i liked need better since captivate felt very much like the middle book of a trilogy, if you know what i mean ;) there were some major developments but it felt a little bit rushed. it made me excited about book 3 though, esp with the addition of new characters. still was an entertaining read :)

ballad is sort of a continuation to the first book but with a diff central character - deidre's best friend james to be specific but honestly, i liked his story better. i have to say i fell in love with james and his cool, sarcastic ways.

i liked it because the story was different from other paranormal books i've read but the pacing was awfully slow. the story was too drawn out with not much happening most of the time although it did get really interesting towards the end. i'd recommend you to read it if you don't mind slugging through the first to mid chapters :)
