Beverly | 64 comments Hi, I just began reading Lisa Kleypas recently. I love her books and this group. I have the Gamblers, Bow Street Runners, Wallflowers, Hathaways and Travis books. I thought I'd read in this group somewhere about how these all tie together or have reoccuring characters, but I can't find the post. Can someone help? Thanks!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Hi Beverly. Here's the short of it.

There's a vague connection between the Gamblers, Bow Street Runners, Wallflowers, and Hathaway series.

There is a recurring character, Doctor Lynley, who appears across the series.

Also Derek Craven (from the Gamblers series)'s rival Ivo Jenner, is the father of Evie Jenner, who is in the Wallflower series.

Lord Westcliff, the hero of It Happened One Night, is the patron of the Bow Street Runners, so he shows up in Worth Any Price.

The Hathaway series is connected to the Wallflowers through Cam Rohan, who worked for Lord St. Vincent and Evie, Lady St. Vincent. Cam marries Amelia, the oldest Hathaway sister, in Mine Till Midnight.

The Travis books aren't connected, from what I can recall.

I think those are the main connections, but someone else might be able to shed more light.

Danielle, would you recommend reading any of the above mentioned series (Wallflowers, Bow Street, Hathaways) in any particular order? e.g., which series first? Thank you.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments According to Fantastic Fiction, this is the order her series were written in. Many times, people from one series overlap into the next. Cam Rohan is a great example. He played a role in Devil In Winter from Wallflowers, but was the hero in Mine Till Midnight in the Hathaways.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Peg, I'd say to start with the Wallflowers. The first book is Secrets of a Summer Night, although Again The Magic introduces Lord Westcliff, who is in the second book, It Happened One Autumn. I hope I didn't confuse you!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments The Wallflowers series was my first series by Kleypas :)

so actually Again the Magic belongs with the Bow Street Runners, not as the first book in the Wallflowers series.

In MY opinion, it more belongs with Wallflowers, because Westcliff was barely mentioned in BSR, and ATM is loaded with Westcliffs.

If it were me, I would first read Again the Magic, then the rest of the Wallflowers, because that makes the most sense.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Oh, and I should also mention that ATM used to be listed as a stand alone on some sites, Fantastic Fiction (where I got the information I posted) is one them. They've since changed it to what I listed above. My guess is they did it that way because, regardless of how small, Bow Street Runners is where Westcliff was first mentioned.
