Which one is that?

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments All right finished Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs (Jane Jameson, #1) by Molly Harper Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men (Jane Jameson, #2) by Molly Harper Nice Girls Don't Live Forever (Jane Jameson, #3) by Molly Harper , I am now a huge fan!! I highly recomend them!

I've been reading The Goblin King (Shadowlands, #1) by Shona Husk , it's a fun PNR title. Really digging the Goblin mythology.

I'll have to try the Hoyt. I like her Maiden Ln books, but don't connect with the Prince one's enough to rate ..."

I'm loving Hoyt's Legend of the Four Soldiers series. All of the heroes have suffered a lot after their return from war. I'm really looking forward to her Maiden Lane series!

Tya | 846 comments I just read Celebrity in Death (In Death, #34) by J.D. Robb which was really good. It was nice and light hearted (as much as a murder mystery can be, anyway) after the heaviness of New York to Dallas. Seriously. I want a Roarke of my very own.

I read that one this week too. I liked how they kept talking about the real person vs the fake one.

SamBFN | 88 comments I read and finished a Kindle freebie from earlier this week Forged in Fire by Trish McCallan it is a romance suspense with Navy Seals but the hero has psychic ability. It was really enjoyable and I recommend it. It is the first book in a series, the rest haven't been released yet.

message 1657: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments Isle of Night (The Watchers, #1) by Veronica Wolff it was really good some are saying that is is similar to Vampire Academy and in a way it is but its more similar to me Morganville Vamps meet The Hunger Games. The Vamps in this book are the Bad guys and they run the town.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments I just got that one Chakara, it sounds great.

Tya | 846 comments I just gave up on Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires, #1) by Rachel Caine I made it until about disc 4 or 5 out of 7. The mean girl who tries to kill Claire is just so...mean. And there is no reason for it, at least not one that they ever get in to. And when the chick is literally responsible for murdering folk and isn't even a vampire just has "protection" being a mean girl isn't reason enough. I need to hear that Claire tramped it up with her boyfriend or something. And Claire is super whiny. She has her reasons but seriously.

I'm reading the Malory Family series by Johanna Lindsey right now and love the family. Those boys are a handful and I love the banter.

I had the same problem when i first tried to read the book. She isnt so winy in the second book and the series gets better as it goes along atleast for the ones I have read. However I get everything your saying it took me about two years to pick it back up and pull it off my "annoying" shelf lol. After I did I was hooked. I have been reading the bind ups but even though they had been coming out on a regular basis they have slowwwwed way down so I just ordered book 9 for 4 dollars on amazon bargain books.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments Angela wrote: "I just finished Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah it was a very good book :) I enjoyed it and will probably move other Kristin Hannah books to the top of my list"

I've really been wanting to pick up one of her books I saw a review on Firfly Lane and the person was crying their eyes out. It made me want to read but not want to read as I really dont like to do much crying over books now days. I do enough of that in real life :).

message 1663: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments I just finished Girl, 15, Charming but Insane and it was, by FAR, the funniest book I've read in a long time. Jess is hilarious.

message 1664: by SamBFN (new)

SamBFN | 88 comments This week I read:

A Perfect Blood (The Hollows, #10) by Kim Harrison which was an excellent addition to the Hollows series.

and

Rainshadow Road (Friday Harbor, #2) by Lisa Kleypas which was a cute read.

I've got the Harrison coming up, but I'm struggling through Clockwork Prince right now.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Finished up Isle of Night (The Watchers, #1) by Veronica Wolff and loved it!! Makes me have faith in YA vamp stuff again.

Also just finished Entangled (Spellbound, #1) by Nikki Jefford and loved it!! Finaly some decent YA witch story!!

Just started Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand , right now way too many "I" usage in the first person.

Unearthly is slow paced but I find the characters and the plot more likeable than Fallen and you really get to know their personalities.

The Second book in the Watchers comes out in a couple days I think! cant wait :)

Oh Vampires Kiss hits shelves tomorrow. WOOHOOO :) WE PICKED A GOOD TIME TO START THE SERIES . and the 3rd comes out later this year too.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments So excited for it!! However, I know I won't get my hands on it for a long while . . .

message 1670: by SamBFN (new)

SamBFN | 88 comments I just finished I've Got Your Number A Novel by Sophie Kinsella which was okay, I didn`t enjoy it as much as Kinsella`s other stand alones. The book reads more like her Shop-a-holic books, if you like the Shop-a-holic books you would probably like IGYN.

I also read a kindle freebie Highland Mist (Druid's Glen, #1) by Donna Grant which I found okay.

And finally, I read another kindle freebie Pretty Persuasion by Olivia Kingsley which I enjoyed and would recommend if you like historical romances.

Thats not a bad thing you'll prob end up reading it either right before the 3rd comes out or after so then you can go right into the next one. lol thats always a good thing with a good action packed series.

message 1672: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments I just read Ripple by Mandy Hubbard and I really liked it. (view spoiler) But other than that it was a really good, fun, quick read.

