I have Joss Ware's book but haven't gotten around to reading it, so many books so little time. Please let me know how it is.

I just started the IAD series and I'm on full length novel #2 and so far I'm not impressed.

Carolyn F. I finished Dark Desires (Dark Gothic, #1) by Eve Silver , didn't care for it. I'm now reading Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead and am not really caring for this either. I'm less than halfway through so I'm hoping that things change for me. So many people love this book!

@Jaime_Rush and @Lashell I love the Joss Ware Envy Chronicles! I thought they were pretty original and the dudes are super sexy!

Amanda (kittiescardigansbooks) | 207 comments Reading Finders Keepers by Linnea Sinclair and really liking it. Not a book for everyone, it is very much a sci-fi romance. If you do like sci-fi though, I would definitely recommend Linnea Sinclair's books. This is the third of hers that I will have read, and I have really liked each of them.

@Jaime and @Lashell - you will definitely like the Envy Chronicles! The first three were all four stars for me (although I have a soft spot for the first book)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) Just finished Shadowfever. *insert contented sigh* Perfect. I'll end up dreaming about Barrons...again. Can't wait! lol

About to finish Secrets of the Demon...

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Jennifer wrote: "Just finished Shadowfever. *insert contented sigh* Perfect. I'll end up dreaming about Barrons...again. "

I just heard there's no romance at all in this series, is that right?

message 2257: by ~Jennifer~ (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) It's not a romance, but it is in there. I highly recommend the series if you haven't started it. It's perfect!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Hmmm, I wonder why I was told there's none at all.

Thanks, Jennifer!

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments Boy, oh, boy, Caroline, you must read fast!

Blew through the Justine Davis trilogy yesterday, today I read the last of the series by Cait London, Tallchief The Hunter by Cait London and the debut novel of Mary Jo Putney's career The Diabolical Baron (Signet Regency Romance) by Mary Jo Putney .

#############SPOILER ALERT######################

I really liked the latter because it contains an excellent plot twist: the h/h each end up marrying their true love, but it's not each other!

I finished it too. I like how she left it open ended enough for the hint at another series.

I'm still reading Gone Too Far (Troubleshooters, #6) by Suzanne Brockmann . I'm almost finished. I know! I know. A big Sam Starrett fan like myself, I should have been finished the book, but I had to take care of other stuff.

I will be writing a review on this book on my new blog, hopefully by Sunday.

Whenever I would feel the need to visit Sam and Alyssa, I would go to this book to read their parts. I would also visit other books they are in, to read their parts and even read their short stories.

I wish that this book wasn't so long. The paper back is over 500 pages. Too much information that's not important to me in it. In my opinion, it should have just focused on Sam (his back story) and Alyssa. Tom and Kelly's love story could have stayed out and Max and Gina's too.

Arch, you are certainly not alone. I have done that for years, since I don't take the time to do full rereads much.

Oh yes! And it's really good so far. I actually think that Rohan, the hero, reminds me of a Garwood hero. One of her edgier highlanders, or maybe even Royce from The Prize.

I have to admit, I'm not doing a full reread of Gone Too Far, I have gotten tired of reading the side stories. Tom, etc. stories. So, I'm doing some skipping.

This is going to sound horrible, but because I hadn't heard of the author before, I assumed it wouldn't be any good. I'm about... 25% of the way through (I hate that Kindle doesn't give page numbers) and I really do like it! It starts out with a brutally powerful prologue and then goes straight to the action.

The tension between the H/h is strong and there have been a few humorous moments, too. I had a hard time putting it down so I could go to bed last night.

I've actually read Good Girl Gone Bad by Karin Tabke by the author and she is pretty good. So much so, I purchased the two following books in DTB because they were cheaper than the electronic downloads.

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) Finally got around to reading Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand tonight after I finished off Secrets of the Demon (Kara Gillian, #3) by Diana Rowland . Unearthly was a nice break. It was a relaxing read.
Now I'm about to start Star of the Morning (Nine Kingdoms, Book 1) by Lynn Kurland ...new author for me. Hopefully it's good! =D

message 2289: by MrsJoseph *grouchy* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) I'm currently reading (in addition to a few others) Dancing in the Moonlight (Cowboys of Cold Creek, #2) (Silhoutte Special Edition #1757) by RaeAnne Thayne - a freebie from Kobo. It's a departure from my normal romance reading - the hero is just a regular guy, nothing about him makes my heart go "pitter-pat." I picked this up because of the heroine: she was injured in Afghanistan and lost part of her leg. My brother is currently serving in Afghanistan, so I was very intrigued to see how the author would deal with the heroine's trauma associated both with being a soldier at war and being injured. I do feel she (the author) handled both aspects very well so far:

"I wasn't brave, Jake. I'm not some kind of hero. I was scared every single moment I served in Afghanistan. Every second. We were in a damn safe zone and I was still terrified out of my wits to walk outside. Anytime we had to leave the base, I just about soaked my Kevlar vest with slop sweat."

"But you still did it."

"I didn't have a choice! When you're a soldier, you go where they send you!"

The hero is a nice guy. He's the boy next door that the heroine always liked (but didn't admit it to herself) but always hated. He's nice, he's kind, he's not pushy in the least. He's BORING.

La La | 132 comments @MrsJoseph - I think the hero being boring is a good thing. I mean if the heroine is this traumatized and wounded I don't know if I would want the hero to be pushy.

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) Lashell wrote: "I just started rereading Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian. Since it's been a while since I've read a BDB novels I think I can read this series without the comparing the two"

I know a lot of people really liked the BDB...but for me they all started running together. I can't remember which book I stopped on - it was the one where some guy's wife was killed as well as another young guy's soon to be wife/girlfriend/something.

I really liked the first couple of books but I started to get dragged down until I quit.

message 2296: by La La (new)

La La | 132 comments @ MrsJoseph - I loved the BDB series. The only one I didn't like was Lover Enshrined. But I loved the others. I started Midnight Breeds right after and couldn't get into it because it felt like it was a BDB knockoff...so I stopped at book 2. I decided to try again. Now that BDB is a little fuzzy in my mind.

La La | 132 comments @ Megan - I loved the whole Urban feel of BDB. I'm a NYC girl and the series appealed to my love of ghetto fabulousness. I just enjoyed the all kick-assness (not a word lol) and hip hop references.
