Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments I am reading One Reckless Summer (Destiny, #1) by Toni Blake and it is really good so far.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Darcy, I LOVE Toni Blake's Destiny series. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! The most recent book, Whisper Falls (Destiny, #3) by Toni Blake is one of my all time favorites and I adore both Tessa and Lucky. Amazing story.

Amanda (kittiescardigansbooks) | 207 comments I've only read One Reckless Summer and am dying to read the other books in the series so far! My local library doesn't carry them, but my parents does...hmm.

You'll have to tell us your final verdict Darcy!

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments @ UM and Amanda -

I am not even sure how this book crossed my path. It was at the library the last time I picked up my holds. I don't remember requesting, but however it happened, boy am I glad. I really liked this one and can't wait to check out others by this author.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I liked book 2, but not as much as 1 and 3, but it was still great!

Good to know!

I have moved on to Trial by Fire (Firefighters of Station Five, #1) by Jo Davis and if I like that one I have the next one ready to go.

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) Lady Danielle "The Book Huntress" wrote: "Ugh, I can't stand heroes with enormous egos, MrsJ."

Yeah, me either.

I need a good romance with a hot and sexy hero who doesn't take any crap but actually has a heart. I am tired of the crappy romances I've been reading lately. It's just depressing. I want another man like Devil Cynster. *dreamy*

Any suggestions?

Historical or contemporary?

message 2809: by Amanda (last edited Mar 13, 2011 07:52PM) (new)

Amanda (kittiescardigansbooks) | 207 comments @ MrsJoseph - you should check out Suzanne Enoch's Lessons in Love series. The Rake (Lessons in Love, #1) by Suzanne Enoch , London's Perfect Scoundrel by Suzanne Enoch , and England's Perfect Hero by Suzanne Enoch . I would also strongly suggest The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #1) by Jennifer Ashley and Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage (Highland Pleasures, #2) by Jennifer Ashley . Also, almost anything from Victoria Alexander's Effington series.

I'm with you about dreamy Devil - he is one of my all time favorite heroes!

message 2810: by MrsJoseph *grouchy* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) @Lady D - I can do both but my contemporary needs to be steamy.

You should try Pamela Clare then. She writes great heroes. Historical and contemporary. Only thing is her historical series, MacKinnon's Rangers is not available right now. :(

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish MrsJoseph wrote: "@Lady D - I can do both but my contemporary needs to be steamy."

If it doesn't have to be action packed, I'd recommend Toni Blake's Destiny series. I loved them! Great stories and very steamy.

One Reckless Summer (Destiny, #1) by Toni Blake Sugar Creek (Destiny, #2) by Toni Blake Whisper Falls (Destiny, #3) by Toni Blake

I've reviewed them all if you're interested in check them out.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I just finished Ruthless Game (GhostWalkers, #9) by Christine Feehan and OMG! It was soooooooooooooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved Ruthless Game! Christine Feehan's books are getting better and better lately. Her latest two Carpathian novels are amazing, too!

message 2817: by La La (new)

La La | 132 comments Mrs. Joseph have you read any of Lisa Marie Rice's books. She writes really steamy contemporary novels. You can also try Shayla Blacks books. Her Wicked Lovers series is really hot. I'm a huge Shannon Mckenna fan, her men are definitely alpha's. As far as historical is concerned my favorite for a while has been Passion by Lisa Valdez. I really didn't like Patience, her second book. It didn't have the steam of the first. Oh yeah, and you can't go wrong with Charlotte Featherstone, Elizabeth Hoyt or Delilah Marvelle for steamy historical. I hope these suggestions help.

