Agnieszka T. (enga) | 571 comments Andrea - I think it's a good book. It's also very sad one, it was sometimes painful to read it. But it has interesting plot and very well done characters. It felt so real, all these emotions.

Aha, I don't know the movie. Yet ;)

I think it was either on WE(Women's Entertainment) or Lifetime.

Aga, did you like Mystic River?

message 59: by Agnieszka T. (new)

Agnieszka T. (enga) | 571 comments Andrea - I liked it very much. Good crime story, with so many different topics covered, well constructed characters, interesting plot. For sure I'll try to find more books of Lehane :)

Me too Aga! I also just read a Thousand Splendid Suns and I loved it! I've been on a pretty good roll of reading great books minue Eat Pray Love. Something was just missing for me in that book....

Agnieszka T. (enga) | 571 comments :) I loved it totally! I think it's one of the best books I've read in 2010! It's grabbing your heart and mind since the beginning and - in my case - keeping them still.

I stopped at the library to pick up some hold and I saw the audio version of ATSS on a cart. I grabbed it and said YES!!!! Now I'm wondering if I'll be crying listening to it on the way to work..hahah

Aga, I read the Feast of Love prior to writing reviews, but I really liked it. I know some people hate it because of the writing style and the way it jumps back and forth. What do you think?

Also, I guess it was made into a movie!

Agnieszka T. (enga) | 571 comments Hi Andrea! I liked it, but without a big excitement. It's a nice story and that's all for me ;) I don't mind the style, it was ok for me, jumping as well. I don't know why, it just did not touch my soul and heart ;)

Yes, I've heard there is a movie, will try to see it once.

:)~

Aga, I'm a fan of Joyce Carol Oates, I couldn't figure out what the title is that you read. Do you know how that translate to English? I may have read it as well, or have it to read soon..hahah

Agnieszka T. (enga) | 571 comments Andrea - it's "Black Girl, White Girl" :) If you read it already - give me know what did you think about it!

That's not one I have read yet or have, was it good? Joyce Carol Oates is going to be at the Boston Book Fair next weekend! I can't go so I'm pretty bummed that I'm going to miss her. I wonder if she is as dark in person?

Agnieszka T. (enga) | 571 comments It's interesting book, with a quite complex characters and well builded plot. What is cool - the fact of "simple" story of 2 roomies is not so simple as it was exptected to be, there are a lot of different levels in this book.

I'm very sorry that you can't go to this meeting! Probably you feel right now as I felt 2 times in last few months when I couldn't participate in such meetings :(

I do feel bad, but not bad enough that I'm willing to work really hard to go. I don't have anyone who wants to go and I would have to travel into the city which is a bit of a pain. I also have a paper due and I really only get that one day to spend a lot of time with Brian. Next month I will be done with school and I will have a lot more time on my hands to do fun stuff, I just have to cope a little longer!

Agnieszka T. (enga) | 571 comments So, now I'm done ;) But I'll continue adding new books to see how many I'll read until the end of this year.

I would move it to the completed challenges, but have no clue how.

Congrats Aga! Kay comes through and moves over all the lists that are at 75, if not I'll try to figure it out.
