Ralph Gallagher | 210 comments This is one of my favorite gay YA novels. It kept me wanting to read more and I couldn't put it down.

That said, there we a couple things I didn't like. The ending seemed anti-climactic and there were a couple scenes I could've done without. The Pablo scene in the freezer was just creepy and unneeded, IMO. Also, "Fessica" is a crappy name.

(Insert shameless advertising: You can see my entire review on my blog http://dancing-dove.blogspot.com/2009...)

What did you guys think about this?

Dylan (greendragon06) | 53 comments I have never heard of this book before, but I'm always looking for new books to read, so I'll have to look it up, it sounds interesting.

Nancy | 2838 comments I like your review, Ralph. I've been really happy with the YA fiction I've been reading lately and will definitely check this out. My library doesn't have a copy, but I can get one easily enough through ILL.

Ralph Gallagher | 210 comments I've been happy with the YA fiction I've been reading too. That's mostly due to reading books that Thomas recommends. (He has pretty good taste in books.)

Nancy | 2838 comments Yes, he does have great taste in books and hasn't steered me wrong yet. :)

Thomas | 14 comments I loved The Vast Fields of Ordinary :)

I came across VFO at the bookstore. The cover caught my eye so I decided to buy the book. A choice I don't regret.

Doug Beatty | 432 comments I really liked this one. I thought the characters were very realistic and I loved the story... I think he is an author to watch.

Saul (saulroxsox) | 1 comments I ordered it off Amazon and it arrived in about a week. I started it on Valentines Day morning and I did not put it down until I was finished. I loved the story and the characters. I left me thinking where is my Alex Kincaid?????

Jay Bell (jaybell) | 39 comments I'll have to get this one. I'm in love with the title alone! I've never found naming books or stories at all easy.

Juli (mrsmarit) | 4 comments I finally managed to get my hands on this from the library and it was everything I had heard it was. I agree that the ending was a little weird but the thing with Pablo totally caught me from left field and in a good way.

Hopefully I'll be able to pick this up somewhere soon so I can read it again.
