Katie i think you should move it to the top of your pile you wont be disappointed! i read it four years ago, purchased it for three friends and finally just bought a copy for myself. i also just read his next book that i waited four long years for and was not disappointed!

I love this book. It has so many twists and turns and beautiful descriptions that it is hard to put down. There is a certain pull that begs you to keep reading because you always think you know what's going on until you get a few more pages in to discover you were wrong. Again. His other book Angel's Game is also a great book set in the same place with a few of the same characters woven in. Fantastic author.

Oh Katie, you MUST read this book NOW. In my humble opinion, this is one of the greatest fiction works of all time. A masterful tale gorgeously woven through an amazing plot and spun with stunningly beautiful writing that will enthrall you to the last page. I agree with Summer that both this one and Angel's Game are great books. I sometimes base my choice in a book purchase by the title (Silence of the Lambs, Lord of the Flies, etc...), not the best method, but with this book it was well applied. I recommend it to everyone!

Shadow of the Wind is one of those books you will go back to again and again. The writing is beautiful and the imagery exceptional. This has to be my favorite book ever.

I think is one of those books that you just want to keep reading to see what is happening, that the idea to put it down may cause some anxiety; but at the same time the idea of finishing it...is so sad! The characters are all extremely well written, even the books become another one - just as strong. You learn to love them the way Daniel's dad does.

If you like books like this, easy to read and kinda mysterious and lil-bit-playful you should try "The Girl that Chased the Moon", a different book but the same need-to-read-the-next-page-to-see-what's-gonna-happen-power.
