Romance Lovers for the Challenge-Impaired discussion
Introductions....
Welcome Caroline! I still have a hard time buying a romance if it has a picture similiar to the ones they used to be on all of them. Why? Idk, bc Romance is the largest, most popular genre out there. Go figure.

LOL! I know what you mean. Just look at this one
.
Exactly! Not only bc of the C/O line, but I have kids. Kids don't want their parents showing...sexuality. It embarrasses them. They see these covers? It makes everyone uncomfortable.
Don't misunderstand. We talk very openly with our kids about sex, we're just respectful of their desire to ignore the fact that we (the parents) obviously partake of it ourselves. Ha ha!

I'm sure children around the world appreciate that, LOL!
Hi My name is Annie and I live in Upstate NY. My favorite book is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I love all of Lisa Kleypas' books. I read contemporary and historial romances. I am not much into challenges so I thought that this group would be good for me. (the impaired part)

That poor state is divided into so many sections. Southern Tier, the City (of course), Upstate & Northern. I'm sure there's more, but those are the ones I know.
I've actually lived in Upstate and Northern. You?
Kristi wrote: "Annie wrote: "Hi My name is Annie and I live in Upstate NY. My favorite book is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I love all of Lisa Kleypas' books. Yep Central too. Ha ha! Do you know, are there other states as divided as NY? I would imagine so, but then again, I'm a little embarrassed to admit us NY'ers can be a bit...eccentric and a touch...full of ourselves. :O
Well I actually live in Central NY (Utica)or it could be called the Mohawk Valley. There are 5 names (Upstate, Central, Mohawk Valley and foothills of the Adirondack Mountains or Gateway to the Adirondacks) for my region. I usually just say Upstate.
Welcome Annie! I have been meaning to read Outlander myself as I've heard what a wonderful book it is!

My husband is military, so after living elsewhere for 10 years we got stationed at Ft Drum. I kept saying Upstate. Then I kept seeing and hearing NNY. I thought "What?".
Yep, Northern NY. Of course when you live less than 15 miles from the Canadian border I guess that's pretty Northern.
But I've taken away from your introduction. Sorry! Welcome to the group! I'm also glad to have another NY'er here.

Either way, I've had it with all the snow and ice!
Ha ha! Good answer! I understand about the snow. That was a huge reason why I was glad to leave. I didn't mind it so much as a kid living there, but when I moved back as an adult? Ugh! No thank you!
It's much more fun to play in than to shovel and drive in.
Michelle & Kristi - Never mind spring. I just want it to be Summer!!!!!!!!!!I agree- I never minded the weather when I was a kid. Now want to move South or to Arizona.

Ooooh Annie, South is nice. The only problem is that if there ever is bad weather you have to be careful. The drivers...ugh. Southerners don't know how, and Northerners think it's not that bad. Overall, you get really slow mixed with way too fast all at once.
I know everyone's not into posting in "intro threads", but I've noticed we've gotten quite a few new members within the last few weeks, and just wanted to welcome all the newbies. Don't be shy, feel free to introduce yourself :)

You have to read the book to find out!lol!Heck i still don't know how it ends!
Welcome Michelle! I have read a few Karen Ranneys (the Highland Lords series) and I liked them, but haven't read one yet that I loved. Might have to give "After the kiss" a go!

Didn't like how the hero treated the heroine (IMHO). I hope you like the second half more than I did! I highly recommend Tapestry to everyone.
Thanks, new Michelle, for letting us know about Ms. Ranney. Thanks, Megan, for your 2¢ worth. LOL! Just kidding. I'm sorry; I shouldn't tease you while you're not 100%. I did marked
as a TBR. BTW, got you rec,
, in the mail today. Dying to read it, but I'm in the middle of three books now (I usually only do two, one paper/one audio).

Hi, everyone.I'm Angie and I live in Fort Worth, TX. I love to read and I love reading challenges. I've participated in the Seasonal Reading Challenge group for the past three years, but I never do very well.
I'm really looking forward to participating in some challenges with you all. :)
My favorite romance novel is The Duchess by Jude Deveraux. My favorite non-romance novel is A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole.
Welcome Angie! I have a soft spot for Jude Devereaux as she was my first intro into the world of Romance books. My favourites were
and
. Have you read those? I often think it would be interesting to go back and read them now and see if they still have the same pull. Hope you enjoy your time here at the RLftC-I group, everyone I've met here is really friendly!
Welcome, Angie! We are glad you're here! I just started a book that opens in Fort Worth, The Queen of the Prarie.
Hi, Everyone! My name is Laura Landon and I'm from the midwest, USA. (NE) I LOVE to read, especially historical romance, and I LOVE to write. My 4th Victorian historical will come out at the end of this month. I'm so glad I found this group! I love keeping up with the books all of you enjoy!
Hi Laura!! Welcome to the group! ; ) I love Historical Romances as well. I'll have to look out for your books!
Hello all! My name is Heather and live in dreary Ohio. I've read romance books since I was 13 years old and the genre has never relinquished its hold on me.
I prefer contemporary and suspenseful romance sub-genres, but I'm not exclusive.
My current favorites are Shades of Twilight by Linda Howard and The Flame and the Flower by Kathleen Woodiwiss (which was the 1st romance book I ever read at the ripe of age of 13).
I look forward to partaking in the challenges here and talking with you all.

Will this rain ever go away? lol
Thanks for the welcome!
HI, my name is Elissa. I live in Vermont, USA. I love reading. My favorite book if I have to pick just one would be Lady Pirate. I love Lynsay Sands historical romances.
Welcome, Elissa! I love a good pirate book. I haven't read Lady Pirate in years; however, I just read Across a Moonlit Sea which was excellent - heavy on the pirate fighting and strategy.
