Jealous of whom? or is it who?"

You're asking the wrong person to correct your grammar! I mess up all the time (or is it all of the time?)

Oh, I'm jealous because I still have a few books to read before I can get this one :(

Dorsey, you are reading Bastien story.

Anne Stuart is a writer after my own heart. I love how she writes her dangerous bad boys.

Danielle got me started reading Anne Stuart's Ice Series.

I like Mrs. Stuart way of writing. She writes like she's writing a script. She knows how to bring a person into her stories.

That's next on my reading list, Heather!

❤️ Dorsey aka Wrath Lover Reviews ❤️ Heather wrote: "Going to start When You Dare (Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor, #1) by Lori Foster as an audiobook."

Let me know how you like the audio version (I know the narrator is the same that did all the BDB audio books, but don't think I've listened to any of his work).....does he do a good job on the female voices?

message 3827: by Heather (new)

Heather (messybar) I really like the couple, Megan. The suspense isn't great, more focus on them, but I'm liking that in this book. Dare is a great hero!

message 3828: by Heather (last edited Aug 11, 2011 12:48PM) (new)

Heather (messybar) I really loved the narrator, Dorsey! I thought he did a great job with it. He's not the best with female voices (but certainly not the worst), but his tempo and reading is well played out. I'm really glad I'm reading it as an adudiobook!!!

Katya | 327 comments Just finished Gabriel's Inferno by Sylvain Reynard and all I have to say is WOW. This was goooooood! I could not put this down...every time I tried to put it aside to do other things like....sleep-I just had to turn one more page to see what else was going to happen.

Warning-It is a long book and drawn out but worth the read. The length actually works to allow you to share the angst and anguish the characters are experiencing. This is a character driven novel with a tortured, suffering hero/heroine. But don't worry it has a very satisfying end.

Our hero starts the book off as a stuffy, nasty, condescending professor who is really very mean to the heroine. But he softens up as the story unfolds. If I had any criticism it would be that the heroine vacillated between being a lion and being a skittish kitten. I liked her despite that flaw...nobody's perfect.

The author does a great job describing the environment, as well as the thoughts and emotions of the characters; and you feel as though you have known these people your entire life-I LOVED IT!

ConstantReader76a | 26 comments Can anyone tell me if JD Robb's In Death series is any good? I have not read any of Nora Roberts' books before because they've not really appealed to me, but I've heard good things about Roarke. Is he a dangerous hero?

message 3836: by Heather (new)

Heather (messybar) I love the series so far, Chanelle!!
Eve gets some getting used to, but Roarke is an awesome male lead. I has dangerous, calculating tendencies, but all the more to love. I've read through book 3 and I'm eagerly awaiting #4 from the library.

message 3837: by Heather (new)

Heather (messybar) Am I alone with not really liking historical romances? I feel like a sorta failure in the genre for not clicking with them. Out of the five I've read lately, I've only liked one and it was only a novella.

message 3838: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Jackson (paperbackdiva) | 181 comments Of course you're not alone, Heather! Part of the beauty of GR is exploring differences with so many people. But we can hope that you'll find something you'll like in looking through thses lists.

Heather, I read somewhere that sales of Historical Romance have gone down over the last decade. And statistically there are fewer written than in past years.

Personally, I hate historical novels which are not historically accurate. And reading about women who respond like modern women in a novel that was supposed to take place in the 1600's turns me sour. That is why I enjoy time travel historicals much better. But warning-time travel romance can sometimes border on ridiculous!

We are all different and that is why these boards are so interesting...don't you love reading what others think of a book?

It is one of my favorites! Eve and Roarke are great. Sometimes the mysteries are boring, but she has really developed the secondary characters that that is why I read them now.

No you aren't a failure :-) Everyone likes something different...are you trying to find good a historical? I'm sure if you tell us what you like maybe we could help you find a good one. (I'm a big fan of historicals, can you tell?)

Ward Love Butch and Vishous.I'm also reading Elemental Assassin series, started Web of lies today. Web of Lies (Elemental Assassin, #2) by Jennifer Estep

La La | 132 comments So finished reading Bound by Moonlight (Moonlight, #4) by Nancy Gideon completely uninterrupted and loved every minute of it. I can't wait till the final two books come out. I also read Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning . It wasn't as boring as I braced myself for it to be but it did have its dragging moment. I do find Barrons very intriguing, though. Macs pinkyness is kind of getting on my nerves. I'm going to push through because I know the series gets better

message 3845: by ~Jennifer~ (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) The pink Mac doesn't last long. You only have to endure her through the first book really. ;) Barrons gets better and better.

I do love that, Katya! I've been exposed and loved so many books this year that I would have never found myself, and it's all because of the people on here!

lol, I can tell, Tammy. I think I was shown this awesome, never ending star of a book (The Flame and the Flower) and no other historical has come close, so my interest in that sub-genre never recovered. The Flame and the Flower is my all time favorite book, so as Winston Churchill would "It is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma" ;-)

message 3848: by La La (new)

La La | 132 comments @ Jennifer - That's good to know. I went in knowing about her pinkness and the fact that the first few books are a little slow, but it wasn't as painful as I imagined it would be so I will soldier on.

message 3849: by Katya (new)

Katya | 327 comments Jennifer wrote: "The pink Mac doesn't last long. You only have to endure her through the first book really. ;) Barrons gets better and better."

Yes Jennifer...he does. I started out hating him and by Dreamfever I was loving him. I also think that Mac's transformation through the five books is one of the most interesting things about the series. What she goes through internally to come to the Mac who steps out of Shadowfever....it is amazing.

❤️ Dorsey aka Wrath Lover Reviews ❤️ Currently reading Breaking Point (I-Team, #5) by Pamela Clare ...just started but sooo good already!!
