I hate how there are kids in this group!
I agree. I mean the I hate cock thread is enough to warp their fragile little minds...I don't want to lose THC to a bunch of whinny bastards, where are their parents? Why are these little kids on this site at 3 am on a school night?

ok, i'm going to play devil's advocate here. i don't really think there are any threads we have on here, or could potentially have (and yes, i'm including the i hate the cock thread, which could possibly be the most hilarious thing on the entire goodreads site) that would irreparably damage their fragile young minds. i understand the discomfort (especially in those of you with children yourselves), but i don't think they need or deserve for us to censor or check ourselves for their benefit. i mean, i was reading dan savage and the dating diva when i was their age, and i turned out just fine. i'm sure most of you were similarly exposed to "inappropriate" things at an early age, and are probably all the better for it. if their parents either don't care, or are too lax to control their internet usage, why should we? then again, i'm think it's ridiculous to attempt shelter teens and tweens from "adult" things, especially if they have internet access. that's just my 2 cents.
Them being here doesn't bug me but that doesn't mean that I'm going to respond to their ridiculous threads and reinforce their ridiculous behavior. Not that all kids are ridiculous or anything but some of these threads are clearly just attempts to stir the pot and get people going, not worth my time.

Oh cmon, sure, it's probably best if they could keep they're homework and school issues on a seperate folder, but otherwise, I think it's good. Maybe some of you could keep the sexual talk only on that folder, it would make some of us less unconfortable, (and annoyed).
sex, drugs, religion, politics. It's all bound to get uncomfortable and annoying at some point, regardless of your age...

hmm... never thought about it that way. i know that most people get hooked to smoking because they started so young. which is very true because i took a class on it... but i mean most of my friends just test it out... and then thats it. like.... i dont know hard to explain.but dammit i cant find the right words. ill get back to this

kay its something like. teens should experiment because if they things out later like in their late teens they'll keep on doing it because they like the feeling but they shouldn't do that because its like partying after you get married. its just not right.ya know?i hope this makes sense. teens experiment and if they like it they keep doing it but its easier to stop what your doing because eventually we get bored of doing it then just go back to our sober lives and we'd still have lots of time like years wise to get back on track unlike an adult.

Alright, seriously. I am 16 and believe me- You can hear worse stuff on TV than what you guys are talking about! If you dont want "kids" in your group, then SET IT TO PRIVATE AND ONLY ADD ADULTS. Sheesh. Not that frickin hard.
