I have to be in the mood for romance as well Christine.

I can't wait to get Bound by Flames from the library. Seems like I have been on hold forever.

Funny you mention that book because it has been reminding me of Kushiel's Dart. Lots of characters, new places and names to learn. You almost feel like you missed a book because she just lets you jump right in.

Up next, I'm going to try to finally finish the Lux series with

In audio, I'm over halfway through

I'm currently reading Chaos in Death

I finished this a couple of days ago and it's the first time I didn't like a book in this series. I thought the plot was ridiculous.

Novela does that to me. Rushed and not enough to have them made and built senses.

It's a brilliant series if you are looking for something new to read.

This is why I almost never read novellas. They are rarely as good as the full length books.

I most often skip novellas. They cant get enough into a good story and nothing important can happen because people skip them and the author wouldnt want people to miss something necessary.

That's a good point. I hadn't minded the other novellas in the past, but this one was just not good.

How did you find [..."
It was interesting and fun. A solid YA urban fantasy with mages who are disliked by commoners and thieves that are revered by populous. Some guild politics but not much. Very believable antihero and main characters. I enjoyed reading this book very much. Unlike many other books I've read recently there were none eye-rolling moments here. Character's descriptions were consistent throughout the book. At the same time no major "no way" moments. It ends with a cliffhanger.

I'm also buddy reading
