Pamela - Here's what you might have missed. Mandy got a book called Open Invitation? by Karen Kendall and the Hero is Texan. Most authors describe how a person says a word if their accent or drawl would make it sound like something other then how it looks. Kendall actually wrote out the drawl or attempted to. The guy would say Hi when he entered a room but in an attempt to write it the way he said it she wrote Haaaaa. As I understand it, it took Mandy a few pages to realize he was not laughing but saying hi. I realize that Hi and Y'all are not necessarily always followed by each other but thought if that had been the case it would have helped.
Mandy said in a post before that people in Texas don't say Hi but Hey. I think that's what Pamela is talking about. :)

There are 16 free downloads, I think.
I accidentally had a crippled leg marathon read the last couple of days. Castles by Julie Garwood (loved it. this is going to be a favorite), A Guide to Improper Behavior by Suzanne Enoch (loved it and also a favorite already), Masquerading the Marquess by Anne Mallory (only okay) and A Notorious Love by Sabrina Jefferies (very good). If my next book has a hero or heroine with a crippled leg I'm going to wonder about this unintentional marathon of mine!

This weekend I read:Highlander Obsession by Dawn Halliday - This is a well-written book but it did not leave me with a good feeling. I'm sure if I'll read Highland Surrender.
Laird of the Mist by Paula Quinn - I really enjoyed this one and am continuing with A Highlander Never Surrenders, then Seduced by & Ravished by a Highlander
Highland Destiny by Hannah Howell - I have a lot of the Murray family books to read in between other books
I'm obsessed with Highlanders at the moment!
I love Highlanders, too. I hated Highland Obsession. There was way too much intentional emotional hurt and I agree, I did not feel good when it was over. Is Highland Surrender a sequel?

Bekah - I imagine this storyline has probably been done a thousand times but, as I do not read many contemporary novels, I am really enjoying this book.
Ok, so I was doing a reading marathon this weekend that's why I went a little crazy. I finished

Yes, Cam selects a proper lady to be his wife, but then he falls in love with someone else. His selected bride falls for someone else too. I don't have much empathy for Cam after he abducted Sorcha. I hated Alan when he had his "test" for his wife and friend.
I have been redecorating my mum and dad's bedroom as a uprise (yes, I really AM an amazing daughter : )) so I haven't had much time to read, but now I have finally don it (yay!) I can get stuck into
, I have read some of it and I am really liking it so far!
I am hoping to live in my parents good graces now for a couple of weeks, until the gratitude wears off lol

It sounds like the next book will be more of the same.
I'm glad you loved it, Suzanne! It was an emotional ride, wasn't it? And you'll enjoy Sinful so much more now.
It was definately emotional I was tearing up when he found out all her secrets and was really angry and then after that I just wept my way through the rest! How do you say Anais's name? I was thinking A-Nace, but that doesn't sound right.

I was curious about these Regency romances.

I did too. One of the better ones.
I just started Devil in Winter. I adore Evie and can't wait to see how LK manages to redeem Sebastian. So far he's not off to a good start with his insults.;-)

I'm reading
and am LOVING it!! How have I not found Patricia Rice before now?? I picked this one up in one of my 8/$1 deals.
I've been reading
Lots of fun. As one reviewer points out - how can you go wrong with a book where one of the opening scenes is skinny dipping with penguins! Thanks to those who have recommended Mary Jo Putney here- I will recover from the strip-billiards playing scene sometime soon.
Mshj wrote: "I enjoyed the read but never really warmed to him. He always seemed to me to be a very cold character. "The same with me, Mshj. I liked the book but I wasn't as crazy about St. Vincent as most people.

I love St. Vincent.
For lunch today, I read
. First book for this author and I enjoyed it. Nice menage without going way over the top. If "menage" and "without going" make sense in a sentence together. It's $.99 at Kobo.com today.

I love how he treated Evie on the trip to Scotland as well as during the wedding and after, but then it seemed like the honeymoon was instantly over. In spite of Sebastian's moments of niceness, I can't forget what he did to Lillian, and am eagerly waiting for a comeuppance, a tortured past to emerge, something??? I guess I just need to stop being so darned impatient, especially since it took the better part of the first two books before I fully warmed to Annabelle and Lillian, so maybe he'll wow me later on.:-)

D.G. wrote: "I'm in the middle of

Oh I loooved Leo. He was the wittiest hero ever!I just finished the book and I'm sad this the last one. LK did an amazing job with this family!
Now moving onto La Sombra Del Viento. I've been reading non stop romance for a while so a different sort of book (and in Spanish!) would be a welcome change of pace.
