Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) | 130 comments I am still on The Screwtape Letters. I am also reading Death at Devil's Bridge by Robin Paige. I will start listening to Firefly Lane tomorrow. I listen better than I read. I can comprehend more that way.

**Carla** I think I will be too. I have Dear Joh on the go reight now too but I think it might be put aside for right now because it is good but not as good for me.

**Carla** Amelia wrote: "Right now, I'm reading "A Great and Terrible Beauty" for school, as well as "Night" by Elie Wiesel, for school as well. Good books, even if "Night" is depressing. It's incredibly powerful and wel..."

I read Night for school too and I really liked the book so when we had our own book report to do after that one with our own book choice I read the next for after that one called Dawn and it was really good too!!!

message 158: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) yeah they r

message 159: by KSMary (new)

KSMary I like Steve Berry also. I've also read The Romanov Prophecy and the Third Secret. I still need to read The Amber Room. The Third Secret was better than the Romanov Prophecy.

message 160: by Elizabeth☮ (new)

Elizabeth☮ When You Reach Me. i just started this last night. the librarian at school told me it won the newberry award. it's interesting.

message 161: by Ronda (new)

Ronda Tutt (rondatutt) I finished the High Druid of Shannara Trilogy by Terry Brooks last night.

Now I just started Morrigan's Cross by Nora Roberts

"It is Lilith who takes you. It is Lilith who makes you. The power of your blood will mix with mine, and we will rule this world, and all the others."

This will be my second time to read a Nora Roberts trilogy, the first one was the Sign of Seven Trilogy and it was good.

Ronda Tutt (rondatutt) KSMary wrote: "Hunger Games was hard for me to put down too. I had to read Catching Fire immediately."

I couldn't put the book down either and actually read it through out the night till I finished it. I read Catching Fire as soon as it came out and I was a little disappointed. Hunger Games got a 5 star but I gave Catching Fire a 3 star because I ended up skipping through pages due to it dragging out too long in some parts. I hope her 3rd book Mockingjay in this series will be better.

message 163: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm reading Night Embrace (Dark-Hunter, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon for our March challenge for green. So, far really good!

message 170: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) The Other Boleyn Girl is really good, way better than waht i thought

message 171: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) I agree with you LeONor.

message 172: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) ;) youve read it?

message 173: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) Yes I have read it and seen the movie. I thought the movie gave a great visual for the characters in the book.

message 174: by [deleted user] (new)

I still have not seen the movie:(

message 175: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) LeoNor you seem so surprised. :)

message 176: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) Elyssa the movie wasn't that great but they do have a special feature that names all the characters and there importance to the book.

message 177: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 19, 2010 08:17PM) (new)

The special feature sound neat.

message 178: by Karli (new)

Karli (goodreadscomkarli_is_booked) I am reading The Historian - it was odd, when I checked it out at the library, the librarian made a face at it and then said how she couldn't get through it. I'm probably 2/3 through, and I'm enjoying it - really interested to see how it ends. Seemed so odd she'd offer an opinion that way, I'd never met her before.

message 179: by [deleted user] (new)

Just goes to show that everyone has different tastes.

And that librarians don't read every book in their library.

message 180: by Karli (new)

Karli (goodreadscomkarli_is_booked) She tried to guide me towards Jodi Piccoult instead. I don't mind opinions, I really like it when people are engaged about the books they are reading, she was just so negative about the book as I was checking it out, I was really put off.

message 181: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) Jencey wrote: "Elyssa the movie wasn't that great but they do have a special feature that names all the characters and there importance to the book."

lol a friend of mine saw the movie and she said that though the costumes and everything was good, there was something missing (what she really said was "theres missing thevoom*makes a gesture with hands*")

message 182: by Emma (new)

Emma (emmauk007) Currently reading Shutter Island By Dennis Lehane and really enjoying it. I have never read any of Lehane's books before and I am becoming a fan already.

message 183: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) | 130 comments I am about to start Andrea Carter and the Trouble with Treasure (first reads).

message 184: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) Just finished Gone and wasn't overly impressed with it. I'm disapointed because it was the last in the series and though that it would be better. I'm now reading two books, the first is The Secret Garden wich is for school and I have to have finished and analysed for Monday. The second I'm reading just for me and is Some Girls Bite.

message 185: by Elizabeth☮ (new)

Elizabeth☮ The Man Who Loved Books Too Much The True Story of a Thief, a Detective, and a World of Literary Obsession by Allison Hoover Bartlett

very interesting.

message 186: by **Carla** (new)

**Carla** i am just finishing go Ask Alice. Have about 30 or 40 pages left then I will be starting Pretties by Scott Westerfield.

Dara | 85 comments Karli wrote: "She tried to guide me towards Jodi Piccoult instead. I don't mind opinions, I really like it when people are engaged about the books they are reading, she was just so negative about the book as I ..."

Wow...that would be aggravating Karli. It is fine for a librarian to offer suggestions of books that she has read that she thinks you might enjoy but to discourage you from reading what you are checking out??? I wouldn't like that either.

message 188: by Dara (new)

Dara | 85 comments I am currently reading The Book Thief...I am about 100 pages in and at first wasn't sure about it. But I am liking it so far!

message 189: by Karli (new)

Karli (goodreadscomkarli_is_booked) Thanks, Dara - I thought it was odd. And irritating! :P Planning on finising The Historian tonight - it's not like anything I've read before...Sophie's World probably comes the closest. It's very academic but with three different plots running in different time sequences, punctuated by academic material all around a Dracula theme - I cannot imagine how hard this was to write - and I don't even WANT to think about editing! Interesting, but totally NOT an easy read. (Librarian be damned! There IS an evil librarian in the book, perhaps????)

My friend finished The Book Thief and really enjoyed it, so it's now on my TBR.

message 190: by Elizabeth☮ (new)

Elizabeth☮ the historian is an excellent book! i loved it. i saw an interesting story about the author on 20/20. she traveled to romania to research her family's history. fascinating.

message 191: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) just finished the secret hour, about to start Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

message 192: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) its cool *shrugs* not one of the best books ive read but not that bad either

message 193: by Dara (new)

Dara | 85 comments Karli, I am liking The Book Thief but it is a bit different too. Let me know when/if you read it and what you think.

message 194: by Karli (new)

Karli (goodreadscomkarli_is_booked) I'll put it on my library list for next time and keep my fingers crossed. :) I started The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society today - I've heard from several people how good it is, so I'm excited.

message 196: by **Carla** (new)

**Carla** Finished Go Ask Alice today and started Pretties

message 197: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 150 comments My friends continue attempting to persuade me to read that, but I haven't wanted to...is it good?

message 198: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Jordan, the first 4 books of the series are great, but books 5 and 6 start to get overly far fetched and ridiculous. but 1-4 are definitely worth reading.

message 199: by **Carla** (new)

**Carla** that is so true i feel like i am just reading them because i have to now that I have read all six....and you have to get by thye language some times...bullpoopie..seriuosly it doesn't sound right. But the first four books are good though.
