message 4901: by Laura Lulu (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) And I love LOVE her Kate Daniels series and thought On the Edge was just OK. But I tend to prefer the UF or UFR (thanks Cherra!) and I felt On the Edge rode the rails between UFR & PNR--I guess I prefer gory and the chase rather than things wrapped up with a nice bow at the end. :)

Carolyn F. I finished Dark Slayer, did not care for it. Am reading Wicked Magic right now. My second try for Cheyenne McCray.

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 511 comments Nothing just now, as I'm about to start Midnights Daughter. I have two books that I've started but put to one side to concentrate on my challenges

message 4904: by Vickie (new)

Vickie (tangee43) | 6 comments I am reading "Acheron" by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It's part of the Dark Hunter series. I really enjoy this series, but I'm in the first third of this book and I'm really struggling because the abuse/cruelty is a bit intense. Has anyone else read this book and does it get better? lighter? more hopeful? Help!

I feel the same way--sometimes I enjoy a good PNR where everything is totally predictable but it just feels good to read about the process. I cant read an entire series of PNR back to back. I get bored.

message 4906: by Wild for Wilde (new)

Wild for Wilde (wildforwilde) I am almost finished with all the Sherlock Holmes stories, you can get them for free right now at booksonboard.com. My goal is to have all of them finished before summer (since I'm reading 10 other books right now I'm giving myself extra time haha).

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 461 comments Cherra, I like to read around. I typically don't read a series back to back because I want things to stay fresh for me (enjoyment-wise).

I read all of them about 10 years ago. They were all contained within one books that was about 5 inches inchs (not kidding). Love the stories. I've heard the movie is really good.

message 4910: by [deleted user] (new)

Right now I am reading Kindred in Death by JD Robb. I love these books, have been reading this series for years. Next on my list is Pack Challenge by Shelly Laurenston, followed by LKHs Divine Misdemeanors.

message 4911: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I finished Wicked Magic. 2nd book I've read by her and it was just okay. Starting Street Game today.

message 4912: by Valorie (last edited Jan 08, 2010 07:38PM) (new)

Valorie | 426 comments I finished Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men and absolutely loved it! Another hilarious paranormal romance from Molly Harper!! I'm now reading Ecstasy (Shadowdwellers, #1) by Jacquelyn Frank

message 4913: by Tonya (new)

Tonya | 179 comments I am taking a break from PNR and reading Deeper than the Dead by Tami Hoag . I really enjoy Tami Hoag's mystery/thriller books, I have never read any of the romance books she has written.

message 4914: by Nita (last edited Jan 08, 2010 08:40PM) (new)

Nita (gillnit) I am starting Divine Misdemeanors (Meredith Gentry, #8) by Laurell K. Hamilton now. I'm was a bit hesitant to start it because I haven't heard the greatest things about this one. I did enjoy the others in this series.

It changes things up a little. It seems the characters have decided to go in a slightly different direction than Laurell intended (as she's stated in her blogs) and , with the Goddess' urging, look to be headed towards establishing another Court with a Queen Merry and her many men :-) At least, that's how I read into the events.

I ♥ Bookie Nookie (bookienookiereviews.blogspot.com) (ibookienookie) I am close to finishing Passion Unleashed (Demonica, #3) by Larissa Ione --it takes so long for them to come in from the library that I forget how good they are and this one is no exception.

I have a few I need to read and I am trying to decide between: Stray (Shifters, #1) by Rachel Vincent Mine Till Midnight (The Hathaways, #1) by Lisa Kleypas A Rush of Wings (The Maker's Song, #1) by Adrian Phoenix Trick of the Light (Trickster, #1) by Rob Thurman any suggestiosn???

message 4917: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) Jordan - I finished Divine Misdemeanors, and I agree with your assessment. I think I like where the plot is leading us. The demi-fey plot was interesting. But I thought there were a couple too many sex scenes. You know what, scratch that. I don't think I would have minded the number of sex scenes if they had been with her core men. Why add sex with more men, especially after the development at the end of the last book?

message 4919: by Heather (new)

Heather (sparkleyturtle) | 151 comments Just finished Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh . It was alright, but I think she went into the characters enough the rest of the plot was a little short. The end seemed a bit rushed. Totally pictured Lucas as Cash from Men in Trees.

Then I was going to start up the Night Huntress series, when I realized the book I had was the third in the series, so I had to run out to Borders to get Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost , so now I can start it where it is supposed to be.

message 4920: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Glass (kaylaglass) im reading Beautiful Creatures...kinda insulting to southreners, i must say. it is painfully overdramatic/corny and the authors slather pretty much everything the characters say with a very over the top, almost theatrical southern accent...other than that, and the fact that it drags in places, its a good book.

message 4921: by Valorie (new)

Valorie | 426 comments I just finished Ecstasy by Jacquelyn Frank. It started out a little slow but picked up in the middle. All in all it turned out to be a pretty good read. I'm now reading Master of Dragons (Mageverse, #8) by Angela Knight

Debbie The Book Vixen (goodreadscomdebbiethebookvixen) I am reading Betrayed right now, The House of Night Series. Pretty good and pretty juicy. Also kind of sad I almost felt like crying in a few parts. I think I will be done by morning :-)

I really like the earlier books in that series, but find that around the fourth they start to go down hill. Although I do think that the latest one was a bit of an improvement, but this is totally just my oppinion, some people like all of the books.

message 4924: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I just started [image error] . I really liked the first in this series, Lucan.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 461 comments Hi Cherra. This is the first Hathaway book. However, Cam is introduced in the Wallflowers series, but I think you're fine starting with Mine Till Midnight. Go for it!

Mine Till Midnight
Seduce Me at Sunrise
Tempt Me at Twilight
A Hathaway Wedding ebook
Love in the Afternoon not released yet
Married By Morning not released yet

message 4940: by Tonya (new)

Tonya | 179 comments I just finsihed Desire Unchained (Demonica, #2) by Larissa Ione and [image error] , both were pretty good. I am not sure what to read next, I have been trying to finish a few of the series I have started. I have found I don't like reading a series straight through however, need some variety. I am thinking about reading Full Moon Rising (Riley Jenson Guardian, #1) by Keri Arthur next.
