Jackie "the Librarian" I hear ya, Donna. Why, oh why, don't I live in Hawaii?

Reads with Scotch Uugh! I have a 250GL heating oil tank and it cost me over 900.00 to fill it. We are currently in our 7th month of winter here. I am so ready for summer.

Lisa I don't even need the tropics. I just want normal Portland spring, when it should be close to 70 here, not close to 50. It was a marvelous weekend, but by tuesday it's supposed to be high of 49 again. Shit.

Reads with Scotch you sound like you need to run some yarn threw your sleaves, and tie each end to your gloves. Thats what moma always did. :)

Brigid ✩ argh. i hate cold weather. i hate new england (which is where i live--and it's cold). today my dad was late picking me up from school. so i was standing outside in the freezing cold and pouring rain. not fun.

message 6: by Tracy (new)

Tracy brigid, i will trade you the unseasonably warm, humid mid 80s we're having here in ohio for your freezing cold. because, damnit, i'm not ready to give up my boots and sweaters and leggings yet.

although today is cold again, and not raining, so i'm not hating on today. i might be hating on later this week though, so you can have that.

:)

Lisa Ooh, Tracy, I'll take you up on that offer! You can have high of 49 and raining for the next few days, and I'll take that 80 degrees off your hands.

I've discovered that dressing for work during the transitional weather gets really challenging when it goes on for three months instead of the normal three weeks. I've put away all the wool, but can't pull out the capris or short sleeves. I'm working with half a wardrobe here, people!

message 8: by Theresa (new)

Theresa (tsorrels) Donna, I hate that it is HOT here! It is supposed to reach 98 degrees today... Too hot! However,it is supposed to cool off to 87 degrees for a couple of days starting Thursday. Woohoo! I'll have to break out the sweaters.

On a non-weather related note, I don't like the fact that with the boss out for the next couple of weeks that I am incredibly swamped at work. I am SO far behind on GoodReads and miss you guys!

So, yeah, that is why I have been and will be missing in action for the most part for the next 2-3 weeks. :(

message 9: by Sierra (new)

Sierra i hate the rain! Its too dang cold and icy! I can look at it and touch the cold glass it hits but I could NEVER go out in it. I dont understand why people like it so much. Yuck.

message 10: by Lisa (new)

Lisa I don't wanna even touch the cold glass.

Lori Ohhh, there's someone from Portland? Seattle here! It's been awful. I can't believe I still have the heat on. Plus last summer sucked - my blood never got nice and hot.

The night before it snowed (2 weeks ago) I had a dream that I woke up and it was October. I was so depressed, I missed the whole summer. Then I really woke up and was weirded out all day. Should I be happy that it really wasn't October and still only April with a hope that nice weather might come? OR should I be depressed because it was still cold and miserable outside with SNOW forecast later that afternoon?

Sierra Its as hot as hell where im at so b lucky. Its NOT a good sign that ur sweating with the air conditioner on in a tanktop and sophy's shorts.

Jackie "the Librarian" Me, too, Donna. I would love to not be wearing a wool sweater over a long sleeve shirt, and just have on some flip-flops instead of argyle socks.

But I am want the heat, not the humidity. I tried living in Texas, and moved back to Washington state defeated not so much by the heat, but by the 99% humidity. And the bugs. Ugh.

message 14: by Sally (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | -1 comments oh, the hot just makes my brain turn to mush. I like hot and humid when I'm on a porch swing with a tall glass of something mind numbing, but in general, I'd rather have it be cold out and be able to cozy it up under 38 blankets and a big ol' mug o' nog.
