Heidi, Nothing but Trouble was hilarious, I just loved the way Chelsea and Mark interacted...and how grouchy he was throughout the book!

I'm re-reading Elizabeth Hoyt's
, the last installment in the Four Soldier series...forgot how much I liked this book.
Goodness i have never tried Elizabeth Hoyt orChristina Dodd and i love Historicals.. aint that crazy???? any good ones i should give this ladies a try??
I hope you enjoy them, Autumn! I have the Legend of the Four Soldiers here, but haven't read them yet.
Hey seton! How is the new series by Madeline Hunter, the one with the flowers? My library has the first two books in audiobooks so I want to give them a try.
I don't know if I've read any Jo Goodman...maybe I should give a her a try.
Hey DG!I thought the Rarest Blooms series was comparable in quality to the Rothwell series. Both Bk 3s feature a less than rich hero.
Good luck on Goodman.

I just ahve to add my two cents here Elizabeth hoyt is right up there with LK in my opinion! ONE OF THE BEST for sure!
I definitely agree with you Heidi about Elizabeth Hoyt. I have 'Wicked Intentions' and 'Notorious Pleasures' in my TBR pile and am looking forward to reading them
I've loved EH's books that I've read so far. She's consistent in quality, and I appreciate that. No guessing, so far.
Got on a Lynn Veihl kick this month. Finished the Darkyn series. Aftet this one, I'm on to the Marjorie M. Liu series.
Ditto Heidi re: EH, I think her and LK are both excellent writers but still know how to keep it super steamy!
Amar wrote: "Ditto Heidi re: EH, I think her and LK are both excellent writers but still know how to keep it super steamy!"Have you gals checked out EH's web site. She has preveiw of her next book due out in November...
...its looks awesome! Can't wait for Silence and Mickey's story! Check it out.http://www.elizabethhoyt.com/books/sc...
Carol wrote: "I definitely agree with you Heidi about Elizabeth Hoyt. I loved her Princes, liked her Four Soldiers, and love her Maiden Lane books (so far!!)
And Christina Dodd also has a couple great books (It's been a while, but I think I really enjoyed her Governess Brides and her Switching Places books).. Oh, and of course there's Celeste Bradley and Liz Carlyle who are also great:-D Oh, and Kresley Cole... I'm waiting to start If you desire after reading and LOVING If you dare!! Currently reading a RS book by Karen Rose though..
Melanie, I had a couple Christina Dodd books and for the life of me could not read the, started and could never get into them enough to finsih, they just didn;t grab be from the get go!
Hoyt: love, LOVED her Prince series. Four Soldiers didnt compare. Refuse to read her current series cause the stews dont interest me.Dodd: read a few bks. Stopped reading her altogether when she put out 7 bks in one yr and all she seemed to care about was cranking them out.
Celeste Bradley: I dont like spy regencies but when she started writing regular regencies, they lost that something.
Carlyle: talented but frustrating writer for me. Her earliest bks are her best.

I'm the opposite. The Four Soldiers were better for me than the Princes. I really didn't like that last prince book, but I also wasn't overly fond of the last soldier book either.
Totally agree on the cranking them out comment. That really bothers me about some authors. I know that there are some authors I just want more and more and more from but really quality over quantity counts for much!
ohh my God!!! and i have missed her books!!!!! thats a crime as far as romance reading goes!! jeezz!!! i definitely have to read her books asap!!
seton wrote: "Celeste Bradley: I dont like spy regencies but when she started writing regular regencies, they lost that something.."I received
from RomCon Reader's Crown but I'd never read anything by her before. Book 3, SIMD is closely tied to the first 2 in the series so I got them first. I really enjoyed all 3 books, even though book 1 was only 3 stars.I'm glad to have found a new HR author.
I've only read
, but WOW! It was great. I wish I could give it more than five stars. I have her next books lined up. I guess Elizabeth Hoyt is going to have to hold me over until Lisa Kleypas's year off is over with.

I just finished it, Julie, and it was wonderful!! I adore Houston and even Dallas for understanding.

Hoyt- yep, agree The Leopard Prince was wonderful- no idea what happened in the 4 soldiers and not inclined to try Maiden Lane
Dodd- never tried- been meaning to- maybe not though!
Bradley- never tried- will investigate
Carlyle- yes- highly recommended in some ways but totally lacking direction in others. Avoid her latest book- it's a rehash of previous books/characters with some sort of added paranormal bit that really doesn't work.
@Mshj - what was Carlyle's latest book?I agree that Dodd was putting out a few too many... I did like the first 5 or so in the Governess Brides (between 3 and 4.5*), and her CR books were good IMO, although I didn't hook on the PNR (too many directions in too short a time):-D
BTW, I also really enjoyed a couple of Samantha James' books... I don't know if you've read any?
and her Perfect trilogy? I actually have her backlist but still need to dig it out of my gargantuan TBR pile:-D
UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "I just saw that, Mandy! I loved Darkyn!"did you read the kyndred ones? I finished the first one last night. I saw some pretty bad reviews of it, even one that mentioned some Dom/sub lifestyle. I think that reviewer was confused! Lol! There was only one such scene and nothing that indicated a desire for that lifestyle.
glad I didn't skip bc of that review.

One Touch of Scandal
Never heard of Samantha James- will investigate.
I am reading Swept Away- it was a Kindle freebie, and it is surprisingly really good! Has anyone read anything else by her?
Jennifer wrote: "I am reading Swept Away- it was a Kindle freebie, and it is surprisingly really good! Has anyone read anything else by her?"she is fab. nobody does swashbuckling HRs like her.
Mshj wrote: "Never heard of Samantha James- will investigate. "SJ is as big a hack as Dodd. Maybe worse.

It definitely buckeled my swashes. I like it when the girl gets to be a pirate instead of a victim!

ooh, thanks for the rec! Pirates and tough girls, love it!!
Mshj wrote: "It definitely buckeled my swashes. I like it when the girl gets to be a pirate instead of a victim! "she was the Alpha and the hero was The Girl
seton wrote: "Mshj wrote: "Never heard of Samantha James- will investigate. "SJ is as big a hack as Dodd. Maybe worse."
really? I've only read three or four of her books, like I said, but I found them enjoyable... Not LK material, but 3.5-4.5* IMO..

Glad to hear it, Dhestiny. Houston was a sweetheart. I just loved him. Even though Dallas was my least favorite of the brothers, I still really enjoyed his book. The whole series is a keeper for me.:-)
