Heather B (heatherbenson) Just finished reading Devoured and am now reading The Secret Garden for an ISU at school, I've always wanted to read this book because I loved the movie.

message 102: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 150 comments I love love love The Secret Garden. Did you ever read A Little Princess by the same author?

message 103: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) No I haven't read any of her books, but I watched the movie for the first time when I was really little and loved it and still do. I don't even know really what it is that I love so much.

message 104: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 150 comments Well, you must read A Little Princess.

thanks,

elizabeth

message 110: by Elizabeth☮ (new)

Elizabeth☮ great! here's my title. Pigtopia by Kitty Fitzgerald

message 111: by Cassandra (new)

Cassandra Kamp (ladyeskimo) | 1 comments I'm currently reading In the Forests of the Night by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes ... it kind of makes me impatient.

Andrez (andrez-ssi) Elizabeth wrote: "just started pigtopia. it's interesting."

pigtopia?

message 113: by Elizabeth☮ (new)

Elizabeth☮ it's about a man/boy, jack plumb, that has some type of deformity -it's never really disclosed, but he resembles a pig. or at least his alcoholic abusive mother thinks so. he befriends a young girl, holly lock, and introduces her to his world of pig rearing. very intriguing, but i'm only 79 pages in. i have a feeling it leads to some tragic end.

message 114: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) ooh

Denise (redreader) | 34 comments I just finished Roses by Leila Meacham - hints of Gone with the Wind style - Good read.

Went to the library today and picked up several to read - Starting with Black Friday - The newest from Alex Kava

message 116: by Karli (new)

Karli (goodreadscomkarli_is_booked) I am reading Unless - it's been slow going. I'm not sure if it's that I'm not reading as much or not that into it. I like the prose, and the story seems interesting, but...just not going that quickly!

message 117: by Elizabeth☮ (new)

Elizabeth☮ now reading Scar Tissue. read almost one hundred pages last night. not particularly a chili peppers die hard fan, but intrigued by the story of success and the hard drugs.

**Carla** I am reading Tempted right now...book 6 for the house of night series. It is ok. The first books were better but I will keep reading them because I still want to know what happens ultimately.

message 127: by Amelia (new)

Amelia (ameliarobinson) Right now, I'm reading "A Great and Terrible Beauty" for school, as well as "Night" by Elie Wiesel, for school as well. Good books, even if "Night" is depressing. It's incredibly powerful and well-written, just very depressing.

Heather B (heatherbenson) I loved A Great and Terrible Beauty, it was a great book.

Good Book, I liked the De Vinci Code too. His new book The Symbol was ok, the other two were better. Enjoy and Happy Reading

I didn't like A Great and Terrible Beauty. The main character (don't remember her name) never learned from her mistakes. She never grew as a person.

message 135: by [deleted user] (new)

I like Angels and Demons better than The Da Vinci Code but I enjoyed both of them.

I thought she did, but I guess it's all based on opinions, not everyone is going to like it and not everyone isn't. But you're definietly not the only person that didn't like the book.

Ronda Tutt (rondatutt) Wow I just finished Night after Night by Kathryn Smith and it was excelent. I give it 5 stars.

I'm going to start Jarka Ruus (High Druid of Shannara #1) By Terry Brooks. There are 3 books focused on the Druids In "The Sword of Shannara" Series.

1. Jarka Ruus
2. Tanequil
3. Straken

The Sword of Shannara Series is a great fantasy read. So far I have read in this series:

Shannara:
1. The Sword of Shannara
2. The Elfstones of Shannara
3. The Wishsong of Shannara

The Heritage of Shannara
1. The Scions of Shannara
2. The Druid of Shannara
3. The Elf Queen of Shannara
4. The Talismans of Shannara

The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara
1. Ilse Witch
2. Antrax
3. Morgawr

After I finish "High Druid of Shannara" then all that will be left for me to read in this series is the following:

Genesis of Shannara
1. Armageddon's Children
2. The Elves of Cintra
3. The Gypsy Morph

message 143: by **Carla** (new)

**Carla** I am currently reading Dear John now and will be starting Hunger Games as well. And I just a call from the library that the books I reserved are in so I think that's another 2 books The Pretties and Go Ask Alice.

Not really. I read the second one as well (Rebel Angels, I think) and felt the same way. I know people who loved the books, but I'm not one of them.

Right now, I'm reading Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold for school. It's good.
(Of course, I'm also reading around three non-school books)
