Finished
last night and holy smokes, it was HAWT!! LOL!! The Maya Banks part was good, the Bradley part I could have done without.Definate "to read" though if you like that kind of stuff. And I do. (Again, the perv! LOL!)
I managed to finish
last night before attending my book club to discuss it. It's nothing like how pop culture portrays it and I found it tedious until the halfway point. I started
last night when I got home and I'm loving it so far.
Laura I'm glad you are liking it.I am starting
. Reading it for a Goodreads group and looking forward to it.
Quick read at lunch today(still not one on my October challenge lists! Sigh . . .)
3 starsConcept was good but was just ehhh . . .really impossible scene in a hot tub. Thankfully, it was at the end.

Oh I loved Northanger Abbey. It's tied with Emma and Persuasion for my second favorite Austen book! It's soo funny.
I must be in the minority as apart from Mansfield Park, Northanger Abbey is my least favourite, I much prefer Persuasion and Pride and Predjudice. I didn't find it as romantic as the others and the girl in it annoyed me a little

I found it humorous in the fact that it was making fun of the gothic genre of which I'm not a fan to begin with.

P&P, S&S, E and P all have wonderful qualities and Emma and Persuasion have both really grown on me over the years.
My favorites are definitely P & P, S & S, Emma, then Mansfield Park. MP is definitely on the slower side.
All I remember really about MP is that they made a massive fuss over them staging a play and that Fanny married her cousin!
LOL, that is basically most of the plot other than everyone was mean to Fannie except for her cousin
Oh I HATED Mansfield Park - I think I even wrote a somewhat scathing review.NA is supposed to be a tongue in cheek parody of the gothic genre, which was very popular at the time. :) That's why Catherine is silly/naive/overly dramatic/imaginative bordering on slightly demented. :) And I loved the hero! He was so funny, nice and sweet.
I've read NA before but really remember very little about it. Mansfield Park is my least favorite because I can not stand Fannie.

Exactly! Knowing that prior to reading NA helped me to appreciate it more.
And yes, Fanny Price is a rather boring heroine.
I finished
last night...it was a lot of fun!I'm starting
today. I'm a big fan of Tracy Chevalier so this shouldn't be a difficult read.
Just finished
and WOW!! I'm sooo going out and buying every Meljean Brook Steampunk I can get my hands on!! I only read the Singh and Brook stories. Couldn't get in to the other two. I'm also going to have to go back and read all of the other Singh Psy/Changeling books. YAY!

So far I really like it. I loved the Luxe series. :-)

I'm glad to hear that its good so far! I loved the Luxe series as well. I don't read much ya but this one looked interesting.
You know Dhestiny, I've read books 2 and 3 but still haven't read book #1. I always do things the hard way.
Carolyn, this is actually a re-read of #1 because I read it a few years ago, and there was so much else going on in my life that I can't remember much about it, and I want to continue on with the series.
Suzanne wrote: "I have started reading
, I love the cover for these books!"I must try Nalini Singh. Where is best to start?
I think it depends what you like, I personally prefer her Psy-Changeling series, which is PNR rather then UF. It starts with
and is shifter series. But if you like UF, and love very dangerous, ruthless heroes then you would probably prefer the Guild Hunter series which starts with
. But they are both good though and she has some great ideas in her books.
Katherine wrote: "Starting
and this will end the Hathaway series for me."Why is that Katherine? Did you read the others out of order?
I liked Pride Mates Dhestiny. It was better than I thought. Kind of a different take from the normal werewolf story.

At first I was worried it would be too much like Lora Leigh's Breeds. But we're already on page 29 and the hero hasn't sexed up the heroine yet, so I don't think they'll be too similar after all.
