Heidi, check on Amazon.com. I think they will tell you if you can preorder when you pull up a book.

You can pre-order both Married By Morning and Love in the Afternoon at Amazon.com right now for $7.99. And the great thing about Amazon is, if the price drops at any time, they'll refund you the difference.
Ah ha, thats what I was looking for, Thanks gals!
Heidi wrote: "Not sure where to post this....was gonna make a new thread, but there are some of LK's OOP books on ebay for very good prices right now! Just run a search for them on ebay and they will come up for..."Yay! Thanks!!!
I'm on a contemporary romance binge right now. I've been reading Kristin Higgins and now reading some Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Is there a good contemporary romance group on Goodreads ya'll can point me to? I need more recommendations! :)

Heya, I am looking for some other Historical Romance to read, but don't really know that many authors in this genre apart from Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, and Johanna Lindsey. Can anyone recommend me any others?
Julie Garwood is awesome! Her stories are more medieval, but sooooo, soooooooo good. She does have some more current ones. Check her out. Most people love her books. She does Highlanders so well.
If you're looking for a great stand alone, I'd recommend
. Not Highlander, but Royce is one of my all time favorite heroes.
Oh yes, Julie Garwood is a fav. I also like Stephanie Laurens however most of her books are a series kind of like Quinn's Bridgertons. I like Anna Campbell
there are so many more.
Anna Campbell - both Untouched and Claiming the Courtesan were amazingly goodSylvia Day - The Stranger I Married, Ask For It, A Passion for Him and Don't Tempt Me
I also like Liz Carlyle, Sally MacKenzie, Emma Holly, Kathleen E. Woodiwiss and Karen Marie Moning.
My daughter just read and LOVE The Prince Trilogy by Elizabeth Hoyt
,
and
. We also have her Legend of the Four Soldiers which I've heard great things about.
Cyn wrote: "Oh God, how could I forget about Elizabeth Hoyt. Her writing is unbelievable."Wow, she must be good if you're singing her praises! I have the books, but haven't read them. Now you've got me itching to get them out.
Thanks for all the recommendations, have just started to read The Prize by Julie Garwood. And now have a load more on my to read pile : )
She is my fav. right behind Kleypas. I LOVE all her books but The Raven Prince is in my top 5 books of all time.
My daughter, Megan, RAVED about it, Cyn. That's unusual for her.Suzanne, be sure and let us know what you think of The Prize.
I am a huge fan of Garwood.. After I read most of the Kleypas books I went and got all of Garwood's..

I love Elizabeth Hoyt and Julie Garwood too! I'm also a big fan of Liz Carlyle, Gaelen Foley and Lorraine Heath and would highly recommend their books.
Just finished reading The Prize by Julie Garwood. Thanks for recommending it, I really liked it. Going to have to read some more of her books I think!

I'm glad you liked it, Suzanne!!I LOVED The Bride , The Wedding , The Secret , Ransom , Honor's Splendour.
Here is the reading list of her historicals. I think they should be read in order. :
Crown's Spies
1. The Lion's Lady (1988)
2. Guardian Angel (1990)
3. The Gift (1991)
4. Castles (1993)
Lairds' Fiancees
1. The Bride (1989)
2. The Wedding (1996)
Highlands' Lairds
1. The Secret (1992)
2. Ransom (1999)
3. Shadow Music (2007)
Claybornes' Brides (Rose Hill)
1. For the Roses (1995)
2. One Pink Rose (1997)
3. One White Rose (1997)
4. One Red Rose (1997)
5. Come the Spring (1997)
Stand Alones:
Gentle Warrior (1985)
A Girl Named Summer (1986)
Rebellious Desire (1986)
Honor's Splendour (1987)
The Prize (1991)
Saving Grace (1993)
Prince Charming (1994)
Quite a few then, plenty to keep me going, I looked at the Highland Lairds series and I think I might read those next.I don't want to read too many in a row, otherwise you get to know the "formula" of the authors books!

I totally agree with pacing yourself when reading books by the same author. They start becoming too predictable.I LOVED the Highland Laird books, and even Laird's Fiance's were great!
Hope you enjoy!
OH, and For The Roses is on my list of all time favorite reads, but the next 3 books in the series were more novella length and not as good. I haven't read Come The Spring, yet.

The Bride and The Secret are my fav's
I loved both of those!!! The Secret has one of my all time favorite prologues, the girls' banter... so fun. I loved "Am I a damn Scots, papa?" So many things to love about that book!

