I totally agree and am horrified we have to wait until June! does LKH really have to sleep. too bad she can't write in her sleep.

The "Long live Anita Blake" comment got me! Lol

I saw in an interview with LKH that she actually has bought presents and had to return them because well..they characters don't really exist in the real world...LOL
This past Christmas I found myself thinking ... ooh wouldn't that be a good gift for ... But my reality meter kicked in and I did not actually buy anything. LOL Good thing my husband would probably have had me committed.

I haven't got all the books I've read added in here. I'm thinking of doing some re-reading so that I can give a good review, and so that means it would be about the 5th or 6th time going through Anita Blake. Seems like I re-read her every couple of books or so.
The problem is I have to get my books back from my son. He borrowed mine and is now also a huge fan. We may have to arm wrestle for them? Or I might just re-purchase them for my Kindle... Yeah!!! That's the ticket!!!

Sunshine, haven't read Merry Gentry but have heard good things about it. Would like more feed back on it!
Cheryl, OMG!! Buying Christmans gift for fictional characters!!?? That is a new level of obsessed even for me! Love it!! Hee hee

And yes, new releases of a much anticipated book are always fun to look forward too! I am now reading Blue Moon and loving it!

All I can say is the LKH will not disappoint
you in anything she writes. She is number 1 in my top 5 authors number 2 is JR Ward. And I love Merry just as much as I love Anita. If you have any questions let me know. I read all books for both and I am waiting. Ooh yeah I am in love with Doyle and you will see why.

Eek! Thanks for the feedback ladies! Now I'm all giddy with anticipation!
MG's world does come off as very different when I was reading synopsis of some of the books. I look forward to them but I am also glad I have so many AB books still too look forward to.
Even as I read little comments here and there about the different story lines and how rediculously dysfunctional her little family is, I'm still hooked! HA!

I live in beautiful and fabulous Portland, Oregon! On the days when it's not beautiful and fabulous, the rain and dark days keep me inside reading. I love to sew, crochet, make and drink beer, do yoga and positivity!
Hope to talk with some of you. I found Goodreads and was screaming like a little girl! I have no friend into my type of reading......my boyfriend teases me about my "vampire porn".......so I hope to get my need to talk about something I've read out in a forum. Namaste all!

BTW, I'm a guy and love all Laurell's books. I keep listening to the Merry Gentry ones on my iPod. Please don't kick me out for not being one of your "ladies" Your group title seems to mean i am not welcome??
Mark E. Cooper

All are welcome. I imagine when the group was first formed it was all ladies, hence the name.

I myself am about half way through the series. It's fans comments and passion for the series that keeps me reading! And of course for my own pleasure.

I have listened to them all a few times while I work. The narration is great, and they are all unabridged. I never buy abridged audio books.
When Laurell started the Merry Gentry series, I was concerned that her attention would fade from Anita. Luckily that didn't happen. Now i worry that she will finish Merry's series before I am satisfied :)
I know a lot of reviewers complain about the sex scenes, and that there are too many. I started to feel that way when Anita Blake made her second menage, but now I don't mind at all. Funny, but in the Merry series I have never minded, probably because the series was heavily into the sex from the start.
I know its not very guy-like to say, but its not the sex that attracts me to the books. I really do have an interest in Merry's future plans and how she will politic with her allies, defeat her enemies and bring the Goddess to the humans :)
With Anita, i am expecting after Hit List to see her using her power to help Jean Claude make his council in the US, and she will be like the terminator on steroids by the end whenever anyone looks sideways at her men!

Just a few years ago I discovered Laurell's books, but then I read one after the other all 14 Anita Blake story, just two weeks. My favorite are 4., 8. and 10. part. Micah and Nathaniel is among my favorite actors, and of course Richard. I Like Merry Gentry too.
