I just finished reading, and really loved it. There were some very funny scenes between Curran and Kate, Ilona Andrews has become one of my favourite authors, I can't wait for the next book.
Mere words cannot describe the shere awesomeness (sp?) of this book!!!!Although, can someone explain wtf was up with Andrea at the end of the book? The whole book she was all in for a penny in for a pound with Kate and then she has a fight with her boyfriend and disappears on Kate.

I am wondering if the whole mating frenzy has her off her game. She seemed a little different to me in this book.
I was surprised at the end when Raphael was like do what you want I am out of here, I wonder if he will be all or none?
Quite possible, although I'm sure that eventually all will work out. Now begins the long wait for Kate#5.....
I have to be careful when I leave reviews for books that I read after reading an awesome book like Magic Bleeds because it's like I go through a funk and nothing can compare to the book I just read so I tend to judge them a little harshly.

All in all I think Magic Strikes was better, I was a little bit disappointed by this one. The childish behaviour between Curran and Kate goes on my nerv in the first part of the book. And sometimes the scenes are too short in my opinion.
loved the whole 'show your interest by invading someone's space' bit. totally funny when she welded his weight bars to the bench lol!
I think Magic Strikes was better too but there some really funny scenes and one liners in this one. I also really like the progress made in Magic Bleeds and where it's heading. I loved it when she blocked access to the bimbo room! At least he noticed his weight bar before the bimbo room, that's something.
Magic Bleeds wasn't my favorite Kate Daniels book, but it was still great. *******Possible Spoilers **************
I had some trouble with the Kate/Curran relationship. It seemed a bit 'happy ever after' at the end. I wonder if Kate being an alpha will totally screw the pack up or will the relationship be a sign of the times. I don't want Kate to be less of an ass kicking, independent women because she has to consistently compromise with Curran. I don't see it working, but I hope it does.
I actually felt sorry for Auntie Erra when she died. She was a very sad creature. At least they had tea together.
I loved Magic Bleeds. I was quite afraid it was going to spoil the series, as I heard it was either going to break it or make it. I love Kate/Curran! Kate still standing strong, she gets hurt but never complain. Definitaly my favorite series!
I think that it can work out. I think she will drive him insain and won't sacrifice who she is just because something pisses him off. I think they will always but heads, because it wouldn't work out any other way.

umm yeah and I never (lol) pictured Kate to be so stacked. ;) Completely different image. Not sure if I like it.
this isn't my favoritem but i thought none of them really were that good of covers, it took me forever to read these but based on recommenations and nagging. but this cover is like okaiexz....but im like that wit a lot of covers...i think i need to let it sink in but like rite now im am not too crazy about it.
Definitely a different model, and boy oh boy is that some poor photoshopping on the upper body. I think the shirt originally had a completely different cut and they fiddled with it.

It's like whoever did that didn't understand perspective. The back one looks larger to me than the front one. >.> Um, wow. It won't stop me from reading it, but it's funny.
Mariya wrote: "is that a different model for kate? she looks different."She looks white... what the heck? Did they get a new artist?
It is funny too, the book emphasizes how Kate is not beautiful -- she is exotic and striking but not beautiful. The image on Magic Slays is definitely beautiful and not exotic.
Ilona Andrews is offering a free novella (Magic Gifts) for the next 2 weeks. You can get it at their website. http://www.ilona-andrews.com/magic-gi... It picks up where Magic Slays left off. Happy Holidays!

Just finished Magic Gifts and it fell in nicely cause I did some back to back reading of the previous books last week...or was it the week before. The Kate Daniels series is my favorite PNR/UF discovery of the year. I read the early books at a period where I was extremely stressed out from school and at first it was pretty slow and frustrating for me because the world created by Ilona Andrews was too much and too complicated for me who was just looking for something easy to read. It was only later when I went back and read through it again did I appreciate the fantastic and intricate universe of magic/tech and Kate's awesome character. I absolutely LOVE the banter between Kate and Curran.

It's one of my favorite series, too. Plus, I can tell that the authors (it's actually a husband and wife team) really appreciate their fans. You should follow their blog. Definitely worth it. That's how I found out about the free novella. Plus, they are just as funny in their blog as they are in the books. I agree that
was a bit difficult to get into. Just so much description at the beginning... The authors actually admit now that it's not their favorite book. I'm glad I stuck with it though. : )

You're right, they are really funny and they make a good team. :) I also enjoyed the Curran POVs written by Gordon.
I'm really glad I came across this series as well.
The cover for
is gorgeous...am I the only one who sort of imagines it as what Curran would look like as a woman? The grey fur, golden eyes, warrior look and all.. (no offense intended!)