, and, of course, Gaelen Foley, whose Knight Miscellany and Ascension books are AMAZING!!!!
For Garwood series reads I'd go with The Bride, The Wedding, The Secret, Ransom in that order. For a Garwood stand alone, I'd start with The Prize.
Oh, yes.... Honor's Splendour was another excellent book, but I think all of her Highlander/medieval books are.
I have read three of Julie Garwoods books since they were recommened on the this thread lol. It was the Medieval/Highlander ones, I would definately read those first. Love Highlander books, does anyone know of any other good ones?
I liked Pamela Clare's MacKinnon's Rangers trilogy. There are only 2 out so far. They are Highlanders fighting for the British Crown against the French in the American colonies. Different. They are funny, but not as funny as Garwood. If you want serious Highlanders with a lot of historical accuracy, read Kathleen Given's books. I love those novels!!
Monica McCarty's Macleod trilogy was ok. I liked Highlander Untamed better than Highlander Unmasked, and haven't yet read Highlander Unchained. I've heard her Campbell trilogy is much better.
I'm sure someone will come up with more.
OH, I also liked Michelle Willingham's MacEgan Brothers series.
Hi! Thanks for the Garwood recommendations, they just went on my TBR list:-) Now I need to put a dent in my TBR before getting to Garwood!lolI actually wasn't a fan of Monica McCarty's MacLeod trilogy... It was missing that moment where your gut clenches, for me :-) That's how I judge if I thought a HR was good: if you wonder for a couple seconds if the H/h are going to make it to the HEA!
Julie Garwood's Buchanan series books are very enjoyable as well...Heartbreaker
Mercy
Killjoy
Murder List
Slow Burn
Shadow Dance
Fire and Ice
Sizzle
Question for all you Garwood Contemporary fans. I've only read Heartbreaker thus far. Are the other books (talking contemporary) the same as Heartbreaker with a mystery and a murderer's point of view/feelings mixed in? FYI If anyone likes Lynsay Sands' historical books a bunch of them look like they may have just gone out of print. Can only find them on ebay or used Amazon. Either Barnes & Nobles or Borders (one of them) has them listed as a back ordered item, but my guess is they just went out of print.
Lisarenee, I'm not 100% sure all of them have murderer's point of view/feelings mixed in, but several do. One of my favorites was Fire & Ice, which is not the first in the series, but the first one I read. I also really liked Heartbreaker and Mercy. I'm listening to Shadow Dance now, and then I still want to finish the series by reading Sizzle. When you first start reading Fire & Ice, it's like two different stories, and then it all comes together in the end. I think Mercy was the same way, where there are two story lines going on (the good side and the bad side - for lack of a better way to describe it) and it comes together too. If I recall correctly, you get a glimpse of the murderer's point of view/feelings in Slow Burn as well.Another option for getting out of print books is the book swap sites. I use http://www.paperbackswap.com and http://www.swaptree.com/. I like swaptree best out of the two, but I like them both for different reasons. On swaptree you can ONLY swap. On paperbackswap, you can get books you want by buying credits vs. waiting to get credits from someone wanting one of your books.
Oh, and yes, all of the Buchanan (contemporary) Garwood books are what I call romantic/suspense. They all have a mystery going on, but plenty of romance too :)!
Thanks Kerry. I'll probably eventually get to Garwood's other contemporary books. I read Heartbreaker and liked it, but I need to be in the mood for the romantic suspense books. I definitely need to checkout the book swap sites.
I agree, RS is a genre I have to be in the mood for. I've heard so many BAD things about Garwood's contemps that I've been afraid to read them even though I have the first few here. I'll get to them one of these days.
Saving Grace is one of my favorite Garwood books. Also, you should check out her website, it's one of the coolest I've ever visited!
^Mariel, I agree that The Marriage Lesson wasn't as good as some of her other books but you might want to try the Prince's Bride. I think that's my fav book from Victoria Alexander.I started reading Lisa Kleypas a few months back and from then on, I just couldn't stop buying her books! They're so addictive. But I'm almost completing the collection now and getting a little anxious wondering what else to read next while I wait for Leo's book. Coincidentally, all my other fav authors are pending releasing a new book so this gap for me is torturous!
ok anyway, other authors whom I think are of a slightly different style but equally awesome:
Julia Quinn (I think everyone agrees on her)
Lorraine Heath (you should really try reading her books, especially the Scoundrels of St. James series and the Rogues & Roses series. I absolutely love them!)
Tracy Anne Warren
Anna Campbell

Koosh, I'm so with you on LK being addictive. I think Anna Campbell is another addictive author for me.
^I know! I'm ecstatic that at least LK would have a book out next month. I don't think I'd be able to handle a year or even six months without one! Lol. What do you think will happen when (or if) she retires?? *faints*

Julia Quinn, I love her books! I raced through the whole Bridgerton series then had to buy all her other ones as well. Her Olivia Bevelstoke book (I think that is her surname) What Happens in London is mu current fave!I haven't read any of the other authors but I will give them a go I think : )
^Yeah, the Bridgerton series. Absolutely loved it. Got so attached to the characters. Lol. You should try some of the authors the rest have mentioned here. They're all really good too.Danielle, I find Anna Campbell's books really dark and totally different from LK and JQ but they're still GOOD. I do sometimes get a soft spot for tortured heroes but she tends to write some of the best.
Has anyone read any of Sarah Addison Allen books. They are not my absoloute favourite romance books, they are so magical. They are the book equivilant to hot chocolate and warm cookies. Especially The Sugar Queen.
