I can't wait to get Bound by Flames from the library. Seems like I have been on hold forever.

Dino-Jess ✮ The Book Eating Dinosaur ✮ (deliah_wilson) I'm currently reading The Virgin Romance Novelist by Meghan Quinn and having a good chuckle so far. Next on the list is either Better when He's Bold (Welcome to the Point, #2) by Jay Crownover or Mutineer (Alexis Carew #2) by J.A. Sutherland , have both in my e-reader ready to go....

Christine | 1127 comments I finished The Darkest Whisper (Lords of the Underworld, #4) by Gena Showalter and going right into The Darkest Passion (Lords of the Underworld, #5) by Gena Showalter . I like these books, but they're just not quite up there with Kresley Cole or Nalini Singh for me. But still quite enjoyable.

In print, I am loving Dead Heat (Alpha & Omega, #4) by Patricia Briggs . It's making me wish I felt I had time for a Mercy/Alpha&Omega re-read. One of these days....

After reading Dead Heat (Alpha & Omega, #4) by Patricia Briggs I had to re-read the Alpha & Omega series. I so love these books. I'd love to re-read Mercy too, but probably won't do it before the next one comes out in 2016.

Currently I'm taking a break from uf/pnr and reading The Design by R.S. Grey . I'm only at the beginning, but so far I like it.

Just one-clicked it so I can read it this weekend! So much for my book break!:D

Funny you mention that book because it has been reminding me of Kushiel's Dart. Lots of characters, new places and names to learn. You almost feel like you missed a book because she just lets you jump right in.

message 34919: by Christine (new)

Christine | 1127 comments I finished Dead Heat (Alpha & Omega, #4) by Patricia Briggs which I adored. There is just something about her writing and characters that I find so comfortable.

Up next, I'm going to try to finally finish the Lux series with Opposition (Lux, #5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout . I'm not sure I'm in a YA mood right now, so we'll see how it goes.

In audio, I'm over halfway through The Darkest Passion (Lords of the Underworld, #5) by Gena Showalter which has been pretty good.

I finished this a couple of days ago and it's the first time I didn't like a book in this series. I thought the plot was ridiculous.

I'm planning on reading Cold Hard Secret Cold Hard Secret (Secret McQueen, #7) by Sierra Dean so I can finish this series.

Novela does that to me. Rushed and not enough to have them made and built senses.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I've read very little Urban Fantasy so far this year - yikes. Right now about to start Hannibal to finish off my Hannibal Lecter series read of the year, and also on the last of the YA Mortal Instruments series.

This is why I almost never read novellas. They are rarely as good as the full length books.

message 34934: by Christine (new)

Christine | 1127 comments Hoping to finish up Opposition (Lux, #5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout soon so I can complete another series and start Embers (Anya Kalinczyk, #1) by Laura Bickle . I've had enough YA for a while and need to get back to UF with older characters.

message 34935: by Amac (new)

I most often skip novellas. They cant get enough into a good story and nothing important can happen because people skip them and the author wouldnt want people to miss something necessary.

Denise Nanna | 1321 comments Just started Heir to the Shadows (The Black Jewels, #2) by Anne Bishop . Took a bit to get into the first one but now I love the series. If you like Kushiel's Dart, you will feel comfy in this series.

It was interesting and fun. A solid YA urban fantasy with mages who are disliked by commoners and thieves that are revered by populous. Some guild politics but not much. Very believable antihero and main characters. I enjoyed reading this book very much. Unlike many other books I've read recently there were none eye-rolling moments here. Character's descriptions were consistent throughout the book. At the same time no major "no way" moments. It ends with a cliffhanger.

I read The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells about two years ago, and I was just plain bored. It really wasn't for me. At all.

message 34944: by Christine (new)

Christine | 1127 comments I finished Opposition (Lux, #5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout and meh. Parts of it were actually really good and emotional, but they were offset by parts that were just silly or annoying, so it balanced out to a just okay.

Up next is Embers (Anya Kalinczyk, #1) by Laura Bickle
