Your fight is without point Mari. When an Angel and Human gets 'BUSY'... the result is a Nephilim. NOT AN ELF. And the angel who did that would become a Fallen angel.

lol this is amusing to watch.

message 53: by Thomas (new)

Thomas (artangel) | 1062 comments Yes.... it is! lol!! Mari keeps on about the Elves being Fallen Angels. She's missing the whole point of Elves and Angels. They are both from different places and has no relation with each other whatsoever.

message 54: by [deleted user] (new)

lol and i dont know anything about either so im learning as I watch yous argue about elves and fallen angels.

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

why do you think vampires got to be so popular in books, movies, etc?

message 62: by Thomas (new)

Thomas (artangel) | 1062 comments Mahalia wrote: "why do you think vampires got to be so popular in books, movies, etc?"

Because, like everything else that's unexplained or mythical or legendary... a humans curiosity with such things has no limits. When it comes to the paranormal, whether its dangerous or not, humans have always sought to find answers for it. Be it Vampires, Angels, Elves, Leprechauns, Dwarfs, Fairies, Spirits, Monsters, Demons, Valenth, Dragons, Big-foot(lol), Loch-Ness or UFO/Aliens... man has always from the very beginning... wanted to put a finger on these subjects. That's how its been since the dawn of mankind.

Vampires are no exception either. Vampires spark human imagination for only three things: their Sexual appeal, Strength and Immortality!
Nothing more... nothing less!

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

hmmm....i learnt something today lol. but vampires were not always liked for their sexual appeal, they were feared in medieval times.

message 64: by Thomas (new)

Thomas (artangel) | 1062 comments lol... Yes, they were feared in the early 16th and 17th Century in places like Russia, Poland and Romania. But what i meant to say was that the fear itself was an allure to a common human being because of the three main things that a human can acquire on being 'turned'. The sexual appeal part is simple because of the fact that, a Vampire being a creature that preys on humans need a lure like any other animal that hunts. Sexual appeal is one trait that a vampire uses to lure people near them. Its commonly known as Glamoring (you may have heard the term in the hit TV show,TRUE BLOOD). So what i meant to say was that, Vampires are surely feared before, after and even now. But the perks of being one far outweighs anything else (that is, for some people).

But, let me ask each and every member here in this group. Tell me honestly what your answer is.
If a Vampire were to attack you... would you just stand your ground and offer yourselves OR run away in fear!!??(I am asking you to answer this honestly)

message 65: by [deleted user] (new)

thanks for clearing that up.

Hmmm thats a toughie, i guess it would depend on what the vampire looked like lol, but I would most likely run in fear.

message 66: by Thomas (new)

Thomas (artangel) | 1062 comments Yes, you would and anyone who wishes to live would. Even I would run. But in the end we would be dead before we can even THINK about escape or even take 2 steps to run.

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah so what would be the point in running?

message 68: by Thomas (last edited Jan 07, 2010 04:22AM) (new)

Thomas (artangel) | 1062 comments As with any other human... when faced with danger or fear... the instinct is and was and will always be... TO RUN (be it physically or mentally)

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

true but it'd be pointless. I think it'd be best to try and fight the attacker.

message 70: by Thomas (new)

Thomas (artangel) | 1062 comments Mahalia wrote: "true but it'd be pointless. I think it'd be best to try and fight the attacker."

lol again... fighting is as pointless as running!! but i was just talking of the fact that the human mind just shuts down and then runs on pure instinct when faced with extremely dangerous situations.

