I think this was my favorite read of the year. I almost started it over when I was about 100 pages in because it was going by too fast and I wanted to savor every word.

Gracie | 49 comments Christine, How many books have you read so far this year?

message 16053: by Christine (new)

Christine | 1127 comments I'm still reading Monster Hunter International. I want to like this book, and parts of it I really do like. But other parts are just too long for me. I now understand why someone referred to it as "gun-porn".

I did take a short break from it to read Crescendo. I didn't like it as much as the first, but it certainly ended on a note that will have me reading the next.

Monster Hunter International (MHI, #1) by Larry Correia Crescendo (Hush, Hush, #2) by Becca Fitzpatrick

I think I'm around 90. Some of them start to blend together, but others, like Cal and Company, really stand out.

I've learned to squeeze reading in wherever I can between work and three kids. I think the cleanliness of our house has suffered, but we all have to make sacrifices. ; )
I've always liked mysteries and fantasy, but for the past two or three years, I've been stuck on urban fantasy and paranormal romance. But I can handle only so much happy ending romance, before I need to get back to the grittier urban fantasy.

I hope one of the steps in the Readaholics program is to stop buying and/or borrowing new books from the library when you already own more books than you could read in a year.

Im only fifteen, I don't think i'm as busy as you are haha :). But mine are probably books about strange creatures, love stories, and books set back in the old days. I really enjoy reading about mascarades, and how two totally different people can fall inlove. Romeo and Juliet isn't really the best read. But i supose if you like that sorta thing. Hhmm my main favorite books are probably about strange out there things. You know what iI mean?

Okay, I'll admit it *haning my head in shame* I did not finish the 5000 words (close though). And I don't think the reading counted since I took it out of my sleeping time. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. LOL

Buying books alone is like an addiction. I can live without shoes and other girlie things but I could never loose my books. I have hundreds in my computer I haven't even read yet.

I think it started earlier for me. I can remember coming home after school in grade 8 and reading an entire Sweet Valley High book every day. I used to read between classes at school, as soon as I got home, after dinner, before bed(I think you get the idea). It sounds like you may be as doomed as the rest of us on Goodreads.

This book was amazing! The journey that Matthew and Diana take as they try to uncover the mysteries of the elusive Ashmore 782 is fantastic.
This book is a brilliant blend of mystery, history, magic, suspense and is filled with spine chilling encounters and great action. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, Jenne. :)

Christine | 1127 comments Gracie wrote: "Is it bad to be addicted to reading books when your only 15??"

I can remember as a kid reading The Black Stallion and then going out an getting every Walter Farley book I could find to read. And Nancy Drew! I guess even then I had a thing about finishing series. I use to go back and forth between Agatha Christie mysteries, Patricia Veryan historical romances, and Raymond E. Feist fantasies. Loved, loved the Riftwar Saga so much I read it twice. This makes me want to track some of those old books down and see how they are *cough* twenty-something *cough* years later.

Which topic. We were discussing a favorite series that used to be popular when I was a teenager. It's a great series if you haven't read it Gracie you should check it out. It's perfect for your age. It's called Sweet Valley High. Secrets (Sweet Valley High, #2) by Francine Pascal Double Love (Sweet Valley High, #1) by Francine Pascal Deceptions (Sweet Valley High #14) by Francine Pascal Runaway (Sweet Valley High, #21) by Francine Pascal Kidnapped! (Sweet Valley High #13) by Francine Pascal
There are tons of them. Just looking at the covers makes me want to read it again and see if I'd still like them as much.
