I'm hoping to read 13 to Life too. I was intrigued by the need for a police escort in the description.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 405 comments I also got "Wicked Lovely" (from the library though) but I just couldn't get into it.

message 218: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I am not a big fan of YA -- very few YA I got into -- Twilight, the Hunger Games. I wouldn't consdier the Percy Jackson series and Harry Potter series YA -- more juvenile and I liked those. But otherwise I prefer adult books. I recently Xed Wicked Lovely off my TR list.

I was just notified that The Pasage by Cronin (the add book link isn't working) is available -- I am surprised b/c so many people are waiting for it. Excited to start that one!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 405 comments Same here, I find it hard to get into YA, the only ones I have read and really enjoyed are His Dark Materials by Phillips Pullman. I got Wicked Lovely as I kept hearing good things...but I just couldn't get into the story or writing.

What's The Pasage?

message 220: by Mariya (new)

Mariya (cr6zym0nkeyiz) i started wit YA and now since i started adult books i cant get back into YA. hopefully after i read all the adult books in my TBR shelf maybe i can get back into them.

the last YA book i read when the summoning by kelly armstrong and i just could not get into it.

message 221: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Oh yes -- I liked Pullman's series as well. But I really think it was more than YA.

The Passage is a hot new release and highly talked about -- reviewed by the NYT and even Stephen King was talking about it. http://www.amazon.com/Passage-Justin-...

Post-apocalypical but involves vamps. ...

Yes, I loved it but I'm not giving any details away otherwise I'll ruin it for you. I will say that there are hints that the series could be ending soon.

I know but there are like 20+ books in this series including the in-between ones, and there's a new Diesel (from the in-between books) series starting with Wicked Appetite so it's not all bad.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 405 comments I just looked at The Passage it looks really good, kind of a mix between "I Am Legend" and Resident Evil! I am goign to have to pick it up I think, it sounds really interesting.

Yeah, Phillip Pullmans books His Dark Materials, was more then just YA below the surface. I also enjoy his Sally Lockhart books aswell, and read them quite alot.

Regina, I think the first half is a bit dry but it gets better. I am looking forward to a conclusion to the series though, I want Steph to choose who she's going to be with finally and do grown up things like get married or have children.

That's how I felt about it too. As soon as I finished it I gave it to my mother and demanded she read it -she loved it. I also pushed it on my sister and her boyfriend, they haven't read it yet but I'll be checking up on them soon, lol!

message 239: by Mariya (new)

Mariya (cr6zym0nkeyiz) ive gotta be like many of the people who have not read it yet.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 405 comments That was the cover the library had, I prefer the black cover with the gold brooch, so when I buy it (which I definately definately am!) I am going to get that edition!

That is a good idea Amy, when I have read it, I am going to make sure all my friends and family read it, spread the goodness!
