I am currently reading (2010)...
Peeps - annoyed a little by the science facts every other chapter. Really hoping there is a reason behind it because as of now, I don't see the point.
I finished Huntress and King Lear so it's time to move on to two more. :) Now starting Lord Brocktree by Brain Jacques and Black Dawn by L.J. Smith.
Breakthrough!: How the 10 Greatest Discoveries in Medicine Saved Millions and Changed Our View of the World - Jon QueijoFree Kindle Download as of now, the nook price is $20, can't find a kobo edition.
Just finished To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Now, I'm leafing through Pat Conroy's The Water is Wide
The Water is Wide is one of my favorite books. I read it over and over when I first found it. I thought the story was awesome, and I fell in love with the kids in his class.
Just finished Mercy Thompson: Homecoming. Not sure if I'm going to read Touching Evil or The Last Days...
Started the First-Reads novel I won,The Dragon Twins by F.A. Ludwig. May pick up something else to read as well, depending on how well this goes.
I'm rereading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I always feel the need to reread all of the Harry Potters in the summer.
Just finished Touching Evil last night. Loved it.Now it's a toss up between Cat's Claw and Touching Darkness. Not sure which I want to read less. haha
I just began reading Private Arrangements by Sherry Thomas. I'm also reading a few books for school... but none that I would recommend.
Finished Waxwork - Peter Lovesey, just getting started on another electronic galley, Double Prey: A Posadas County Mystery - Steven Havill, which is due for publication in January 2010. It's a mystery set in New Mexico.
1984 and still rereading East of Eden.Would definitely recommend Good Omens for a fun, easy read, but an easy read that is still smart and witty.
Blazing on through ... While the Savage Sleeps - Andrew E. Kaufman
Goodreads author that I "met" on another group. Thriller with paranormal elements, not a romance.
Ashes - Scott Nicholson
Another Goodreads author who friended me. Straight-up horror short stories.
Mirror Image - Dennis Palumbo
Mystery that I got in electronic galley from netgalley.com
Deathbird Stories - Harlan Ellison
reread of an old favorite. Very intense short stories about forgotten and new Gods.
I'm reading Our Kind of Traitor by John le Carre (a Goodreads win!). And really quickly tonight I read The Tales of Beedle the Bard.
Ok, so I was doing a reading marathon this weekend that's why I went a little crazy. I finished
,
,
,
,
. I couldn't finish
, I just couldn't get into it. I'm now reading
.
Renewing Professional Librarianship: A Fundamental Rethinking - for school. Also, still reading 1984 and rereading East of Eden.
I finished The MacLean Groom: Highland Lairds Trilogy and This Matter Of Marriage as kick off to Smut-tember Fest, which I'm hosting on my blog: http://thecraftyreader.blogspot.com/2... . Anyone who is into romance (all kinds of romance from clean to paranormal) or into erotica is more than welcome to join in the fun. Now I'm reading Garden Spells.
Jo wrote: "I'm reading Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life"I loved that manga series, the movie was really good too. :)
I am reading
. I have wanted to read this for such a long time... Glad to say I am really enjoying the book so far, I am finding it a page turner and I am over half way through, started a day ago, thats fast for me! Hope it continues to be good...
I finished Crocodile on the Sandbank late last night so this morning I decided to start on Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward.
Big Machine - Victor LaValle (firstreads win)The House of the Seven Gables - Nathaniel Hawthorne
(was on vacation in Salem, drove past the house on the way out of town, didn't take the tour, had no idea how boring the book is. You'd think a book that inspires a tour of an old house would be more interesting.)
Boneshaker - Cherie Priest
SciFi and Fantasy book club read

LOL.
The House of the Seven Gables remains to this day the most painful book reading experience of my life. The only reason I actually made it through was because I am too stubborn to abandon a book after I have started it.
Brooke wrote: "The House of the Seven Gables remains to this day the most painful book reading experience of my life. The only reason I actually made it through was because I am too stubborn to abandon a book after I have started it."Oh, thank goodness, it's not just me!
As Always, Julia: The Letters of Julia Child and Avis DeVoto - Due for publication in December, 2010. This is a collection of the correspondence between Julia Child and Avis DeVoto. If you saw (or read) Julie & Julia, you know about these letters. There are a number of pictures, mostly taken by Paul Child. I'm reading it as an electronic galley.
Kristina wrote: "I'm about halfway through Her Fearful Symmetry and really enjoying it."Did you like The Time Traveler's Wife as well? I was curious about Her Fearful Symmetry, but didn't care for 'The Time Traveler's Wife' at all. Just wanted to see if her writing style was similar in both.
I just finished Immortalis Carpe Noctem (a goodreads giveaway win!) and enjoyed it. A good fluff read. I'll be starting Bonds of Justice tomorrow.
