Depressing, depressing book."

Oh my gosh, I loved that book!! But I cried at the end. :("

wow, i think i really need to read that book!

message 153: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments It's good. But have a box of tissues nearby if you get emotional about anything...

This book sounds amazing! Why haven't I ever read this?!

If you want long and awesome, I'd try Tamora Pierce. Technically, each of her series is at most four books long, but she's got two worlds, each with multiple interconnecting series. (Currently, Tortall has five and Emelan has three)

message 156: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) Alot of these are really good, i've read alot of the series. My top three would be Harry Potter, The Inhertince Cycle, and Maximum Ride. I plan to try some more of these amy sugestions on where to start?

message 157: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) I did not spell it right the fist time (sorry) the full series tittle is The Inheritance Cycle. It is written by Christphoer Paolini and there are three books with a fourth releasing in nov 2011. There is rumored to be a fifth or even sixth books also. The series is about a teenage boy who finds a dragon egg and becomes the first dragon rider in a long time. He goes on a search for (cant excatly rember it was a while ago that i read them but will read them all again before reading the fourth installment) and evetually becomes a proper dragon rider to defeat the evil king. anyways if you like Harry Potter or books with magical worlds I think you woul really like these.

The first is Saphira followed by Eldest, Brinsinger and the fouth which I dont know the tittle of. They are all really good and set in Eargons(boy) home country Alagaesia. Hope you enjoy them. Please keep me posted.

message 158: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments The fourth is called Inheritance.

message 159: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) Thanks Taylor, I will be trying to get my hands on it as soon as possible. Do you like/read the series?

message 160: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Not particularly. I read all of Eragon and some of Eldest but I sort of lost interest after Eldest. I just remembered seeing the title and cover on here somewhere.

message 161: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) Oh, okay. Thanks for the tittle.

I know trhe first as Eragon.

message 163: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) My bad the first is Eragon.........long story on that one.

message 164: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Yeah, it goes Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and Inheritance

message 165: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Maybe someday I'll actually read them. Maybe...

message 166: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments You should probably wait until after book 4 comes out.

message 167: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid I tried to read the first one once and didn't get very far.

message 168: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments I tried reading it before and I couldn't get past the prologue- then when I went back I got through it.

message 169: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Some books require a certain mindset or a certain age. But I personally think most of the book is way better than the prologue/beginning.

message 170: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) Honestly, I skipped the prologue in those books because I did not like it.

message 171: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments And most of the time the prologue isn't necessary. I'll be the first to admit that when rereading HP 4 (Goblet of Fire), I always skip the first chapter- it's basically a prologue and i remember just about everything that happens in it.

message 172: by James (new)

James (theadventurousbookreader) This is a great list Amelia. This is a awesome list and helpful too. I guess I might add more books on the to read section.

message 173: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) @Rae: same here unless the prlouge is actually super important i dont read it (i once read a proluge and it spoiled the book for me).

message 174: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Irene wrote: "@Rae: same here unless the prlouge is actually super important i dont read it (i once read a proluge and it spoiled the book for me)."

That's...........extremely odd. Do you remember what book it was?
And I only read the prologue (generally) the first 2 or so times I read a book.

message 175: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) No, not really it was scifi though. Now on the writtings here i read them because i am critiquing or they aren't boring.

message 176: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) | 2729 comments I always read the prologue. To me, it sets up the whole book. It reminds me of Syfy movies where the giant monster eats people up, and then they introduce you to the main charries and such.

message 177: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Yeah, I always read the prolouge.

message 178: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments I normally read the prologue, but if I've reread the book about a million times then I don't read the prologue.

message 179: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) | 2729 comments That never seems to be the problem with me. I have such good memory of all the books I read, that I haven't reread a book more than twice.

message 180: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments I remember the books I read for the most part, but I love rereading- you catch more details and if the book's really good then I can get lost in the story again.

message 181: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) | 2729 comments I agree! But I have to limit myself because there are so many other books I have to get read :)

message 182: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Yeah, I don't get to reread as much as I would like, but right now I'm rereading one of my all-time favorites, Ella Enchanted.

message 183: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) | 2729 comments Awesome! I've only ever seen the movie.

message 184: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments The movie sucks in comparison. It's like completely different from the book- of course, that's a somewhat good thing because since they are so different, I can enjoy both movie and book.

I watched the movie first and loved it, then I read the book and was like "Woah." THey're extremely different.

message 185: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) | 2729 comments That's great! I will have to look at our library and see if they have it. Who's it by?

message 186: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Gail Carson Levine
If your library has a Young Adult/Teen section, it'll most likely be in there, but it might be in the children's section- libraries are organized differently for YA and MG fiction.

message 187: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) | 2729 comments Okay. I am about to look online..

message 188: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) | 2729 comments They have it in the YA section. And it's available! LOL. Not sure I will be getting it Friday when my mom takes me, though; I have to renew some books that I didn't get a chance to read.

message 189: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Well you can always get it and then read it afterwards.

message 190: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments I love rereading, but I have soo many books that I need to read.

message 191: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Hahah, same here. My to-read stack (virtually of course, if only i owned all those books.....) is literally about 100 books high, at least.

message 192: by Whitney :) (new)

Whitney :) (wvn1998) | 1808 comments I kneed some new books to read. I like fantasy and books that are like pretty little liars. any ideas??

message 193: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments I have this card of books I need to re-read, and it's so much. O.o

Whitney: Harry Potter, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Why We Broke Up, Percy Jackson, Twenty Boy Summer, hm......

message 194: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Whitney- take a look at my shelves. (I'm pretty sure that my profile is public if we aren't friends) I'm a fan of pretty much everything so there's a good variety.

message 195: by Whitney :) (new)

Whitney :) (wvn1998) | 1808 comments ok. r they seperated by topic

message 196: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments somewhat. I don't have them all sorted as best as I could, but they're fairly well sorted.

message 197: by Whitney :) (new)

Whitney :) (wvn1998) | 1808 comments ok i'll take a look. thx

message 198: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Okay! You're quite welcome.