Ruthless Game was one of the best pregnancy/baby plots I've read in romance, especially pnr. I've just finished another of Lisa Kleypas's wonderful books: Then Came You (Gamblers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas . Lily and Alex Raiford are such a complex, endearing couple! Besides, I loved it that the story was somewhat deeper and more dramatic than usual. It made for a great read... Now, on to Daisy, the last Wallflower Scandal in Spring (Wallflowers, #4) by Lisa Kleypas

Jennifer (photofoxy) | 12 comments I'm reading so any books right now, it's not even funny. I went and picked some books that all of you recommended to me. But right now, I'm enjoying The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie, and let me tell you, I'm loving it! I think Ian is becoming my favorite hero lol. It's so refreshing to see the hero chasing after the woman and not the other way around! You don't read a lot of books like that nowadays.

Amanda (kittiescardigansbooks) | 207 comments It's so refreshing to see the hero chasing after the woman and not the other way around!

I totally agree with you Jennifer - it is my favorite when the man chases the woman. I am actually surprised that there are so many more books with the man being the pursued rather than the pursuer.

Yes it is :) I'm waiting on the third book from the library so I can finish up the series.

Just finished Scandal in Spring (Wallflowers, #4) by Lisa Kleypas and it was a good novel, though I found Daisy's story not as gripping as Evie's, for instance. Still, Matthew was a very good match for that elfin daydreamer! And to think there's no more Wallflower to pair... *brooding* Why couldn't Lisa Kleypas create 10 of those fine ladies at the beginning of the series? Like with the Hathaways, I would have gladly spent more time with her endearing heros. Now I'm starting another series, though quite different I'm told, with Promises Linger (Promises, #1) by Sarah McCarty . Regency rakes and spinsters good, but hot cowboys are such a great guilty pleasure too...

There is a Christmas story about Lily and Daisy's brother, La Chipie...it was pretty good and revisits all the Wallflowers!

@ Megan: wonderful! I have to read this. Thanks, pal!

@ Darcy: Oh, you'll like those books by Maya Banks! My favorite is Sweet Persuasion (Sweet, #2) by Maya Banks , but it's the submissive talking! LOL Sweet Seduction (Sweet, #3) by Maya Banks was good too, I like Nathan and Julie! Next book will be released in April and it's Connor's story. Can't wait!

message 2834: by ~Jennifer~ (new)

Now I'm working on Will of Steel (Silhouette Desire) by Diana Palmer .

Oh Katie, I hope you love that series as much as I do - I am completely hooked and the authors website has some FAB extras too - I think I am totally in love/lust with at least 3 of the characters. Mircea, Pritkin and Louis Cesare Woof!

Hi Lady D - I am almost jealous. You should enjoy Nos. 3 & 4 when you read them. I think the writing/characters and storytelling is quite exceptional - far too good for YA's, which whey were written for !

message 2842: by Suzisu (new)

Suzisu (sisuzisu) | 36 comments I am currently reading Wedding the Highlander (Highlander, #3) by Janet Chapman and also This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, #5) by Jeaniene Frost , but also listening to the audiobook of Firestorm (Weather Warden, #5) by Rachel Caine (I love Dina Pearlman as narrator, wonderful sardonic style suits it just brilliantly) so am getting a bit overloaded...

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) Just finished Late Eclipses (October Daye #4) by Seanan McGuire . I didn't start off liking this series, but I have to say that after finishing this book I can't wait til the next one in September. It's similar to Frost's Night Huntress...just with the fae instead of vampires. I really can't wait to see what's in store with Tybalt. He's elusive enough that's worked his way in under my skin. So that means I'll spend the next few months pining away to find out what happens next!

message 2847: by La La (new)

La La | 132 comments Out of the whole Twilight Series I only really liked booked 2. By book three and four I was tired of both Edward and Bella. Edwards moodiness was turning me off and Bella's whining was getting on my nerves.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish OMG, book 2 had me screaming! But it was a quick read because I skipped the Jacob parts. LOL

ME TOO, UM!! I hate Jacob Black.

message 2850: by La La (new)

La La | 132 comments Once Edward decided he was going expose himself to human so that the Vampire council could kill him because he thought Bella was dead, I was done. Suicide or even attempted suicide is not sexy or romantic to me.
