicked, which I've been reading for ages. I was surprised by how much I liked it at first, but I lost interest in it about half way through.

I'm about to start In Cold Blood for school.

message 1016: by Frank (new)

Frank Tell me what you think of In Cold Blood. I have been meaning to pick it up for some time now.

message 1017: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
Wicked Lovely...Yeah, that books alright.
Its a fun, quick, quirky read. I didn't love it, but didn't hate it either.
But its got a fair bit of sex and fowl language, so if you dont like that sort of thing, WL isn't for you.
Let me know what you think!

message 1018: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) Lol. I still laugh when folks talk about reading Fugly. Can't help it!

message 1019: by Frank (new)

Frank Just finished The Hunger Games. You can read my review here if you like.

Now I am off to read I Am Number Four

message 1020: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments I will be starting I Am Number Four, but I'm still rereading The Count of Monte Cristo. Again. ;)

message 1021: by Paige (new)

Paige (paigito) chapter two of "the bell jar" by sylvia plath. so excited to read this thing!

message 1022: by cindy (new)

cindy (cinlin) Finished reading the John Green/David Levithan collaboration, Will Grayson, Will Grayson (my review). It was fantastic. This was only my 2nd John Green book (must read more of his works), but David Levithan I was more familiar with, mostly through his collabs with Rachel Cohn.

message 1023: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (meowchelle7) | 150 comments Instead of reading Wicked Lovely, after I finish Dicey's Song I'm going to start I am Number Four for our group read! :) @Jessica: Yeah a little profanity doesn't bother me much... It can't be worse than House of Night, can it? o:

message 1024: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (meowchelle7) | 150 comments And @ Cinnamon, if you read another John Green book, tell me how it goes. :)

message 1025: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
House of Night...eugh. Heaps of people at school were telling me to read it, but im not into paranormal romance/twilight wannabes, so instead I looked up the description of wikipedia and another review site.
*shiver*
That books looks AWFUL!!! I will never, ever read that book in my entire life.

message 1026: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (meowchelle7) | 150 comments I actually liked the first 5 books. Then it got super boring. They are working on the 9th book now.... *yawn* such a slowww plot. ): I heard they are thinking about making 15 books in the series or something lolol. I don't really have the attention span for that. :/

I know what you mean. I didn't like the very beginning all that much, then I started to be really interested, and then.........something happened.

message 1028: by Abhijith (new)

Abhijith Nuchin (nuchin) | 26 comments The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series, pretty good so far

I totally agree with Jessica.
I read the house of night books, believe me they are awful.

message 1029: by [deleted user] (new)

Currently reading:
Idential by Ellen Hopkins
Wasted by Marya Hornbacher
.hack//LINK vol. 1
Firestar's Quest by Erin Hunter
& listening to the audiobook of Making the Rounds with Oscar

message 1030: by AnQi (new)

AnQi (anqiyu) | 57 comments House of Night... What can I say? The first few were pretty good (with the exception of Zoey sounding more like a 12 year old than an actual high-schooler) but then the plot started getting out of hand and the writing a little bit sloppier. I dropped it at Burned. It just didn't appeal anymore.

message 1031: by cindy (last edited Jan 30, 2011 12:13PM) (new)

cindy (cinlin) Agreed. HoN started out addictive in a guilty pleasure sort of way, then it just became a huge train wreck. Although I feel this obligation to finish the series since I'm well into it already...

Your comment is how I feel about HoN as well and explains the only reason why I will continue reading it.

I agree with you. When i first read them I got kind of bored because it was kind of the same thing over and over again but at the same time I wanted to find out how it ended....

Oh and i am reading the Vampire Academy at the moment! =)

message 1034: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments I Am Number Four was really good (: Thirteen Reasons Why... I'm reading that. It's.. peculiar.

message 1035: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Started I Am Number Four today!

message 1036: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Yeah, so I wasn't going to start I am Number Four until after midterms (Tuesday).......... Well...today, I was taking a fifteen minute break, and I was like, "ok. I'll start the book, see what it's like"

I have now finished I am Number Four. Oops.

message 1037: by Frank (new)

Frank Wow, you must read fast.

♫♫☺Allie☺♫♫ (alliwicious) | 1115 comments I'll start I am number Four soon. I just need to get it.

message 1039: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I do read fast. That was probably only about three hours or so out of my studying, but it was three hours I shouldn't have wasted.

♫♫☺Allie☺♫♫ (alliwicious) | 1115 comments Wow...

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Kate wrote: "I do read fast. That was probably only about three hours or so out of my studying, but it was three hours I shouldn't have wasted."

Good job, Kate. :) I did that with The Lost Symbol last year.

message 1042: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I think I did too, come to think of it. I do it with a lot of books. It's a problem. That's why I was supposed to be staying as far away from I am Number Four as possible. As you can see, it didn't work as planned.

♫♫☺Allie☺♫♫ (alliwicious) | 1115 comments I sometimes read books super fast. Last week I read one book in one night. I only got 2 hours of sleep that night.

message 1044: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) Lucky. I think I've slowed down with age, lol :S

message 1045: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments These things happen sometimes. ;)

message 1046: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) True. Either that or it's my ADD. I can't concentrate for more than 50 pages without a snack break or something. Haha.

message 1047: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments For me, if I'm really focused in a book, I'm dead to the world. I stop, and suddenly realize that I've been reading for hours, I'm starving, thirsty, need the bathroom, and have inadvertently been ignoring my mom. It's a fairly common occurrence actually.

message 1048: by Frank (new)

Frank I love to read, and I can read for a long period of time. I don't read very fast though. The average page takes me about 1 minute and 15 seconds. A smaller font usually takes me 2 minutes.

message 1049: by Z. (new)

Z. (mizzfictionista) I read at a fairly quick pace, about 40 seconds per page. I've actually read 4 books between Wednesday and now - The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Switched (Trylle Trilogy #1), Graceling, and Hush Money. I haven't had much reading time as of late, so I attacked my books this weekend.

message 1050: by cindy (new)

cindy (cinlin) I read fast when I enjoy the story. I'm so zoned out when reading that my family/friends all complain that it takes multiple attempts to get my attention...

@Zareen How was The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo? I've been meaning to read that for a while, what with all the hype surrounding it.