Good point. I do that a lot with other series, it's so painful waiting to read the next book.

message 1674: by Casey (new)

Casey (caseyjohnson432) | 5 comments I just finished Hallowed (Unearthly, #2) by Cynthia Hand AND I DONT KNOW WHO IM IN LOVE WITH ANYMORE. This has never happened to me before. I usually stay loyal to the characters that i fall in love with (Tucker) but i guess this author is just that amazing and pulls off the unthinkable. So the heck with it! I don't care who she falls and eventually marries and has babies who are extremely rare angel blooded people! i dont care! because i love both of them! bwaaaaah. GO TEAM CHRUCKER! Whooop Whooop!

A Perfect Blood (The Hollows, #10) by Kim Harrison

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments sigh, I have to wait for A Perfect Blood. Paperback release please . . .

message 1679: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments I just finished The White Queen it was really good I didn't think that I would like it but it turned out okay although the ending seemed a bit rushed and there is no continuation although we can look up the history in the books as to how the story ended if we had no idea it as a fictional novel it was incomplete.

message 1680: by SamBFN (new)

SamBFN | 88 comments Finished Fair Game (Alpha & Omega, #3) by Patricia Briggs in audio format today which was a solid 5 star for me. I am enjoying the growth in Anna and Charles. I thought the ending was intriguing and looking forward to see how the Mercy Thompson worlds will be moving forward.

message 1681: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments Finished The Red Queen (The Cousins' War, #2) by Philippa Gregory and Hallowed (Unearthly, #2) by Cynthia Hand looking for a good audio now my audible credits are here. I thought about upping my credits but i dont even know whatbto do with what i have now.

message 1682: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments Chakara I use my audible credits for those series that I really like, the ones that I know I will re-read. It is interesting reading the series like that, gives me a different perspective.

message 1683: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments I love the Elemental Assassin series on audio. I am listening to the newest now. : )

Casey (caseyjohnson432) | 5 comments i just read Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier and it was amazing, and now i have to wait for what seems like eternity for it to come out. Of course. *sigh*... -.-

message 1685: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments I just read Unraveling Isobel by Eileen Cook I really liked it but kind of (view spoiler)

And Vacations from Hell by Libba Bray
Has stepbrother dating/lusting always been popular or is this a new thing?

message 1686: by Tya (last edited May 19, 2012 08:16AM) (new)

Tya | 846 comments Ok. I officially, LOVE John Green. The man is a genius and I want to run off with him and let him tell me stories all the day long. Paper Towns by John Green was amazing! And so was An Abundance of Katherines by John Green

I tried to read Falling Under (Falling Under, #1) by Gwen Hayes but I had to walk away.

message 1687: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 432 comments I just finished Black Heart (Curse Workers, #3) by Holly Black , which is the 3rd in the series (I think it's a trilogy, but she did leave a couple of things open-ended). It was a good finish to the series and I was happy how things turned-out for the MC.

message 1688: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments I just finished The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith and it was just so charming. I really, really enjoyed it. The sweetness of it all reminded me of Anna and the French Kiss.

Finding the Lost (Sentinel Wars, #2) by Shannon K. Butcher

This one is nice because it works for Nebraska, Alabama, or Missouri for the state challenge =).
I was so-so on the first book, but I find that I'm starting to get interested in this series now.

That is one series that gets better as it goes along.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Finished Sugar Daddy (Travises, #1) by Lisa Kleypas , and I quite enjoyed it. Lisa is just amazing.

message 1692: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 432 comments Masque of the Red Death (Masque of the Red Death, #1) by Bethany Griffin I was not impressed, which is a pity because I had been looking forward to reading it.

Shera, I just finished her Wallflowers series and I was debating where to go next. I haven't tried any of her contemporaries yet....

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments The contemp was good, she's the first Romance Contemp that I've really, really liked.

message 1694: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I will second Kleypas's contemporary books, they are good.

The Travises were really good. I could even re-read those.

message 1696: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments I just listened to Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly and what a great book! I'm glad that I did audio she was fantastic! Since I finished it I've been on a tear to find out more about The Dauphin and what a horrible story. So, of course, now I need to know more about The French Revolution. And I want to go to Paris solely to take a tour of the catacombs. You have to love a fiction book that makes you want to learn something.

message 1697: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments I just finished Vampire's Kiss by Veronica Wolff and The Golden Lily (Bloodlines, #2) by Richelle Mead both were great reads i like that veronica wolff has this series coming out every few months with the next one due out August :) and ofcourse love Bloodlines series :) always <3 Adrian.

Double the Heat by Lori Foster
Light, but cute.

message 1699: by Samantha (last edited Jul 26, 2012 10:23PM) (new)

Samantha | 432 comments When the Sea is Rising Red by Cat Hellisen very moody and atmospheric, but I didn't really connect to the characters like I would have liked.

message 1700: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I finished reading Silksinger. I enjoyed the story line. There were enough loose ends to allow for another book in the series and the major conflicts were resolved. I hope there is another book.

I listened to Storm Front and though I read the book I took note of many more events with the audio than I did when reading the story.