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

lol yeah its the fight or flight thing, adrenalin! but fighting isnt as pointless as running because as u said the mind shuts down and runs on pure instinct, so why cant a totally freaked out person with high adrenalin fight off a vampire, at least until the human can get to some sort of help or something?

message 72: by Thomas (new)

Thomas (artangel) | 1062 comments Mahalia wrote: "lol yeah its the fight or flight thing, adrenalin! but fighting isnt as pointless as running because as u said the mind shuts down and runs on pure instinct, so why cant a totally freaked out perso..."

lol yeah! a slight chance of survival. That is if you are armed. if the person is unarmed... i don't think even adrenaline will help against a vampire.

message 73: by [deleted user] (new)

lol see its a slightly better chance of survival than running. I reckon a person would stand a little chance against a vampire when they have high adrenalin even without a weapon because in some cases people have lifted cars off the ground, we are not totally defenceless against vampire attacks lol

Thomas (artangel) | 1062 comments FEW COMMON & UNCOMMON VAMPYRE TERMS:

Bloodstock -- An annual real-life gathering of Vampyres.
Basically a large-scale vampfest, each year's
Bloodstock is organized by a committee which, with the aid
of participants-to-be, decides on events and location
(striving for variety and centrality, respectively). The
first Bloodstock was held in July 1994, in Champaign-Urbana,
Illinois, at Miner's chicken farm. The name "Bloodstock"
was coined by Arioch.

Bloofer niblets -- children. So-called for the "Bloofer
Lady" in DRACULA, who was fond of feeding on them.

Breather -- a living human being; especially, a member of
mainstream human society. Usually derogatory.

CotN -- Children of the Night. (Some prefer to interpret
this as Creatures of the Night.) Any being or class of beings
that reaches its optimal level of existence when the sun is
beyond the horizon. This includes vampires, ghosts, weres,
workers of all varieties of magic, disc jockeys (uhm...,
I guess the PC version of that is radio announcers), and
probably college students (especially those who can pull
passing grades out of a hat). Yes, and gargoyles, too.

Fledgling -- a newly created vampire, or a new member of this
list. (Some Vampyres listners use the term "fleshling.")

Niblets -- short for Bloofer niblets

Nosferatu -- a traditional, folkloric vampire, often
resembling a rotting corpse.

Real Vampires (also called realvamps or Arthenian vampires)
-- human beings who are biologically normal in many
respects but have the ability to "feed" off life energy.
Blood is often the preferred medium, but they may also
obtain this energy by "psychic" feeding. Real vampires may
have characteristics associated with vampires of fiction,
such as sensitivity to sunlight. Some are apparently born
"realvamps"; others have undergone some type of transformation
or realization of latent abilities to become vampires.

Real vampires are a controversial topic. Many aficionados of
fictional vampires give no credence to the notion that
vampires exist in "real life," and even self-proclaimed real
vampires may disagree on what is in fact a "real vampire."

Renfield -- a vampire's minion, often bug-eating and prone
to maniacal cackles of laughter. Named for the madman
Renfield in the classic novel DRACULA by Bram Stoker.

Turn -- to make a person a vampire.

Van Helsing -- A vampire hunter of great sagacity.

Were -- any being that can assume the forms of other species,
e.g., werewolf, weretiger, were-seal, were-kiwi,
were-firefly.

cool! I didnt know some of them!

message 81: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany (vampoholic) | 1279 comments u forgot shapeshifters - can take the form of any animal they have seen

message 82: by Thomas (new)

Thomas (artangel) | 1062 comments Shape-Shifters or Were-folk can really turn into one animal and one only after they choose a particular animal after the age of 13. Before that... well... they can change to anything they want.

message 83: by Thomas (new)

Thomas (artangel) | 1062 comments Tiffany wrote: "u forgot shapeshifters - can take the form of any animal they have seen"

and i had mentioned them in the list:

Were -- any being that can assume the forms of other species,
e.g., werewolf, weretiger, were-seal, were-kiwi,
were-firefly.

message 84: by Thomas (new)

Thomas (artangel) | 1062 comments Our ignorance of shape-shifters is evident from the fact that we only know of Were-Wolves.

message 85: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany (vampoholic) | 1279 comments there's a difference though....were's can only turn into 1 specific animal...whereas shapeshifters can turn into more than 1 animal, whatever animal they want to be, even as an adult, depending on which legend you go by.

then u have spirit shifters, who just take on the essence of their animal, but don't actually shift.

smootches, lol
