Julie *-* (ladymamaj) | 98 comments I have read the first in the love at stake, put the series aside for something else for some reason... now I am thinking that maybe I should pick them back up........ once I am done with K.M.M's highlander series! :) Just starting book 4 in that series now. SO GOOD!!! :)

Magda | 558 comments Does the series get better as it progresses? I tried reading Book#1 & couldn't make it through the first chapter. Found it incredibly cheesy.

In my opinion it got better as it went along. As with all series there are one or two books that are misses, but I really like the series.

There is a bit of cheesiness to the first book(is that a word)but it does get better. There are so many great things about that series. The romances are steamy, but there is so much humor and witty banter between the characters. I love the feeling of family that all of the vampires have. They definitely get better each book

Magda | 558 comments Will have to give this another shot. Moving it back to my TBR.

I find them all to be cheesy, but that's why I like them. I can only read so many serious books before I need ones that make me laugh.

I agree Tracy... every now and then you need one that's just different then the rest. I have the breed series on the side for moments like that. They aren't really the cheesy type, they are more the hot and steamy type... I don't think I could read the whole series without something to change it up.

Maybe that's what I find so appealing. I know when I read anything Kerrelyn Sparks writes I am going to laugh. Nobody writes inuendo and double entendres like her.

Tracy T. | 252 comments I love Heather's live in babysitter, Fidelia. This one is starting to rank up there with Angus' book.

I can't wait for book 12 next year. Its Dr. Phang's book. He cracks me up.

My favorite thing is Jean Luc's 10 steps to a kiss. Whew!!!

message 16221: by LilMisGrayBrisk (new)

LilMisGrayBrisk | 502 comments I finally finished Crossroads (Anna Strong Chronicles, #7) by Jeanne C. Stein (really busy this week) and it was very good. This is a series that needs more recognition than it gets, IMO. Heartless (The Parasol Protectorate, #4) by Gail Carriger is next.

message 16222: by Magda (new)

Magda | 558 comments I thought it was cheesy in a bad way, not a good one. lol
Will give them another shot, maybe I wasn't in the mood to read her style of writing.

message 16223: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellebelle01) | 47 comments I just finished Rosemary and Rue. I really liked it, but found the main characters version of cursing somewhat distracting. Still super excited for the next book in the series though!

Now I'm reading Portal to finish my October challenge!

Just finished Vampire Mine (Love at Stake, #10) by Kerrelyn Sparks . Not my favorite but I am also a fan. I will read Gregori's book next. Love Angus but Ian is my favorite Highlander and how sexy is Phil?

message 16227: by Pansy (new)

Pansy | 740 comments I loved Ceremony in Death (In Death, #5) by J.D. Robb . The audio version is fantastic. I adore Roarke and Eve. They are simply my favorite couple. The Look of Love (The Sullivans, #1) by Bella Andre seems pretty good. Starting that tonight.

You won't be disappointed in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. The only problem I had was which one of the books on my favorite shelf I was going to take off to replace with that series.

Let me know if you like Heartless (The Parasol Protectorate, #4) by Gail Carriger ; I loved the first in this series so much and then Conell had to royally piss me off in the second book and don't feel he suffered enough to make up for his, IMO, unforgivable actions towards Alexia...She's pretty awesome though, but I haven't been able to read further since then

message 16235: by Sheree (new)

Sheree I felt guilty about it but I stopped reading Halfway to the Grave with Bonus Material A Night Huntress Novel by Jeaniene Frost so I could finally read the Succubus Revealed (Georgina Kincaid #6) by Richelle Mead . I am loving it & should finish up tonight & then I can get back to Kat & Bones

message 16236: by Windypicnic (new)

Windypicnic (garbagebooks) Currently reading Concrete Savior (Dark Redemption, #2) by Yvonne Navarro which is decent so far, but not as compelling as the first.

I feel the exact same way about the series, Julie. Conell's actions still kind of linger over the books for me and taint the enjoyment I get out of Alexia and her adventures. He was just so awful to her!

valerie QUICHAUD (crazycatvalou) i'm reading Untamed (House of Night, #4) by P.C. Cast love it

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 538 comments ooohhhh... good one

Terri ♥ (aka Mrs. Christian Grey) (mybookboyfriend) | 241 comments Do you ever compare Anita's guys to Merry's?

I mean like I see

Galen as Nathaniel
Frost as Richard
Nicah as Micah but that's a bust now. At least at the part I'm in the book.

I might spell some of the names wrong because I'm listening on audio and don't have the book. But there are similarities with the guys.

I heard it was real good. Has anyone here read this book?
What did you think? :)

message 16243: by Jaime (new)

Jaime Rush (jaime_rush) | 122 comments I tried reading The Angel Experimentbut the 1-2 page chapters drove me nuts. Am now reading Discord's Apple by Carrie Vaughn . A *lot* going on in that book. Too many storylines/flashbacks. But am too far in to bail out now. :P

I find the present tense in YA PNR to be strange. I remember writing a short story that way eons ago, but to write an entire book???

I'm about to start reading Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu. A classic vampire story, so getting my need for vampires and classics filled at the same time.
