Rebecca | 225 comments I just finished The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld, #1) by Gena Showalter and I don't know if Im going to read the next one. I thought this one was pretty bad. I didn't like how it all took place in a few days and the main characters fell in love at first sight. I thought the author had a great idea, but she needed to take more time to develop it. Do they get better or should I just move on to something else???

I'm about a third of the way through Succubus Heat (#4). But after this one, I've got a stack of other books I need to finish before I get to the final two in the series. But I will finish this series before the end of he year!

message 17269: by Sheree (new)

Sheree I've dedicated myself to the Night Huntress. I have the first of BDB & the first Riley Jenson is on its way, once I read all of night huntress I'm going to see how I like those books as everyone has suggested them oh & I think I have the first Highlander coming too

message 17270: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (imahoodieninja) | 170 comments Sheree you will LOVE Night Huntress! BDB is good as well! They start to go downhill on the fourth book I think but then it's nothing but up from there!

And yes I've read the first two of the Dark Swan series...Love me some Dorian!

I don't know of any with the same storyline, but you will probably like URban Fantasy books better than PNR if you want less sex scenes. There are two really good series Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning is the first book in the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. And Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill is the first in the Chicagoland Vampires series. Both series are excellent and have very little sex in them.

The Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian is fairly similar. It does have sex scenes, but I can't recall how they compare to BDB. Or maybe Sentinal WArs by Shannon K. Butcher. They aren't vampires, but it's a similar ideas of a bunch of warriors living together in one complex. I don't think that series has quite as much sex as the others(?). Are you looking for no sex, or just less or less explicit sex?

Try Rachel Caine's Revivalist series, so far there's only one book Working Stiff, I loved it & couldn't put it down & it's not about what you're prob thinking, I know what I was expecting & omg every time I thought I had it figured out it went in another direction entirely, I loved that, it keeps you guessing. Even Morganville Vampires (by the same Author) has very little sex scene's, probably only one in 11 books :) If you read working stiff let me know what you think

Midnight Breed has a lot of sex scenes in it. It;s a great series but I think it's about the same as BDB in terms of sex.
