~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) Finished Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews ..it was okay. I'll read another one before I decide if I liked it. Curran was interesting. :)
Started Grave Witch (Alex Craft, #1) by Kalayna Price . So far it's pretty good. I'm still waiting for it to really grab me, though.

Oooh, I added those Lucy Monroe books to my TBR!

Enjoy Naked Edge...it's my favorite of the series so far!

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Just finished The Price of Pleasure (Sutherland Brothers, #2) by Kresley Cole and loved it.. 4.5* Not quite as good as the first, but almost:-)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Ok, so I finished Sweet Release (Blakewell/Kenleigh Family Trilogy, #1) by Pamela Clare and I'm now reading Carnal Gift (Blakewell/Kenleigh Family Trilogy, #2) by Pamela Clare , and then on to a re-read of the 3rd book in the trilogy, Ride the Fire (Blakewell/Kenleigh Family Trilogy, #3) by Pamela Clare

The thing I love about Pamela Clare's novels, all of them, is the amount of research that goes into writing them. Her historicals are awesome in their accuracy, but they're not text bookish at all. They're gritty, romantic, and sexy as all get out. They're almost like a historical romantic suspense, especially Carnal Gift and Ride the Fire.

Good to know. Gonna keep going with them!

Shellbelle | 161 comments Just finished Eternal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #1) by Larissa Ione !!! I really enjoyed it!

Still listening to Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate in the car, it's really getting good.

Think I will either finish City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare or start The Darkest Secret (Lords of the Underworld, #7) by Gena Showalter

Amanda (kittiescardigansbooks) | 207 comments @Shellbelle - I heard that reading the whole Demonica series before reading Eternal Rider was highly recommended for full enjoyment. What do you think? I have only read the first Demonica book, and I already own Eternal Rider - should I put it off until I get my hands on the rest of the Demonica books?

message 3111: by Melanie (last edited Apr 14, 2011 02:01PM) (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments @ Amanda - I would totally recommend you read all the Demonica books first, so as to understand what's going on! The backstory in the Demonica series is really important to get all the details of Eternal Rider! And the books are all amazing btw!

message 3112: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (kittiescardigansbooks) | 207 comments Good to know! I had a feeling that was the case, and reading all the Demonica books sure won't be a chore! It's just too bad my library doesn't have them, maybe I'll have to loosen up the purse-strings. :) Thanks Melanie!

message 3113: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Just finished Comanche Moon (Comanche, #1) by Catherine Anderson
Wow!!! What an amazing book and beautiful love story I feel empty, as if all my emotions have been wrenched out of me. So much hate between the nations of two people so in love!
Tomorrow morning, I'm going straight into reading Comanche Heart!!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Melanie, I keep hearing wonderful things about that series. I guess I should make it fit into one of my challenges.

message 3115: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Well I can assure you that the first in the series is fabulous! emotionally draining, but fabulous!I'm really looking forwards to reading the next book in the series!

They've got a strong romance? Would you consider them "bodice ripperish?" And what's the heat like?

message 3117: by ~Jennifer~ (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, #1) by Karen Marie Moning Mmmm. Kilts. All I'm gonna say. :)

I love CA's Comanche books!! Her books always make me emotional.....she has some of the best heroes ever!

They've got a very strong romance, UM, and a good amount of heat. If you like Ride the Fire by Pamela Clare, I think you'd like these! They are Native American love stories done RIGHT.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Megan wrote: "They've got a very strong romance, UM, and a good amount of heat. If you like Ride the Fire by Pamela Clare, I think you'd like these! They are Native American love stories done RIGHT. "

You knew EXACTLY how to sell me on reading them. Mention Pamela Clare's name when comparing with other authors and I'm all over it!

Def read the Demonica series first! There are a lot of things going on that started in that series! Plus it's just a great series:)

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) I have my fingers crossed -- I haven't had much luck with the author.

This was the only book I've read by this author, and I liked it. Didn't LOVE it, but I liked it.

I really enjoyed that one, Darcy. Toni Blake's Destiny series is my favorite, but I did enjoy Letters to a Secret Lover, too.

I started reading that series and now am slowly going back and reading all of her other books. I haven't found a bad one yet.

