I Hate What Maury Povich Has Done With His Talk Show!

I remember back when Maury had some really decent talk shows. In fact, most--if not all--of them were really decent and helpful.

Now--except for a rare occasion--his talk shows seem to have about three main themes:

1. Who's The Daddy?

2. Obese Babies, Toddlers, & Preschoolers

3. Sending Troubled Teens (And Younger) To Boot Camp

The participants in group one are all consenting adults, and, if they want to get on there and act stupid, that's their busienss.

But I find it nasty how these little butterball kids and their mothers get booed by Maury's Roman Empire Arena audience, and I also think that it's pathetic how they deal with these troubled teens and children as well.

If you look at these teens and children closely, even while they're sounding defiant, you can see that there are tears in their eyes just below the surface.

They're in pain, and the last thing they need is to have some boot-camp sergeants getting in their faces and barking at them until the cry for the entertainment of the masses.

There are better ways of dealing with troubled youth anyway than boot-camps, so why doesn't Maury go that route?

It's because it's not as thrilling and audience-captivating--at least, with the shallow morons that seem to make up his studio audience--so he's doing something that's far worse than any of these troubled teens and children ave done.

He's exploiting minors!

There's more than one way to exploit minors than being a pedophile.

In my book, he's even WORSE than a pedophile in what he's doing because pedophiles have some kind of compulsion to do this, while Maury is just thinking of the bottom line.

In other words, he's a pimp who is exploiting the helpless to line his pockets with gold and cross his palms with silver!

He should be ashamed of himself!

Wow, he is still on TV? I thought those TV trash shows went off over a decade ago.

Time flies when you're having fun. I'm not sure how long he's been doing the stupid shows that he does now. It doesn't seem that long ago that he started, but time does have a way of passing.

I think he went from quality TV to trash TV sometime after the start of the millennium. All I know is that I'd been busy and not watched him for awhile--and barely recognized the show when I saw it again.

I don't know how long you've known about him, but I remember when he used to have a quality show that was really about reaching out to people in need, sharing the stories of deserving people, and all of those things that a good talk show should be about.

OMG r u kidding me? I love the baby mama drama whos ur daddy crap! My all time favorite is this long-haired latina-looking chick who is on the show with the seventh guy swearing up and down he IS the daddy.
The best part, Maury asks, "you don't want people thinking you're a whore right?" And she says "No Maury, I'm not a Ho" And I just about fell on the floor! I admit to paraphrasing here since this show was years ago but I swear she said she is not a ho.
Seriously, I wonder what her definition of a whore is. Now I don't watch regularly so I did not see her first 6 appearances and I am quite sory if I've missed her 8th, 9th, and 10th. But honestly, if you've slept with so many men in a 2 week period that you can't reasonably name 3 who may be the daddy, does that not define whore? Tell the truth, I've never looked up whore in the dictionary so perhaps I am in the wrong but, oh well, it was still funny.
And yes, I know it's a 3 day window for egg to get fertilized but these are Maury guests here, so I'm giving them a 2-week window.

Carlie--a whore is another name for a prostitute, so I would say that she isn't a whore.

However, I would say that she's pretty promiscuous.

Either she actually is just one of those people who love having sex with as many people as possible for some reason or else she's very emotionally needy.

My guess is she's both emotionally needy and enjoys having sex with as many people as possible because sex is one way that she feels connected to men.

I saw a Who's The Daddy one a few days ago, and I was really touched by it.

The guy wanted to be the Daddy, but he wanted to be with the woman even if he weren't. He and the woman both did a lot of crying and hugging each other.

But I still say that Maury should do the right thing and get out of the business of exploiting troubled teens (and younger) and overweight tots.
