Yes, that's fine.

Yes, that will do.

Yes.

No, sorry, bookclubs are the one activity I am ruling out.

What about attending an author's reading of their book at a bookstore as the event, and then reading the book they were promoting for the task?

Yes, I will allow that.

Yes, I will accept that.

two of my kids are in a production of Cinderella. I have the book to read to go along with that. I've seen rehearsals (and will continue to do so, I am sure, lol, every Tuesday. . .), but the actual performance isn't for weeks. Do I need to wait for the actual performance, or do my rehearsal viewings (outside my house but not really "public") count for claiming the points? I'm all about checking off the boxes but I don't want to circumvent the task.
Thanks :)

As a mother (even though my children have grown up)I think going to rehearsals need some reward, so I will say yes.

I'm wondering (1) if that counts, and (2) what kind of book would be acceptable to read... I was thinking The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, but that's more about a literary society (obviously).... I don't know. I'm struggling. Some kind of Christian book? A book about women sticking together? (Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood? The Yada Yada Prayer Group?)
I don't know that I'm really interested in reading those last two, but I'm stretching here...

Since it's the Relief Society, would something like Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace... One School at a Time work?
Or if the money goes to a specific area of the world or US, you could maybe read about that.
If you wanted something a little light and with some gentle humor, Philip Gulley's Harmony series are about a small church in (I think) Indiana.

You know, it's not really about money—more about service. I can't remember ever having a fundraiser in the 8 years I've been a member, but we DO put together care packages for soldiers and victims of hurricanes, etc. every once in a while... The Relief Society started out with some women donating their time and sewing ability, actually, but now it's mostly about women supporting and learning from one another in all different ways—from studying the gospel together to doing service projects to learning skills like cooking or budgeting that will help each woman strengthen her family.

Sara, I am happy to accept that as your activity - it was live and you got out. I will also assecpt
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society as it is more than just a literary society and it's a great book.

It is... though it's a reread... But I need a refresher to see if it's something my mom might like... :)