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Dhes - Megan's right about Comanche Moon and the love story (one of the most beautiful I've come across!).. As for the heat factor, it's there, but towards the end.. the heroine has a lot to overcome before that point! I haven't read Pamela Clare's HR yet, but I'll have to get to it!

Read Comanche Heart (Comanche, #2) by Catherine Anderson : I actually didn't even go to sleep after Comanche Moon, I just had to see Amy and Swift get their HEA.. Phew, this book had me tearing up in places (yet again... CA is a wonderful writer!): Amy went through so much! it was heartbreaking, but I loved how Swift just loved her through it all, no doubt in his mind.. 5*

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Thanks, Melanie! I'm ok with less heat as long as the story is good.

Melanie, I don't know how you read them both in succession like that......you must feel like you've been through a war! I haven't read the next one in the series yet, about Indigo, I've heard it's not as good as the first two.

Hi I liked Moon Craving. A deaf heroine was really interesting and I found her likeable and I enjoyed the secondary romance. I think she has a new one in that series, but I haven't read it yet.

I did feel a little wrung out at 6am, lol.. But since I'd also heard that CH wasn't as good as CM and I loved it, I'm hoping IB will still be great...
But I am giving myself a couple days in between, to regroup, and then if IB isn't as good as CH and CM, I won't have those two fresh in my mind for comparison:-)

@Deanna - If you like deaf heroines, you should read Annie's Song by Catherine Anderson - amazing HR!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish OOoh, these are the Catherine Anderson books I own -

Anderson, Catherine – Anthology – Three Weddings and a Kiss (#1 Comanche Moon, #2.Comanche Heart) Annie’s Song

What am I missing in the series?

After that one will be Navarro's Promise (Breeds, #24) by Lora Leigh

There's Indigo Blue and Comanche Magic, numbers 3 and 4 in the Comanche series. I have to tell you, Annie's Song is amazing, too....I just love Catherine Anderson in every way.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I haven't read anything by her yet, Megan, but wow... I had put off Lorraine Heath's Texas trilogy and Jodi Thomas' Wife Lottery... when I finally read them I was blown away by how wonderful they were...

I need to read this series, too.

I will warn you that there is no resolution within the story. People are rating the book bad because of it. But if you look at it as setting up a series I think it is fine.

I liked both Dahl and Foster's, the middle one was the weakest for me, which is funny as it was the one that is a stand alone story.

message 3141: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Dhes - You really should read C. Anderson.. I was reluctant to start Annie's Song because of the plot (heroine raped by the brother of the hero), but wow! It blew me away! Same thing with Comanche Moon. I'm now a die-hard CA fan (at least her historicals, which have made their way to my BWB basket, lol)
Oh, and I received Lorraine Heath's first two books in the Texas series! Definitely going to start them this weekend!
Never read Jodi Thomas though.. Good?

Jodi Thomas is fantastic....I recommend the Wife Lottery series, starting with one of my favorite books/heroes/couples of all time: The Texan's Wager (Wife Lottery, #1) by Jodi Thomas !

Yes having a deaf heroine was really interesting! I loved the heroine from the first book and didn't think she would be able to compete, but I ended loving her just as much! Moon Burning is the newest one in the series! I haven't read it yet!

You ladies are running through does books. To say I am a reader, I don't read like you ladies. I'm focus on another big thing right now.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I picked up Indigo Blue (Comanche, #3) by Catherine Anderson today and I think Comanche Magic by Catherine Anderson is due to be released soon!

Jodi Thomas' The Texan's Wager (Wife Lottery, #1) by Jodi Thomas was so, so good. I was surprised how much I loved it. The heat level is lower than most, but the story is so amazing I didn't miss it.

I'm sad to hear it's getting bad reviews! I get Victoria's Twitter feed text to my phone so I was prepared for this short story to be a prequel of sorts, and new it wasn't a HEA kind of story (at least for now)! The real book with these two come out in fall I think.

Thanks for the heads up though:) I have read most everything by Dahl, and most of Fosters books, and I enjoy them both (especially Dahl)!

I think you will be ok with the stories. The reasons the book is getting bad/low reviews is because the 2 stories that start the series don't really have a HEA and people were mad about that.

I knew going in that was the case so I was ok with it.
