SOLVED. YA Girl Named Wallace/Wallis? [s]

I am trying to remember the name of a young adult book from the 80s. the main character was a conflicted girl named Wallace/Wallis. She was named after her grandfather....any ideas?

There's a book (Scholastic, maybe) from the 80s called Anything For a Friend by Ellen Conford where the protagonist was a girl named Wallis (after Wallis Simpson). She is new in town, wants to get in with the popular crowd, makes friends with a guy named Snuffy or Stuffy or something like that. The house she and her family moved into was revealed to be the location of a dreadful domestic murder and Snuffy arranges to throw a seance/party at Wallis' house.
