Currently reading Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas . Though I've started the Wallflowers series with books 2 and 3, I already take great pleasure in reading the 1st one. Simon Hunt seems like some interesting dude!

I love Simon Hunt....after St. Vinnie, he's my favorite of the Wallflower men!

Akaria Gale | 59 comments Aww, Gem. Sorry Demonica isn't doing it for you. I'm crazy about those demon brothers! Is the pacing too slow? Or do you not find Wraith believable?

I'm working on my second book by Sunny. Lucinda, Darkly (Demon Princess Chronicles, #1) by Sunny This author is kind of like crack. I'm not really invested in what happens to any of the characters but still can't stop reading. What's that about? Also digging into an erotica short with Kept by Carolyn Faulkner . Short, hot and kinky. Bring it on!

message 2754: by La La (last edited Mar 07, 2011 06:19PM) (new)

La La | 132 comments I found with the Sunny books she really didn't give you much about the characters to really get invested in them. These books are definitely erotic novels instead of erotic romance. I'm currently reading Original Sin (The Seven Deadly Sins, #1) by Allison Brennan . So far it's moving pretty fast paced. I do feel like I'm missing something. Like there another book I should read first.

I agree, Danielle. They usually annoy me..."

I'm with you on the politicians as well! They just don't really capture my interest. Having those characters as lovable is definitely a testament to Pamela Clare's writing.

Lynsey - my favorite of the I-Team books so far is definitely Extreme Exposure (the 3rd book). Have fun reading when you get it!

@Megan and La Chipie - I adore Simon Hunt. I'm with you Megan about him being my second favorite after St. Vincent. I just re-read Devil in Winter and I feel a re-read of Secrets of a Summer Night coming up!

Amanda, same here on St. Vincent and Simon Hunt. My exact order. My number three is still Derek Craven.

Gem, you might want to hang in there with Passion Unleashed. It takes a while to get going, but once it does, it's a great read, IMHO.

Derek Craven is my number one, then the others....he was my first Kleypas hero and will always be tops for me!

I felt the same way when I read that one too. Later I found out there was a prequel, it is What You Can't See. If you can put to the side Original Sin, to read this one first it will make more sense.

message 2759: by La La (new)

La La | 132 comments Thank you!!!! I knew there had to be something before this book. I felt like she was talking to me like I should already know the backstory. lololol

I know what you mean. I only discovered it as I started to read her back list of romantic/mystery thrillers.

message 2761: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (kittiescardigansbooks) | 207 comments I can't believe I forgot Derek Craven! He's tied with St. Vincent for me. I can't choose between the two! He was my first Kleypas hero too, and a memorable one at that.

Shellbelle | 161 comments Just finished Never Again (Wizards of Nevermore, #1) by Michele Bardsley and I really enjoyed it! (3.5 stars)

Think I'm going to read either Saddled and Spurred by Lorelei James or Accidentally Catty (Accidental Friends, #5) by Dakota Cassidy

message 2765: by [deleted user] (new)

Hello ladies! I already like Simon Hunt very much, but I'm not far into the book. Fot the time being, my favorites are still Merripen, McKenna and Derek Craven (in that order)... Though St. Vincent isn't far behind. Now to see if Simon is going to boot one of those fine gentlemen off the podium!

Shellbelle | 161 comments Okay, now I'm going to read Kleypas next... All your talk about the Hero's has me very interested:)

So I know Simon Hunt is from the first Wallflower, but what about everyone else?

@Shellbelle you will love Kleypas!!

St. Vincent is from the third Wallflowers book Devil in Winter....he becomes the hero after being a villain in the second book.

Derek Craven is from Dreaming of You, an amazing book!

Shellbelle | 161 comments @Megan thanks for the info! I'm finishing up Saddled and Spurred by Lorelei James (which I'm loving) and when I'm done, I'm going to read a Kleypas book. Trying to decide between Mine Till Midnight (Hathaway Series #1) by Lisa Kleypas and Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas ....

message 2772: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) | 1084 comments Mod
I'd recommend Secrets of a Summer Night.....the Wallflowers introduces some of the characters in the Hathaways series. But that's just my opinion...I'm kind of OCD about reading stuff in order.

