Patrid, pretty soon you'll be addicted to GR. I was in withdrawal because I didn't go on for two days straight. :)

Is The Hunger Games really sad? I've heard great things about it, but I'm worried it might be too sad for me.

Mariel, Sir Phillip is one of my favorite Bridgerton novels.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins? I don't think it was too sad. It was a very good book and something different. I think you would like it Danielle.

message 55: by Anne (new)

Anne I'm going to be starting The Charmer in the next few days. I've been looking forward to reading it for a while!
P.S Danielle, Tempt Me at Twilight is waiting for me at the library! *squeal*

Thanks, Mariel. I'll catch The Hunger Game in paperback. Connie Brockway is one of my all time favorite romance authors. I hope you enjoy her book.

Anne, The Charmer is very good. You might beat me to reading TMAT. But I will catch up with you next month. :)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments My son said Hunger Games was sad, but not too sad, and my daughter wouldn't read it because it SOUNDED bad.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I'm reading Night Falls Darkly by Kim Lenox. It's for a group challenge. I'm shocked that I hadn't heard more about the book or at least the Hero, Archer. I'm 89 pages in and it's really, very good.

message 59: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Brockway is an incredible writer. I think she's underrated because her writing is more of an intense and less light-hearted bent. She's in my top faves. I have a few of her saved up, thankfully.

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments I'm reading A Lady at Last by Brenda Joyce. Its a reread for me, but its been so long ago that it's mostly like new. So far so good!! The hero is torturing himself trying to resist the heroine, but we all know how that will end: Yummy. :-)

Oh, those "self restraint" stories are the best because they are practically raving lunatics by the time they actually 'do the deed'

message 64: by Anne (new)

Anne I'm loving Tempt Me at Twilight! Wow, I'm thinking Harry is definitely going in my top 10! LOL Leo is hot in this one, too!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Ooh, that means I'll probably love TMAT, Anne. :)

I love the heroes who try to resist the heroine, but end up going crazy for her! Sigh.

Dhestiny, here are my fave Connie books (she's such a nice person--I've emailed her and she emailed me back)

My Dearest Enemy
All Through the Night my first and favorite. So dark and intense!!!
Once Upon a Pillow with another fave author of mine, Christina Dodd (also really nice)
The Bridal Season
McClairen's Isle: The Ravishing One
Bridal Favors
A Dangerous Man a British earl who was briefly a gunslinger. Is that cool or what??

message 66: by Anne (new)

Anne You're going to LOVE Tempt Me, Danielle! I just finished it and I'm dying for the next book in the series to come out! It's going to be Leo's story (finally!), and the ending of Tempt Me had a cliffhanger ending with him! (Or as close to a cliffhanger as a romance is going to have) lol

You know, Good Reads has been such a blessing in my life and I mean that, sincerely. Not only have I made new friends who I adore, but I am being enriched through the many new books I have read, books I never would have considered had I been left to my own devices.

Awww. I know exactly what you mean. That is how I feel too, you just put it more eloquently Uniquely Moi. I love talking to people about books, especially people here that I talk to all the time. And I as well, find great books that I may not have necessarily picked up on my own. But others read them and/or recommend them to me so I try them and glad that I do!

message 75: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Most recently I read Night Falls Darkly and loved it. I would never have chosen that one for myself and I'm surprised I never heard it mentioned, or Archer, the hero, lusted after on any thread here.

So true. I don't know what I would do without Goodreads. I so nice to be able to be silly and talk about the books that you love! None of my friends where I live now like to read, so saying Goodreads is a blessing is an understatement to me!

Has anyone read anything by Lucy Monroe?(not sure this is where this question goes) I have only read on of her books, a contop and loved it...I am looking to get a few of her historicals...but wondered if anyone had read her. Also has anyone read Catherina Anderson? I read only oen of hers as well, and really liked it(not quite as steamy as LK, but very good nontheless.

message 94: by Pamela(AllHoney) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) i like both Lucy Monroe and Catherine Anderson. Lucy Monroe is more light hearted with some humor. Cahterine Anderson has more heart wrenching stories with characters who are often "less than perfect".

message 95: by Julianna (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 380 comments I've only read a couple of things by Lucy Monroe, The Real Deal and a short story in an anthology. I really enjoyed The Real Deal, but it is contemp.

I love Catherine Anderson. She's one of my favorite authors. I've read quite a few of her books and have really liked most of them.

Heidi,
I`ve read Ready ,and also Willing ,and also Able.I posted them like this so you could tell they are 3 different books.
They were OK. but I never have read anything else by her, even tho I read contemps.

message 98: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Catherine Anderson is a wonderful writer. She has some great heroes. They are usually saving the heroine and taking care of her. Her books will probably make you cry. I've read Lucy Monroe's Harlequin Presents and her historical paranormal, Moon Awakening. She's a good author.

message 99: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks Gals, I already own a bunch of Cathrine anderson books.....so guess i will get to reading. I Need to try those Lucy Monroe's tho. Thanks for the info ont hem.
