Soe of my favorites to read while I'm waiting for a new NR (or not re-reading NR) are J.D. Robb (of course), Kristin Hannah, Linda Castillo, Emily Giffin, Patricia Briggs - but I see alot of other authors on this thread that I've never considered reading so I'll be giving them a try also.

Some of my favourite authors are Lisa Kleypas, Julie Garwood (though I've yet to read a contemporary of hers due to fear that they won't stand up to her historicals, which I love) J.R. Ward, and I also love are Lorelei James and Maya Banks, whose historicals read like Garwood's--though Garwood's are by far, much better.

I've read a couple of her contemoporary rom-suspense novels and liked them. Murder List is one that comes to mind. My sister and BIL also read and liked that one.

I read her contemporaries first so I'm a bit biased. The series is really very good but my friends that started with her historical seem to prefer them.

I read a lot of her books and like them, both the historical and the contemporary ones. but my aunt loves the historical ones and hates the contemporary ones.... people seem divided with her books

I have to try one and see. Romantic suspense isn't a genre I read much of, I'm more into PNR and historicals. Then contemporary, and then erotic romance.
