"Rainbow book? What's that?" Kynton wrinkled his nose, supposing it was some girly book about hair clips and pink glitter and cooties or whatever girls talked about. He immediately regretted his suggestion that he read or discuss a book with her. I don't want to spend more time with her, or read some stupid book. What was I thinking? "You know, I think I'm good. If I wanted to read I could find more interesting books. Thanks though," he added awkwardly.

"That's fine," Iris shrugged. She'd figured it was for the better anyhow. "But my rainbow book is this book that is rainbow." She paused, expecting for Kynton's face to contort into a Stupid, no kidding expression and for him to stomp of having had enough of her boring Iris-ness. "Ha, just kidding. It's this book my friend gave me for Christmas that changes stories every time I finish one. I call it my rainbow book as the cover is rainbow and it hasn't actually got a story name."

Kynton's eyebrows shot up and his voice showed curiousty against his will. "A magic book?" He cleared his throat. "I mean, of course there's magic books and I've seen a few at home and the library and stuff, but never one that changes like that." He shrugged. Mara used to bring home cool books from the library. I haven't seen many though. But I haven't really seen the library much... He banished the thought from his mind before he could circle back to thinking about Mara or his stupid family.

"Yes, I got it for Christmas so I'm not really sure how it works and all, but I'm sure Caleb would be happy to tell you. Oh, that's who gave it to me, by the way, even though I'm sure you could tell. Or maybe he bought it...I don't really know, actually, but you could ask him."

"Who's Caleb? Another friend?" Kynton asked a bit sharply. "If we ever find your other friends, then I could meet this guy and ask him about the 'rainbow book,' if I wanted to know that badly."

"Uhm, yeah, he is," Iris took another go at pretending not to notice. "Perhaps we could. He'd more likely be with Lyra rather than Medea and Avery." Iris had started realizing how she kind of stuck out from the pairs. Was that why she kept talking to Kynton?

Kynton snorted. "Medea and Avery? What, are they a thing? And Caleb and Lyra? First years seem a bit too young and immature for that. They're really jumping the gun, aren't they?" He rolled his eyes, but his cheeks were heating up again.

((Gross. I'm in what my state calls Math 1. Which is stupid. It has simple algebra and complex algebra and a little geometry. :P))

"I don't know," Iris shrugged. "They very well could be. First years are a bit too young, I suppose. But if they're not all serious and stuff." She cut off at the realization of how awkward the conversation was.

((Argh. I have probably missed you all. Well, since I waste all my time on here, I can give you all a summary. Kind of. SO. Kynton luuurrrves Iris (;]) but he doesn’t want to admit it because he doesn’t like friends. They are currently in search of other signs of civilization. There are new girls named Milly and L-something, possibly Lilly, (sorry I forgot :P) and they met Drizzle and Anni. Drizzle also met Kynton. And Tristin met Kynton and Iris. And classes are starting tomorrow, which will come once everyone wishes. And Lyra and Akrisios are having some sort of pow wow in the Room of Requirement. I think that’s all. OH and I’m pretty sure dinner’s over. End crap summary.))
