Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I came home sick from work today. I know it's lazy, but I just didn't feel like going up the stairs to grab either of my current reads off my nightstand. Enemy Lover by Karin Harlow was within reach, so I've started that. So far, it's very good!

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I finished Enemy Lover by Karin Harlow . It was pretty good. It's a combination of covert ops and pnr. I gave it 4 stars.

message 460: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I need a MAJOR pnr break, so I'm starting Wild Heat (Hot Shots Men of Fire #1) by Bella Andre .

message 461: by Valorie (last edited Oct 30, 2010 12:05AM) (new)

Valorie | 676 comments I agree Michelle, sometimes it's good to throw in a few non-PNR to break it up. I try to toss in some mysteries and romantic suspense every now and then!

I just finished Dane (The Lords of Satyr, #5) by Elizabeth Amber and now I'm starting on a romantic suspense Run No More by Catherine Mulvany

Valorie | 676 comments I know, I feel guilty! If I just focus on reading I can usually put a book away a day! Now I have to focus on cleaning my house tomorrow!

Ugggh. I hate when life gets in the way of reading! ;o)

message 465: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I finished reading Wild Heat (Hot Shots Men of Fire #1) by Bella Andre which was pretty good. I think I'm going to work on Kushiel's Dart (Kushiel's Legacy, #1) by Jacqueline Carey for the rest of the day, and start on my Nov challenge books tomorrow.

message 466: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments On second thought, I'm goin gto start Tempting Evil (Riley Jenson Guardian, #3) by Keri Arthur in an effort to finish by Oct challenge books.

message 467: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments Never made it to Tempting Evil (Riley Jenson Guardian, #3) by Keri Arthur for the Oct challenge, so its back on the shelf. I'll be starting Night Falls Darkly (Shadow Guard, #1) by Kim Lenox .

message 468: by Kit★ (last edited Nov 02, 2010 10:11AM) (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments I'm reading The Love Slave by Bertrice Small my second Bertrice Small read. So far it's somewhat interesting, but I can't really connect to the girl, I feel bad for her but she's still kinda... idk... standoffish or something. I'm only about 1/4 into it, so hopefully it gets better.

message 469: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1285 comments After six grueling days I have finally finished You Belong to Me (Cardinia's Royal Family, #2) by Johanna Lindsey , which was horrible. I have now started Darker Than Midnight (Mordecai Young, #3) by Maggie Shayne

message 470: by Valorie (new)

Valorie | 676 comments I'm reading Noah (Nightwalkers, #5) by Jacquelyn Frank and really enjoying it.

message 471: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments Alright I finished The Love Slave, and I discovered that I'm not too into the whole harem thing... the story was good, and the love scenes were many and varied, but I just didn't get into the locale and the whole idea of being madly in love with your wife but owning a couple other girls you could boink when you're not doing said beloved wife... nah, I'd be nixing that idea if I were the wife lol.
So now I'm onto Moonstruck Madness by Laurie McBain , about 100 pgs or so into it, and so far it's pretty good, I'm actually surprised.

Aside from the harem girls, The Love Slave synopsis seems really interesting; even if the cover is a little on the cheesy side =)

That does seem really weird, Christian. I don't think I'd like that either!! LOL!

message 474: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I finished Night Falls Darkly (Shadow Guard, #1) by Kim Lenox , which I gave five stars! I loved the combination of pnr and hr, and really enjoyed the hero and the heroine. I'll probably buy the next 2 in this series before the end of the week. I'm not sure which novel I'll start next..... maybe a YA fantasy.

I know what you mean about laughing out loud. I swear Evanovich gets me every time. I've learned to read it when my family's not around. They think I'm crazy.

I loved getting back to Carl the best I think. I absolutely get a kick out of that monkey!

The lead female character is a little abrasive and annoying, but the rest of the story I think makes up for it. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

message 480: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I've decided to start Lament The Faerie Queen's Deception (Books of Faerie, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater .

I really don't care for abrasive and annoying lead characters; but if you say the rest of the story makes up for it, then its definitely worth reading. =)

message 482: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1285 comments I finished Darker Than Midnight (Mordecai Young, #3) by Maggie Shayne which was excellent and I'll be starting Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning next

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments Reading Night Falls Darkly has me pumped up for another historical romance. So in addition to Lament The Faerie Queen's Deception (Books of Faerie, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater , I'm working on The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley .

Kristi (kristicasey) I finally cracked the cover on The Postmistress, but it's just been a busy kind of weekend. Hoping tomorrow (day off, kids in school, hubs at work), I'll be able to finish it. It seems great so far.

Please let me know if The Postmistress turns out to be a real tearjerker. Judging by the synopsis, it seems like it might be.

message 490: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (kristicasey) Really?? Crap. I was hoping it was just a heart-warming type thing. But then again, I was probably just disillusioning myself, so I'd actually read it. Ha ha ha.
