I'm reading
a mystery but historical. About halfway through and I'm liking it. I usually don't read mystery but the historical part caught my eye so... giving it a try.

This series does revolve around a murderer though, so story has some killing involved, but the main characters banter is pretty funny. Jack Daniels and her partner Herb are quite funny together.

Cool thanks!
I'm rereading
and listening to
on audio in the car. Since I'm on Thanksgiving dinner duty, I don't dare start anything new. Next weekend I'll start
and
.
Finished Murder on Astor Place it was pretty good, I liked it :) Going to start
next, even though I just found out it's 3rd in a series... oh well, I'll read it anyway.
I very rarely read a series in order. I usually end up picking up whichever book appeals to me most. If I like that, then I'll read the others in whatever order I end up buying/finding them.
Sandra J wrote: "I very rarely read a series in order. I usually end up picking up whichever book appeals to me most. I'll find a book, bring it home, and then realize it's part of a series.
If it's really good, I'll hunt down the others.
If I don't know the author I usually do the same thing Sandra J and Kristi. I think it's a good way to try out a new author- just reading whatever you pick up/find whether it's part of a series or not.

Valorie and Kristie - I like all the Jack Daniels books - sometimes the humor and the horrible situations seem a little jarring next to each other. I think they are very well written.
I have finished
and of course was so amazing that I am glad I have
from the library... I will be starting that shortly.
I just finished moving back to NY from TN, yay!!!!! But, I'm still working on
, and probably won't get to it for days to come :(
Megan wrote: "I have finished

@Ruth: Thanks! The more who like a series usually the better it is. @Michelle: Back to NY? Why?!?!? I'm kidding. I'm from NY, and just couldn't imagine moving back to all that snow. UGH! LOL
@Meghan: Great series!! Enjoy!

I've forgotten how cold it can be that's for sure! I just remembered that my book is outside in the car, and I just refuse to go out there and get it now, LOL!
Michelle wrote: "I've forgotten how cold it can be that's for sure! I just remembered that my book is outside in the car, and I just refuse to go out there and get it now, LOL!"I'm literally LMAO!!!! Oh yeah!! It certainly puts things in perspective. Books outside, it's freezing. Do I really, really want to read that book? Argh. Or maybe I'll just go over here to this pile and maybe possibly start another one.
Or how about you bundle up, get all your gear on, stumble through the snow to the car, only to find the snow is blocking your door, or the door is frozen shut. LOL. Been there too!!

Well, I've heard rumors of snow tonight, so I'm going out to get my books now, LOL!! I had to pack my books for my move, and its killing me not to have all them readily available.
I know exactly what you mean! With my hubs in the military we've moved a lot. Right after the kitchen, the books were a close second.
Sandra J wrote: "I'm reading

and
and while finishing a reread of [bookcover:Danger..."LOL!!! How many books are you going to be reading at once? :o)
Megan wrote: "I finished
today, which was AWESOME!! I am going to start on
next"I am so glad that you'll be starting The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie!!
Ruth wrote: "Michelle - I'm glad your move went ok - the packing/unpacking is really hard."Thanks Ruth. The only thing I'm ashamed to say that at this time, I've just unpacked the necessities; which includes books, LOL!
Megan wrote: "Sandra J wrote: "I'm reading

Wow! That's impressive Sandra! I can typically only juggle 2-3 books at the same time, and one of those is a reread as well.
Wow! I'm lucky if I can juggle 2 books. And that's usually only bc one is a "heavy" read so I need something light (doesn't require concentration) for when my family is home.
That's a good strategy Kristi! I might need to switch to that, as I usually can't concentrate when my fam is around either!
Megan wrote: "Wow! That's impressive Sandra! I can typically only juggle 2-3 books at the same time, and one of those is a reread as well."Every time I try to read more than one book at a time, it takes me forever to finish any =(
Since one book is a reread (and sometimes a second one as well) and another is often a knitting or beading book, it's not really that hard. By the time I've read a page of the book I've picked up, I remember what's been going on. This only works, by the way, until a book "grabs" me. Then I have to finish it before going on to the others. This, of course, doesn't count the audio book I've got going. That doesn't get counted in with what I'm reading since I only listen to it in the car.
Well, I've finished reading
. It was ok, but I figured out the mystery early on, and grew a little tired of hearing about the hero's eyes and chest etc. I must be on a historical romance kick so I'm moving on to
. Its a really old copy that I just found at my parents house that I can't wait to get started on.
Michelle wrote: "Every time I try to read more than one book at a time it takes me forever to finish any..."Yea, me too, I try, thinking I can do it, because when I was younger I'd read 2-3 at a time, but not now... I end up just doing one at a time.
I've got quite a few going at once, as is the norm for me. but I have even more than usual at the moment.PRINT:

Wow! That's a lot of books! How do you keep the plots seperate? And I have to ask...What is a bathroom book?
Kristi wrote: Wow! That's a lot of books! How do you keep the plots seperate? And I have to ask...What is a bathroom book? ..."Everyone always asks me that and I don't have an answer other than I just do... :-) I have zero problems keeping stories straight, especially in a variety of genres and formats like on my list.
And a bath room book is a book I keep in the bath room and only read when I'm in there. I have two bath rooms at home and one at work with a different book in each one. Every time I have to use the bath room I can read a couple pages.

Usually, I've hit a great spot, don't want to set the book down, so it comes along when I can't hold it anymore.
The problem though is that I sit there reading, as I said it's a good spot. I've had my poor legs fall asleep from sitting there so long!! Only a couple pages? How do you do that? LOL.
I finished
which was amazing! Great trilogy!!! I will be starting
tomorrow as it's on my Dec. Challenge list
Just started
because I read Whisper of Scandal, the first one in the series a little while ago, and liked it. Giving the rest of 'em a try, 'cause I bought the third one
too.
I finished
by Judith Ivory. It was ok, it just wasn't what I was expecting. I'm not sure what I'll start next. I'm still on a historical romance kick though, so I'll have to go through my books. Hopefully, I'll come across a really good one!
