This is a great resource if you're looking for author bibliographies in all genres of fiction. They have over 25,000 authors listed in alphabetical order and it's very easy to use. I often check it to find out the first in a series.

Reading Resource Area - instant flashback to Grade Three. I spent time there doing extra stuff while the rest of the class was finishing up the assignment.

Wow! What a great thread! :D
Wow! What a great thread! :DThe only one I can think of at present is more for authors. Or, those who want to know the ins-and-outs of publishing, or what's "happening" in that world. It's Nathan Bransford's blog, and I just think this guy is awesome! I've been to a few conferences where he's been a speaker and he seems just as nice and knowledgeable in person as in his blog.

Sure! Hope you enjoy :) I forgot to mention (der!) that he's a literary agent. I guess I should have included that!

I just wrote to them but the answer will come within 3-5 days. Laurele in another group have already used it when reading The Odissey. I asked for more details about it.
Here is a free reader for the iPod Touch/iPhone. You can use it to read Project Gutenberg books, too! Sort of like the Kindle but with far more free books and different booksellers.

Just remembered this "eye toy" called "literature map"
http://www.literature-map.com/
You type in the name of an author and click and it makes a map of other authors you might like.
Here's the main page: http://www.gnod.net/
music and movies too

That sounds like a wonderful, but dangerous site.
      Ooh! I like!
At first I thought we were to post "Work/Educational Resources" and I was ready to post all my resouces I use for my job... hahaha, yup, I'm still in student mode today.
I was happy to book mark a lot of these links to look at in depth later.

It's pretty addictive... I like the map, but even better on the main gnod page, is the place where you put in three of your favorite authors and the computer picks other authors for you to rate.

Oh, how FUN!! I shouldn't have clicked on now just before heading to work! I'll definitely be back to this site!
I'm very active on a book-sharing community that enables us to track our books as other people read them. It's a bit like geocaching or Where's George: bookcrossing.com
I'm very active on a book-sharing community that enables us to track our books as other people read them. It's a bit like geocaching or Where's George: bookcrossing.comI've spent hundreds of dollars on cheap books at half.com - you really can't beat the prices there and the postage is set by the site. I sell a bit there, too.
My first e-book purchase a couple of weeks ago was at fictionwise.com and I thought it seemed very affordable and easy. It's the only place I could get the science fiction stories by Richard A. Lovett that I missed when they were published in *Analog.*
