I got half way through the first Cynster novel and decided that I had way better stuff on my shelf to read. Of my limited experience with SL her male characters are all the same and it just gets tedious after a while. Just my personal opinion of course but I don't think that SL is a patch on LK or Mary Balogh.

I know this might seem inconsistent compared to my previous comments on MB but I think that she is extremely talented but patchy in her output and I'd rather read that than SL- I couldn't believe how well put together . was and something like that could never come from the pen of SL.

PS I'm one of those people who'll happily argue over anything without taking it personally so I hope I'm not offending anyone by not liking some authors.

I have only read one Mary Balogh book, First Comes Marriage, but I didn't think it was that good, but I will try Precious Jewel and see if I like that one better.

I am going to order the next Mallory book, I can't believe I forgot it was coming out!

I like to read Mary Balogh, but she is hit or miss. I do not like everything I have read by her but I am always compelled for some reason to try some new book or at least not give up on her.

She's a new author to me, I didn't dislike it intensley or anything, I just found it a bit boring TBH, but she has written a lot of books so I am going to give her a second chance!

I would definitely agree with you there. Here books are definitely more dry than other hr authors.

Mshj, If we all liked the same author it would be like all of us thinking exactly alike and in my humble opinion it would take some if not all of the interesting out of life. This group is good about allowing people to have their opinions and even though they may state a different view they don't flame you for disagreeing with them.

As for SL I read her Bastion Club and loved it although I did notice the males tend to always have certain qualities that they all possess. Black Cobra was good until as previously stated the recent release which is the 3rd. My apology's but I think someone gave her a Thesaurus and she's having entirely to much fun with it. When describing something she seems to do it in all possible ways. I haven't noticed her doing this before.

I discovered LK and the Hathaways about the same time as Mary Balogh and the Huxtables. I've read MB in some anthologies as well but don't think I've read any novels besides Huxtable Series. I do like her though.

Carol, I just purchased Tessa Dare's new book. Is it good? Still waiting for Love in the Afternoon to arrive. Have many books awaiting in the mail! I am soo bad, I cannot stop ordering books; it's like an addiction! But I guess it's a good one! All I seem to do is read....I am presently reading Keegan's Lady by Catherine Anderson, it's historical. Anyone read her books?

I enjoyed 'One Dance with A Duke' very much. I had not read any of Tessa Dare's books before but I will certainly be reading the other two in this series.

One of my friends on Goodreads has recommended Catherine Anderson and is going to let me have some ebooks.

Carol, I am presently reading Kegan's Lady. I believe that is the first in her historical series about the Kendrick/Coulter families. The next one is Summer Breeze and then Early Dawn. Then she starts with the moder Kendrick/Coulter series beginning with Baby Love, etc. I heard Annie's Song is very good. Comanche Moon, Heart, Magic and Indigo Blue is another one of her series. I purchased Indigo Blue in WalMart the other day; don't have the others. I think you will like her.

That was quite fun- I preferred the other two in the series, however her more recent novels didn't work for me.

I read and LOVED and I just finished . I need another romantic suspense, so I think I'll continue the firefighter series and go with . I can't do another historical romance while I'm waiting for . I need to switch genres in between books or they all start running together.

I found Marcus very duty lead and reluctant to get involved with Lillian (although the way in which he cracked was very amusing). As Simon was more of a rulebreaker you would expect him to be tougher and yet he had an unexpected vulnerability to Annabelle and that gave him a real charm.

Secrets of a Summer night is cute! It Happened One Autumn is kind of ethereal looking. Devil in Winter, the background is beautiful, but Evie looks... tiny. I guess she was, right?

I don't like It Happened One Autumn that much, for a start they have a woman with red hair when Lily has dark. Although I guess they were going with autumey colours. I like Secrets of a Summer Night and the Devil in Winter though.

I am a newbie to goodreads and am enjoying reading the reviews of books. My favorite author is LK and I have read almost all of her books. I finished Love in the Afternoon last week and loved it!! I then read Seven Secrets of Seduction, which was OK, now I am working on Julie Garwood's For the Roses. I also started Shanna but I am having a hard time liking the lead Heroine and have set it aside. Since I am almost finished with FTR I don't know what to start next. Any suggestions?

I have read the Madness of Ian, Kingdom of Dreams, and Ravishing in red and loved them! I will look into the rest! I have been reading many reviews on the Nine Rules to Break and am thinking this might be my next!! Thanks so much for the recs!
