Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) I've read so many good books this month!

The Duke (Knight Miscellany, #1) by Gaelen Foley , Wicked Intentions (Maiden Lane, #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt , Her Ladyship's Companion by Evangeline Collins (which, in addition to being a really good book, has one of the prettiest covers I've seen in a long time), One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, #2) by Jeaniene Frost , and Untouched by Anna Campbell

message 2613: by Dija (new)

Dija Just finished marathoning the Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs series. Not sure what I'll be reading next just yet, though.

message 2614: by ~Jennifer~ (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) I am now addicted to the Chicagoland Vampires series. ;) I read Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill & Friday Night Bites (Chicagoland Vampires, #2) by Chloe Neill yesterday. I just love weekends where i accomplish nothing but the art of lounging in lovely literary oblivion. I'm picking up with Twice Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #3) by Chloe Neill tonight!

it's pretty good so far but all the typos like "des par ate" are starting to annoy me!"

Hi Bianca!
I had to laugh when I read your comment. Some of the typos were soooo bad I had to reread the sentence a couple of times before it made sense. I thought the book itself wasn't too bad, the subject matter was just a bit too heavy for a Sunday night. I don't have a burning desire to read any of the follow-ups. Did you like it?

message 2616: by ConstantReader76a (new)

ConstantReader76a | 26 comments So.
Seducing Simon by Maya Banks wasn't too bad. But I really did not enjoy Bound By Honor by Diana Palmer that much. I think Lisa Marie Rice does it better. I'm a bit tired of bad boys who are in fact SEALs/DEA Agents/Spies/Vampires/Shape-Shifters etc. Are there any guys left who just have a lot of emotional baggage without the know-how to disarm a thermo-nuclear weapon?

message 2617: by ConstantReader76a (new)

ConstantReader76a | 26 comments Ha ha, this may seem a bit contradictory but I can't wait for This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, #5) by Jeaniene Frost which should arrive on my Kindle tomorrow morning at 10. What's the use of having a mind if you can't change it?

message 2634: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sharjonm) I'm currently reading Intimate Strangers (Eclipse Hearts, #1) by Gem Sivad ...a historical western published in 2009. Enjoying it :)
Anyone here who likes their dark and dangerous men in cowboy boots or moccasins?

message 2635: by ~Jennifer~ (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) mmm moccasins. :)

message 2636: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) | 1084 comments Mod
Moccasins make me happy! It's hard to find good Native American romances, though....I'm not a Cassie Edwards fan.

message 2637: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sharjonm) I attempted to read a Cassie Edwards years ago, and never again considered picking up another of her fluffy, silly books.

If you have any recs Megan or Jennifer, please pass them on to me. I would love it. Read Catherine Hart, Catherine Anderson, some of Heather Graham,s, Madelaine Baker, Janelle Taylor, Maureen McKade and of course Rosann Bittner...now Gem Sivad...

Always looking for more intelligent writers in this genre.

Catherine Anderson's Comanche books are fantastical....I haven't found any that compare, so I'm on the lookout, too!

message 2639: by ~Jennifer~ (last edited Feb 23, 2011 10:58AM) (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) To be honest I haven't read any. I'll start looking for some tonight! I should be done drooling over Bones soon. :)

Update: I've been looking and I've found two that look like they'll be pretty good (at least going by the summary).
Where the Rain is Made by Keta Diablo & Native Son by J. M. Hochstetler . Will let ya know when I'm done with them!

message 2640: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sharjonm) Thank you both.

I too like Anderson's Comanche books, waiting for Comanche Magic (Comanche, #4) by Catherine Anderson to come out...

NATIVE SON looks interesting, but I just can't wrap my mind around a grown white man becoming chief after he was captured...

Will check WHERE THE RAIN WAS MADE.

Did find another newer author besides besides Gem Sivad whose book I liked...
Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold by Ellen O'Connell Historical Western \ Half breed H - but there was so much family dysfunction interwoven - a little bit too much :<

message 2641: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) | 1084 comments Mod
Oh I loved Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold, Sharon!

message 2642: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sharjonm) Yep, I'm thinking of looking at some more of Ellen O'Connell's books.

But first, definitely Gem Sivard's. I noticed in these 2 newer author's writing they both have tint's of Bodice Ripper writing...and the reviews rank high in review ratings. So glad the moralists haven't jumped on the band wagon on them :D
O'Connell's heroine got pretty badly beaten...
Sivard's heroine was not only beaten, but raped.

So, wonder if the trend is changing. I say GOOD.

message 2643: by ~Jennifer~ (last edited Feb 23, 2011 01:10PM) (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) I thought the same thing about Native Son. I think that's why I want to read it...I'm a little curious how that happens. I think it reminds me a little of Sully on Dr. Quinn. I spent a lot of time drooling over Mr. Sully. :)

message 2644: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sharjonm) You are funny Jennifer.
Yes, Scully was a cutie LOL
But, just have to stick to those Dominate, Dark,
Dangerous, Bad Ass Alpha's
and
Mr Scully lacked (if my memory is working).

message 2645: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sharjonm) Sorry, he wasn't Scully - got my program series mixed up there. :D

Mr. Sully.

message 2646: by ~Jennifer~ (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) lol He had his moments there with his tomahawk and his running leap at various people. But yeah..he was more a warm and fuzzy than a dark and dangerous.

message 2647: by Tammy (new)

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) No tomahawks or cowboys for me this week!

I wasted a few hours the other day reading The Marriage Bed by Stephanie Mittman . The quality of the cover is a pretty good indicator of the rest of the book. Blech.

Then I read a great vampire adventure/romance Blood Lines (Victoria Nelson, #3) by Tanya Huff . I'm really enjoying this series so far -- the heroine is perfectly average! No fairy or vampire or werewolf blood, just a former cop with a degenerative eye disease.

I just started The Perfect Mistress by Victoria Alexander - it starts with the heroine trying to sell her great-grandmothers scandalous memoirs. Different, and good so far. With a beautiful cover photo.

message 2648: by Ren Puspita (new)

Ren Puspita (renpuspita) Finish reading The Hollow (Sign of Seven, #2) by Nora Roberts

not good as the first book

Right now, read both The Pagan Stone (Sign of Seven, #3) by Nora Roberts and Archangel's Consort (Guild Hunter, #3) by Nalini Singh , after I wait for 2 months to read this book
