Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments On to Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #2) by J.R. Ward now :-) I love rereading these books:-)

UM, it's the only one I could find, so I'll have to wait till I'm in the US this summer before getting her other books:-) And I hope you and Arch enjoy Mr Perfect:-)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish They are re-releasing her Bird books... well, AUL and An Irresistible Bachelor, anyway.

Lol thank God:-) I was worrying about where I'd find them:-)) What about Heart of Gold? Do you know?

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I'm ASSuming they will re-release them all, depending on how well they sell. I managed to get all mine off of eBay for a reasonable price, so I'm hooked up.

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments Melanie wrote: "...I'm going on to reading Lover Awakened now.. my fave Brother:-p "

That's the next BDB on my list, but I've a few library books to get out of the way before I'm free to experience such bliss.

message 809: by Melanie (last edited Jun 27, 2010 06:21PM) (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Lol.. just finished with Z!! Love him:-)Apparently there's a short story featuring him (Father Mine?) that I have to find.. Butch will have to wait till tomorrow though, it's 3am here and I'm gonna have to wake up early... Only the Brothers make me not care, lol...

Molly... Z's story is so good:-) Like a decadent slice of chocolate cake:-p

The short story featuring Z and Bella is contained in 'An Insider's Guide to the Black Dagger Brotherhood'

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I just started Trial by Fire (Firefighters of Station Five, #1) by Jo Davis by Jo Davis. I've not read anything by her before, and nothing with firefighters. So far, so good.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Oh, I also grabbed a couple of Harlequins at the store today - Born on the 4th of July by Jill Shalvis and Simon Says... by Donna Kauffman . I'm starting to get in to the Harlequins.

Done with Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #6) by J.R. Ward and am finally ready to read Rehvenge and JM's stories.. I think I'll wait to do so till tomorrow though:-)

Lady Danielle "The Book Huntress" wrote: "You read so fast, Melanie."

Lol, Danielle, trust me, before they invented the Kindle, it was a curse when travelling:-) Now my suitcases are a lot lighter:-)

message 819: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Took a break from the BDB today and read Night Falls Darkly (Shadow Guard, #1) by Kim Lenox ... Not bad:-) 4 stars, it was a nice enjoyable read:-)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I liked that one, too, Melanie. It was a nice change.

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments Melanie wrote: "...Lol, Danielle, trust me, before they invented the Kindle, it was a curse when travelling:-) Now my suitcases are a lot lighter..."

I just got my Kindle as a gift last weekend, and I already love it. Got a free ebook erotic romance on it today... averages only 3.0 rating here, but you get what you pay for.

I am another fast reader, Melanie, I can do 4 books in a day if I've nothing else on the agenda. I've read over 40 already this month, do you keep track?

Hey, glad to see other heavy readers!! I've only started keeping track since joining GR in mid-March, and I'm keeping a "Melanie's Reading Lists and Challenges" :-)

For June, I'm at 63 books (2 posts in my reading challenges topics, lol) so far, and I'll probably only read about 2-3 more tomorrow:-D I think my max in a day in the past has been around 6 or 7 books..

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) Oh,if I could only come close to that.I am lucky sometimes to get 3 books a mo. read.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I can read really fast too. Easily 20 books in a day if I put my mind to it.

Now, ask me how much I remember? Or the names of the books? Or if I actually read them or used them more like a fan? ;)

message 826: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Lol.. yeah, I can usually reread a book 6 monthsa after reading it the first time (unless it was a great fave), cause the details get blurry:-)

lol I could never read 20 a day. My tops per day is maybe 3 or 4 silhouettes/harlequins.

I could read the synopsis of 20 books though :)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Like I said, those 20 might be used as fans rather than actually read ;)

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments I have the same problem recalling what I've read if I overload on reading. It depends on the book, I can knock out a Silhouette Romance in an hour, but a Nora Roberts will take several hours.

I blew through The Perfect Christmas by Debbie Macomber this evening, but didn't think much of it. If you care why:
Link to Mollie's reveiw of The Perfect Christmas

Currently reading The Dream-Hunter by Sherrilyn Kenyon, which is #11 in the Dark-Hunters series. I don't like the characters much yet.

I'm almost done with Heat Stroke (Weather Warden, #2) by Rachel Caine . I'll probably start Dmitry's Closet by Latrivia S. Nelson or Stolen (Women of the Otherworld, #2) by Kelley Armstrong next.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I just finished Trial by Fire (Firefighters of Station Five, #1) by Jo Davis and it was soooo good! I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

I'm going to start Love in the Afternoon (The Hathaways, #5) by Lisa Kleypas today.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish The next book is about Payne and Manny.

Oh, btw, am I the only one to have a fantasy about the cover model on Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #7) by J.R. Ward ?? Soooo hot! :-)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Melanie, that is an amazingly hot cover, I agree!!!

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Wow.. I just finished rereading Whitney, My Love (Westmoreland, #2) by Judith McNaught , which I read for the first time at 12, and at which I was utterly appalled at the callous way Clayton treated Whitney (I have my grandma's 1985 edition, lol)...

My memories of it gave it a rating of 2 stars, which just went up to 4.5* after rereading it this evening! The characters were very well developped, and although Clayton's cruel behaviour did annoy me, my heart was clenching for Whitney and him.. I just wish the ending had a couple more pages to it! I kind of thought she could have taken a bit longer to forgive him, lol... But it's been a while since I've read a bodice-ripper, and although it's not my usual cup of tea, I loved the book and am ordering the other two Westmoreland books, lol:-p

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Melanie, I've only read the newer one and really loved it. I've heard the original version is very un-PC.

I am having the hardest time finding Jo's books here locally!!! Guess I'm gonna have to order them. I really like her stuff so far (I've only read 1).

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Check Thriftbooks.com because they usually have great prices on their used books and offer free shipping in the US.

Cindi, otherwise bookdepository has them (free shipping), I just had a look:-)

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "Melanie, I've only read the newer one and really loved it. I've heard the original version is very un-PC."

Hi ladies, can I weigh in on this one? It's one of my favourite books and if you've read the new version, the old one is not that much different. Some slight differences in the riding crop scene and one love scene - the biggest difference is an addition at the end that adds a whole lot of pages and a tie-in between the first Earl of Claymore and Clayton. Still a great book.

message 847: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish (last edited Jun 30, 2010 07:43PM) (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish The new version has about 170 extra pages of some really, really amazing things. This is my review of Whitney, and I go into some detail about the things that I absolutely adored, which I don't think are found in the original version.

Dhes' review of Whitney, My Love

It contains scenes, traditions started in A Kingdom of Dreams, and carried on through the generations into Whitney, My Love. Even sitting here thinking about those scenes, I sigh. They were so, so touching.

I just realized how long that review is! LOL If you want to read what I'm talking about, scroll down about 1/2 way and start with this part:

My absolute favorite parts of the story occur in chapter 42 when we are unexpectedly swept back in time to revisit Royce and Jennifer Westmoreland from A Kingdom of Dreams.