I'm not sure. I'm just finding that I keep comparing it to the BDB and not enjoying it as much. *shrugs shoulders* I do like Lore though. May pick up his book to read.

Thanks @Megan! I'm glad you told me that, cause I'm OCD about that too! I hate reading stuff out of order, even when it doesn't really matter! And now I know what to start with!

Thanks both of you ^^

I really2 enjoyed Extreme Explosure.. :D

Right now I'm reading

Hard Evidence (I-Team, #2) by Pamela Clare ..

The plot is kinda slow, IMO :p

I hope I can enjoy this like the first book ;)

message 2777: by Cindi (new)

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 381 comments I am just finishing up Grave Witch (Alex Craft, #1) by Kalayna Price which is by far one of the best books I've read lately! New author recommended by Patricia Briggs.

message 2778: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (kittiescardigansbooks) | 207 comments Read Always a Scoundrel (Notorious Gentlemen, #3) by Suzanne Enoch and The Most Wicked of Sins (Seven Deadly Sins, #2) by Kathryn Caskie today. Both really good, although Most Wicked of Sins wins this match. :)

Going to give Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas a try!

message 2780: by ~Jennifer~ (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) So I took a little break, but now I'm back. I'm currently reading Dark Prince (Carpathians, #1) by Christine Feehan . I'm not sure that I actually like it. She went from "I don't know you - I can't" to declaring her love in 2.5 sentences. I don't know..maybe it's just me. When I'm done with this, I think I may revisit my buddy Barrons.

message 2781: by ~Megan~ (new)

I hated Dark Prince, Jennifer....luckily, the series improves after that. It took a lot to convince me to read the rest of them after that book, but I'm glad I did now!

I had heard how bad Dark Prince was, but I actually liked it. I do agree that the following Carpathian books are better. I give her credit because that was her first book, and she opened doors with that book.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Did you like it, Lady D? This one had me worried at first.

Sorry for my poorly edited post. :(

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Huh? I didn't see anything poorly edited!!! *hugs*

I'm just kind of confused about NQaH because I read the author's note in the back and it talks about two brothers where the youngest was part of another story, and then another brother was created for another story... and it lost me.

I think this story is related to Private Arrangements. But don't quote me on that.

Oh, and I'm almost crying when read Unlawful Contact.. Feeling sorry for Marc and all hell that he must face everyday :(..

I'm finish reading Unlawful Contact (I-Team, #3) by Pamela Clare and will continue to

Naked Edge (I-Team, #4) by Pamela Clare

This series, is very, very addictive ^^

For Sherry Thomas, I'd read the translated version of Private Arrangement, and I must said, it's not my favorite :(
And Danielle,His at Night is related to Private Arrangement, my friend said that :)

Really? I guess I'll keep going with them. It's taking me forever to finish this book. I'm on Day 4 and I'm notorious for finishing 2 or 3 books a night. It's really messing up my count. lol K. I'll stop whining now.

Jennifer, it took me a while to read Dark Prince as well.

message 2796: by MrsJoseph *grouchy* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) I've had a string of bad romances lately.

Passionate Heat by Rachel Kenley had NO tension between the H/h at all, other than a quick spat when they first run into each other.

Vital Signs 1 by Jamaica Layne was just bad, bad, bad. They took the idea of a dangerous hero and turned him into a jackass surgeon with the ego the size of the Grand Canyon with very little redeeming characteristics. I would go as far as to say that a lot of the relationship was abusive.

Saving Sophie by Elle Amery was cute but boring. The hero was blah and the story was forgettable.

message 2797: by [deleted user] (new)

Just finished Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas . Though I found in that book what I like most about Kleypas's writing, and Simon Hunt was a decent hero, the heroine annoyed me to no end and redeemed herself only at the very end. I've moved on to Then Came You (Gamblers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas and so far, the relationship between Alex and Lily promises to be explosive.
