I really need to reread the MacLean Curse series by Karen Hawkins! Seeing that you are about to read that book makes me want to read them again! I just read sooo many books that I confuse myself sometimes!

Mollie - I liked your review and I think this series works so well because of the interaction between the members of the family. 'Romancing Mr Bridgerton' is another of my favourites for various reasons including the fact that Penelope gets her HEA. There is a real surprise in this book as well. My favourite from the whole series is Francesca's story, 'When He Was Wicked'. Have you read this?

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) I'm currently reading Three Nights with a Scoundrel (Stud Club, #3) by Tessa Dare and Julian is really growing on me.

Yes, I've read through the series a couple of times, which is why I may have to run out and buy myself a replacement for the missing Romancing Mr. B.

Still reading the Yarn Harlot's latest.

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Laughed my way through Not Quite A Lady (Carsington Brothers, #4) by Loretta Chase by Loretta Chase, whose Carsingtons are amazing (5*), then read Linda Howard's After the Night by Linda Howard : I ended up with conflicted feelings with this one: I enjoyed the story, and started really liking the book about halfway through...
Before that however... Gray?? : What. An. Ass. I'm all for a tortured hero, but this was a little past what I enjoy..
Once they get to the second sex scene, the book got more enjoyable, and not only because that scene was hilarious:-) It feels like he finally grew up.. I liked her more in the first half, and him more in the second half... 3.5-4 stars.. (2* for the first third, then it moves up to 5* at the end)

Melanie, Angels Blood is very good. It's really dark and kind of gory. Just a warning. But, I was very impressed with Singh's reimagining of angels and how she tied angels and vamps together with a bow.

I would like to put a hit out on Gray. What an objectionable man. That book is my lowest rated LH book b/c I can't see why Faith fell in love with that jack*ss.

PS, I'm reading Gone (Gone, #1) by Michael Grant , and it's completely fascinating!

So jealous you already have Midnight Crystal! I've been at school/work the last two days from 9am-9:30pm, so I haven't had time to go to the store! I've been tempted to just get it (and Renegade (Elite Ops, #5) by Lora Leigh ) but there are authors that I just never get the ebook (generally the authors that I know I'll re-read their books alot!). I finally have some time to go to Barnes and Noble (my preferred bookstore) tomorrow! Can't wait!

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Finished Gotcha! (Love Spell) by Christie Craig last night: It was fab and funny, and the end had a good dose of angst between hero and heroine:-) The secondary characters were also very well developped and funny.. A definite 5 stars!

It was good, but not the best in the series. I'm going to start Veil of Night A Novel by Linda Howard because I have to get it back to the library.

So far Danielle, it has my attention. I don't like the nickname that was given to the hero though. A portion of it is a cuss word. I skip over the word. I hope he's not called that throughout the book.

message 1427: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Read Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James (5*) and Changeless (The Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger (4*) last evening, and just finished Promise Me Tonight A Weston Novel by Sara Lindsey , which I really enjoyed.. A sweet, slightly angsty, friends-turned-lovers plot that I enjoyed... 5*..

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments I hope you like them Mollie, Kev is my fave hero out of the books, but Seduce me at Sunrise is my least favourite book in the series, maybe that id just jealousy!

Yes, I really loved it. I liked the surprise ending that makes things so much better for their acceptance by the ton, but I won't spoil it for others by mentioning it here. BTW, I'm #64 in line at the library for Mockingjay, and I'm first in line for the other two but I've frozen the request until I can get all 3 at once.

About to begin Tempt Me at Twilight (The Hathaways, #3) by Lisa Kleypas

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments I have just finished "Mockingjay" I actually stayed up till early in the morning reading it, not intentionally I just had no idea what the time was as I was so engrossed. And well, let's just say whilst reading it you will need a steady supply of kleenex!

I am going to start The Unfortunate Miss Fortunes by Jennifer Crusie in the hopes t will now cheer me up!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments I haven't read the Hathaway wedding bit yet, I will have to download it! I am still waiting for the last two Hathaway books, I haven't read Leo's or Beatrix's yet as they don't come out here until Oct and Nov : (

Tempt Me at Twilight (The Hathaways, #3) by Lisa Kleypas Hot in Here by Sophie Renwick

Home sick today, wishing I felt up to running over to Half Price Books. I'll probably do a bit of browsing in the swap here and at PBS to make up for it.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments How did you like Hot in Here?

message 1439: by Mollie *scoutrmom* (new)

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments It was OK, the gratuitous sex scenes interrupted the flow of the plot enough that I'd only give it about 3.5 stars, but I do love the characters, the plot, and the settings. Remove 25% of the sex scenes and one would have a better book, it seems like she wrote a book and some editor said, "add more sex."
Bram Stoker and the Man Who Was Dracula by Barbara Belford will be next, gotta get away from fiction once in a while.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments It was very over-sexed, although what I remember most from the book was feeling hungry!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments That book looks interesting Mollie, it has got to be interetsing to delve into the life of the person who created Dracula

I think that was a theme in Skin Game (Skin, #1) by Ava Gray as well...the assassin falling in love with the assigned target.

Well, I finished and enjoyed Sizzling Sixteen (Stephanie Plum, #16) by Janet Evanovich then read and loved Burning Up (Includes The Iron Seas, Prequel; Children of the Sea, #3.5; Psy/Changeling #0.5) by Angela Knight
Now I'm back to Bram Stoker and the Man Who Was Dracula by Barbara Belford

Courtney (mrs_hf) | 164 comments Visiting the PNR world again for a couple of books!

Finished Demon from the Dark (Immortals After Dark, #10) by Kresley Cole last night. Had kind of a hard time with it. :( I felt SO SO SO bad for hero the ENTIRE time and almost ended up HATING the heroine because of her actions. Kinda harsh but very emotionally intriguing. Not as funny as her others but the story line didn't really call for it very often so *shrug*.

Started Sin Undone (Demonica, #5) by Larissa Ione this morning and already LOVING it! I forgot her "randomly bouncing around to different plot lines/people's perspectives" style and it's taking some getting use to after reading nothing but Julie Garwood and Julia Quinn for so long, but definitely thinking this book will be one of my favorites of hers. :)

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments I am reading Eternal Kiss of Darkness (Night Huntress World, #2) by Jeaniene Frost and loving it, I wasn't really that intrigued by Mencheres before, but now I just wanna give him a big hug!
