That's good to know! I had all of the books, but traded them in at the used bookstore a while ago. I didn't feel right about it, so I bought the set again off of ebay this weekend. I'm planning on giving the series one more try. I won't be so hasty trading in anymore books either.

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I'm still working on Surviving Demon Island (Demon Hunters, #1) by Jaci Burton . It's not that its not interesting, I'm just shaking off my reading funk. I'm out sick today, so hopefully I'll finally be able to finish it.

Ѽ Cher Ѽ | 125 comments Hey Ladies ... miss y'all on the reading challenge this month. Just surfing GR. Thought I'd say Hi ... HI! LOL.

Been reading a few this month ... The Sweet Spot by Kimberly Kaye Terry The Politics of Love (Noire Fever) by Giselle Carmichael and The Darker Side of Pleasure by Eden Bradley .

Just finished reading Wicked Ties (Wicked Lovers, #1) by Shayla Black Good book. But, this book is a little more than the others above. HaaaaTTT!!! It certainly shoved me out of my comfort zone! I have the "Wicked Lovers" series on hand, so I thought I'd read the next book in the series ... Decadent (Wicked Lovers, #2) by Shayla Black . Got to chapter 3 and I'm toasted! I think I've OCD'd on the whole erotica/BDSM read. I need something with a bit more bite! (Pun intended) Started Destined for an Early Grave (Night Huntress, #4) by Jeaniene Frost today. Love this series! Ahhh! lol

Maybe I'm just out of touch, but I thought that if an ebook was compatible with the Kindle, that it was also compatible with the Nook. Is that incorrect?

I haven't read it but I think C.T. Adams has a few books in her Tale of the Sazi series that are like that, but I could be mistaken on that. If I come across any other titles, I'll be sure to post them here.

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I finished reading Surviving Demon Island (Demon Hunters, #1) by Jaci Burton , which I really enjoyed. I think it could actually be turned into an enjoyable movie. I'll be starting Ebony Eyes by Kei Swanson tonight, or sometime tomorrow.

Kelley (shewolf0316) Michelle wrote: "Maybe I'm just out of touch, but I thought that if an ebook was compatible with the Kindle, that it was also compatible with the Nook. Is that incorrect? ..."

No they aren't necessarily compatible. Both can read PDF files but the primary files Kindle reads and Nook reads are separate formats and can't be read on the other. Kindle is a proprietary format based on mobipocket so IF a book can be converted to mobi, or PDF, it can be read on Kindle. Nook's primary format is ePub and it's the same type instance where if a book can be converted to ePub or PDF it can be read on Nook.. Fortunatley most anything as long as it is not DRM secured can be converted to both mobipocket AND ePub so then they can be read on both.

I do have a lot of the same books on both devices, in different formats. But I also have some on each that can't be converted to the other so are only on one device.

Thanks for the explanation Kelley. Just one more silly question, when purchasing an ebook does it say whether or not it's DRM secured?

Sometimes. Usually it's more of a publisher decision and you can find that on their website. But it's not usually obvious. You have to hunt for that info sometimes.

I prefer paperbacks, but there are so many books that I want to read that aren't available in pb that I'm starting to serious look into purchasing an e-reader. That, and I'm starting to feel behind the times. LOL!

Okay ... so I'm not alone! This was one of those hard reads for me! I was so excited to get to it but once I did ( after the first 80 pages ) ... I just went threw it like ripping off a band aid. I found it a bit overly grusome at the begining, could'nt get into the characters, who was the "good" guy? ... I don't know how soon to never I will get back to the series myself, but I may look into her other book a bit earlier that his one. Oh well, just my opinion. Cheers!
